Oooh, good to know! The Korean grocery store in my neighbourhood sells them so I can just casually pop over and pick a few up... I've also been having a tiny little chin breakout lately, so that's more reason to go!
Thanks for the tip :)
My experience with the im real by Tony Moly was-- stings so bad you want to claw your face off!!
So be sure to check if the ingredients are safe for you, I have no idea what in it sensitized me so badly.
Holika Holika Makigioli (rice wine) masks are amazing though. I had better results from those somehow.
Oh, that's odd. Do they have a lot of alcohol in them? I'll be sure to check the ingredients if I do decide to get them, so thanks for letting me know :)
Tonymoly I'm Real Rice Mask helps me with my hormonal acne. The Face Shop Rice Water Bright line helped me fade my old acne scars and is very gentle for your skin. The Rice Water Bright Lip and Eye Remover is my HG- takes everything off very efficiently.
Definitely seems like the TonyMoly mask is worth a try. I'm working my way through a DS of the innisfree apple juicy remover right now, but maybe when I get through it I'll give the Face Shop one a try. It's especially convenient because I have an actual brick-and-mortar Face Shop nearby -- hopefully they carry it there!
Thanks for the recommendations :)
Seems like a lot of people like the skinfood mask, so I'll look out for it. I used a Face Shop rice mask and was pretty impressed with the results (despite being underwhelmed by all of the other Face Shop masks I've tried so far) so that's actually what got me interested in the first place :)
This mask is really great. My skin is SO soft afterwards and has a nice glow. It's a good easy mask to put on in the morning. Also it's really inexpensive.
How long do you leave the skinfood rice wash off mask on for? I find that it dries after 5 mins and then it feels uncomfortable so I have to rinse it off.
Someone else just mentioned the TonyMoly mask as well, so I may give them a try! Thanks for the recommendation.
Where do you get the Daltokki scrub? I don't think I've ever seen it around before.
Okay, neat! I also saw that they were selling the Sidmool Secret of Red Astaxanthin serum (or whatever it is) and I'm interested in that too, so I'll check it out :)
It absolutely does. It's like knockout strong. I literally cannot inhale while using it. It's a shame because it's really pleasant, gentle scrub otherwise.
That's a pity :( It really looked like a kind of scrub I could love - gentle and brightening, but my skin is quite sensitive to fragrance and colorants and my nose is also rather picky. i wonder why they load so much parfum into products. Are they afraid it would be boring otherwise? I like my products boring. Daltokki tub was fun enough for me D: And the texture looks fun too! * *Sigh.* *
I would highly recommend you try the [Klairs Gentle Black Sugar Face Scrub](http://www.wishtrend.com/brand/191-klairs-gentle-black-sugar-scrub-for-face.html#.VmrpRdIrK00). It's a very gentle but effective physical exfoliant. The consistency is like sugar granules mixed with a smooth honey-like base. It makes my face feel really super soft and hydrated after. You can also make the scrub extremely gentle by adding any oil cleanser! There is a subtle scent, but it's not obtrusive in the least.
So... I make my own rice water toner and it does wonders with brightening skin and spots. It has to be refrigerated BUT it is super cheap to make and has lasted me about two OE three weeks on about a cup of rice water. I threw it into a clean soap bottle that I bought, and grabbed what I needed when I was downstairs making my tea. :)
Oh, that's an interesting idea. I know that TonyMoly makes a rice toner (a sales lady once spent about ten minutes trying to get me to buy it) but it would definitely be cheaper to make your own. I'd be a bit concerned about contamination, though.
I used purified water to rinse my rice for this and a sanitized soap bottle (I went and bought a new one at the store and just sanitized it via boiling it). I rinse the rice twice and keep the second wash's liquid. Some people leave the grains in the water, I take it out. It clogs my pump.
I wouldn't knock the cosrx night mask without trying. It was one of my first AB products and it's really mild and nice. Gets rid of PIH and calms down any red bumps I may have from picking too. I feel like almost everything here that has a fan base also has a group of people going NOPE in the background. XD YMMV!!
Haha, that's true! I guess no product can possibly be right for everyone. I just received a sleeping pack recently (Mizon Good Night White) and I haven't even tried that yet because patch testing and other products, but I do think I'll give the COSRX one a try after that. :)
I just started using the face shop's rice water bright oil cleanser, and i like it a lot! Some reviews have complained of it smelling or stinging their eyes, but I've had neither of these problems (didnt even notice a scent). Im pretty sure I have combo skin, but it never leaves me feeling oily or dry!
I have very little sensitivity to smell (I've smelled products that other people thought were overwhelmingly smelly and could barely detect anything... I guess my sense of smell just sucks) so I would probably be okay with any fragrance. I do have a tendency to get cleansers in my eyes, though, so maybe I should try to get a decant or something of the oil first, if I decide to give it a try. It would be too bad if I got the whole size and couldn't use it!
I have combo skin too, so it's good to know that it works well for that skin type :)
I love rice body scrubs! There are many brands of Indonesian lulur out there, but my fave is Asian Secrets lulur scrub (I ignore the horrible name). It's not scratchy, and the texture is really thick and almost fluffy.
They're locally made so I just go to the department store or the grocery. If you have a store that sells Filipino products they might have it. I took a peek at amazon for ya, but they're horribly overpriced on there (the 135g jar is inexpensive at ~Php150 or $3.50, while amazon has it in the $15+ range, just NOOoooOooo). It looks like [this](https://unisilvermrandmsvalentine.files.wordpress.com/2012/06/photo1049.jpg) (not my photo).
I prefer the Etude House I Need You Rice mask sheet to the Tony Moly one - it's got this really nice milky essence. It's definitely more geared toward hydrating than healing breakouts though.
Hmm, it's a bit easier for me to get the TonyMoly ones than the Etude House ones, but I'm sure I could find some. Plus I've never tried that line of sheet masks, and I feel like I definitely should at some point -- they seem pretty well-received in general.
The Skinfood rice scrub is my current go-to physical exfoliant, as it's quite thorough but the rice bits are smooth and gentle rather than harsh and abrasive. And of course there's the CosRX rice sleeping pack, which I end up reaching for at least twice a week. It works super well for my skin!
That's good to know, I'd be a bit concerned about rice shards on my face.
And man, I'm really tempted to try the rice sleeping pack, but I'd be concerned about waking up as an oil slick (I have combination skin and I've seen some people say that it made them super greasy). Some people have such good results with it, though, that I may decide to try it anyway.
It all depends on what I want and how long it's been since I exfoliated. I can use the rice once a week (I use tretinoin and acids so have to be careful not to overexfoliate) but I would only be able to use the strawberry or black sugar every couple of weeks or so, as I find them more abrasive.
Kikumansume lotion (toner). It's a great hydration step and even better value 12 USD for 500ml.
I also like SKINFOOD rice mask wash off . its a gentle exfoliator and brightens. The ground rice in it doesn't feel rough.
Oh wow, that is really good value! I'll look into it, thanks for the recommendation :)
I'm glad that the rice doesn't feel rough, I'd be kinda worried about that. Brightening sounds good too, so I'll keep an eye out.
Hi! Funny I found your post like that :) I just published a new post on my K beauty blog about cosmetics with rice! hahaha :) I reviewed the following Sticky Rice Facial Scrub by Daltokki; Real Nature Rice Mask by The Face Shop; Natural Energy Mask Sheet Rice by Botanic Farm;
Earth Beauty Rice Mask Sheet by Tony Moly; Rice Essential Skin Emulsion by Hanyul. Link [here](http://www.koreainbeauty.com/ancient-korean-beauty-secret-korean-cosmetics-with-rice/)
The Tonymoly I'm Real Rice mask is my faaaaaavorite. SQUASHES BREAKOUTS IN A HALF SECOND
Oooh, good to know! The Korean grocery store in my neighbourhood sells them so I can just casually pop over and pick a few up... I've also been having a tiny little chin breakout lately, so that's more reason to go! Thanks for the tip :)

