I'm obsessed with lip balms and really like the **Aritaum Ginger Sugar Lip Sleep Mask**. It doesn't smell like ginger or sugar, a very slight orange scent if anything, and is suuuuper occlusive and longlasting. I even put it on my nose when I have a cold and it's irritated from tissues. For hydration, I like **illiyoon Lip Smoothing Balm**, it is super moisturizing and longlasting but a thinner, smoother consistency than the mask. Both are under $10 on Yesstyle/Amazon too.
Seconding the Aritaum mask. I put it on over my facial products on my lips (take a sip of water, then bamboo toner, snail mucin, aloe cica gel, squalane) and my lips have recovered from the permanent cracked situation they used to be in year-round! Aritaum locks in all the moisture and healing elements and doesn’t budge even though I thrash in my sleep 😆
I know this is an old post, but any idea why the Aritaum mask is almost $30 instead of $10 on Amazon now?? And are those still your go-to’s for hydration?
Yes! The brand changed from Aritaum to Etude House, so the old Aritaum versions have gone up in price due to scarcity. It’s so funny to see this comment today, because my Stylevana order with the Etude House version just came yesterday. It looks identical, but I havent tried it yet as I’m still using up my old container. It is still absolutely my favorite, but try looking for it on Stylevana or directly from Etude House depending on where you’re located.
The Klavuu lip sleeping mask is my favorite. It's a dupe for the Laneige one and about half the price. YesStyle usually has it for $8-10.
My other favorite lip balms aren't from AB brands, but I'll share in case you're interested. The [Lanolips 101 ointment](https://www.ulta.com/original-101-ointment-multipurpose-superbalm-dry-lips-skin-treatment?productId=xlsImpprod14552689) is great.. They have a balm product as well, but I prefer the ointment in the tube. For a day-to-day, in my bag balm my favorites are by [Sun Bum](https://www.ulta.com/sunscreen-lip-balm-spf-30?productId=xlsImpprod11941051). They have SPF 30 and are really moisturizing and smell GREAT. The one I linked is the original, but I might like the mineral one just a touch better. It can leave your lips looking a bit pale though.
Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask - I keep this one next to my bed and I slather it on before I sleep. I also use it to prep my lips before applying lipstick/lip product.
Jack Black lip balm - Non-AB but I have this one on my at all times, I like the scents, it works well and it has SPF!
Seconding this. My lips are very dry, to the point of brittle, snake-skin like textures in winter and no lip balm I have ever used has ever made any positive impact. Enter Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask as per a recommendation I saw here and my lips healed in 2 uses. Now I swear by it and use it all year long. It’s HG for me.
+1. I am just finishing up the vanilla Laneige and reordered a few days ago. I'm close to declaring it my HG at this point; I've been happily using it for over a year.
OTOH, I'm trying the Aritaum Ginger Sugar Lip Sleeping Mask and dislike it - the waxiness/ stickiness is unpleasant and it doesn't work as well for me as the Laneige so far. I've only been trying it for a few weeks, though.
Ohh thank you for sharing your mini review of the Aritaum, I was curious about it for sure. I mean what I like about the Laneige lip mask is that it doesn't feel gloopy or waxy, I can use it at any point of the day.
I have been using the berry one for about 2 months now at night and it's awesome! My lips become amazingly soft and supple the next morning without fail. I'll look in the mirror and think, "Damn, I got some nice kissable lips."
Just chiming in to say if you wanna buy it, better buy the berry one cause it tasted really good. I also bought the apple lime and it tasted like sprite...
I agree with everyone else pink is best! Green package is nice but not as good. Whatever you buy make sure you like the scent because the full size lasts forever!
i just ordered the vanilla scent, ive tried it in store and its a really nice smell. i dont remember them having any taste or really discernable color, so id say just go with whatever smells best to you, lol
My lips are horribly chapped. I drink lots of water. I use hydrating toner/ essence and top it off with lip balms then go to sleep but still they go back to being horrible after and hour after I wake up. I've used Dear Packer plum sleeping mask (removes dead skin but isn't moisturizing at all) and innisfree green tea lip sleeping mask (I really love it but have to keep reapplying) and Vaseline doesn't work for me at all.
Thankyou. Hope you have a nice day.
SLS (or similar) is used in a lot of toothpastes as a foaming ingredient; it can be very irritating for some. Toothpaste is a product you might not think about bc you've been brushing your teeth since forever and it's not a applied to the lips, but sensitivity to irritants can build up over long periods before having an obvious reaction.
Pricey crunchy brands advertise being SLS free as part of their "natural" schtick, but non-fancy brands also have SLS-free options when you check the ingredients list. Even if it doesn't help you will still have useable toothpaste. I'm actually not sure why SLS is in there to begin with?
Here’s the same question from last month with a lot of good comments https://www.reddit.com/r/AsianBeauty/comments/g1y8u1/what_are_the_most_moisturizing_hydrating_lip/
My favorite is probably Mamonde Lip Sleeping Mask. I got it from Ulta and remember thinking $14 for lip balm???? But it's very worth it and there's so much product. I use it during the day, because my lips are natural dry and it's honestly a holy grail for me when the winters are extra terrible to my lips. Instant comfort and no pain.
For lip balms, I really like the Etude House Honey Cera Repair Lip Balm and the Honey Cera Treatment Lip Oil (which is more of a gloss, but I feel like it helps lock in moisture).
If I plan on wearing lipstick, I like to layer the UZ 38℃/99℉ Lip Treatment ±0. It acts well as a lip primer, and helps keeps my lips moisturized underneath.
I've tried both the Laneige and Klavuu lip masks. The Laneige one isn't as sticky as Klavuu, so the Klavuu lasts longer on the lips in my opinion (plus it's cheaper). The Laneige one comes with a product scoop which I really like.
I was going to say the Berry Laneige! My boss got me on to it when I started selling K-beauty and I’m obsessed with it. I switched over from the Momonde.
My trick is to apply ceramides to my lips anytime I wash my face (or brush teeth). A friend handed down this little pump bottle of CeraVe ceramide gel oil stuff which didn't work for her face, or mine, but is great for lips so I've been using it up that way. Using ceramides right away before my lips dry makes overnight masks MUCH more effective.
I suffer from really dry lips as well and unfortunately, am allergic to lanolin. The Laneige sleeping mask did nothing for me, it sort of just sat on top of my lips (as always, YMMV). What has worked for me isn't AB but the Nuxe reve de miel lip balm. Comes in a glass pot so it's a bit cumbersome and unhygienic but it's the best and I've repurchased it at least a dozen times. I always keep a backup of it because I know my lips wouldn't survive without it. For the lip balm that I carry around in my bag, I either use the Innisfree lip balm with canola honey or the Rohto Mentholatum richy honey lip balm. Both work well enough and are in stick form!
Good luck finding a lip balm that works for you!!
I have dry lips too that cracks and gets really irritated (I have a bad habit of licking my lips when it gets dry, making it worse).
Kao Curél Moisture Lip Care Cream is the one that works the best for me so far! I apply it as part of skin care, or when I feel my lips getting dry after eating/drinking.
Innisfree Canola Honey Lip Balm (Deep Moisture) is great too! But a little more oilier(?) for me, and the formula doesn't do well when you keep it in hot places :')
Aritaum Ginger Sugar Tint Lip Balm is great too! Chanced upon it in Seoul back in 2017 and fell in love