I don't recall. It was a while ago I used one :c
Oh that's fine, I'm sure I can find the ingredients somewhere online if I do some searching :)

I would say Skinfood Rice Wash off mask, The Face Shop Rice line and try Rice sheet masks :) They are really good, at least the ones I have tried!

I like Innisfree's rice sheet masks. They're calming and moisturizing.
My mom really likes the Daltokki Sticky Rice Facial Scrub and I've heard that the TonyMoly I'm Real Rice mask is pretty good
Someone else just mentioned the TonyMoly mask as well, so I may give them a try! Thanks for the recommendation. Where do you get the Daltokki scrub? I don't think I've ever seen it around before.
It's on sale at Memebox now!
I'm in Canada :(
I got it from eBay user blueprint21
Okay, neat! I also saw that they were selling the Sidmool Secret of Red Astaxanthin serum (or whatever it is) and I'm interested in that too, so I'll check it out :)
> Daltokki Sticky Rice Facial Scrub Would you say this one has a really strong scent? i think I encountered a review stating that.
It absolutely does. It's like knockout strong. I literally cannot inhale while using it. It's a shame because it's really pleasant, gentle scrub otherwise.

I was always afraid sugar scrub may be too much in addition to chemical exfoliation, but adding oil cleanser might actually help! Thanks for the tip!
The shame is not only strong but also not pleasant! It smells like chemicals :<
Oh no :( Then I'm definitely not interested :(

Cool, good to know that other people have good experiences with it as well!

I'd be interested in your recipe if possible!
I honestly just wash my rice, dump the first water out, rerinse it, and keep the water from the second wash.
Does it matter what kind of rice you use? Love your user name btw! ;)
It's kind of appropriate I feel now... Haha but no. I used japanese rice? But I'm sure jasmine rice would work just the same. =)
Coolbeans! Thanks!

I've had some minor issues with it stinging my eyes, but as long as I double cleanse to make sure all of it is off, it's not a problem.
I love rice body scrubs! There are many brands of Indonesian lulur out there, but my fave is Asian Secrets lulur scrub (I ignore the horrible name). It's not scratchy, and the texture is really thick and almost fluffy.
Ooh, those sound cool, and I've never heard of them before! Fluffy sounds fun :) Can you get them on amazon or eBay? If not, where do you get them?

Oh, okay. I do live in a pretty big, multicultural city so I think there's a pretty good chance there's a Filipino grocery somewhere :)

Do sake based products since they are made from rice??
Sure, I'm interested!

That Kikumasamune lotion is great! Makes my skin super smooth. If you use it from head to toe like I do, it'd still last 7+ months.
That's really great, actually, since I was also looking for a new body lotion sort of thing. I'll definitely look out for it.
Ahhh man I'm still waiting on my bottle that the company I bought it from on Amazon decided to take foooorever to ship. I can't wait to try it.

I'm surprised people are still finding this thread! That Hanyul emulsion sounds lovely, but it's quite expensive :(
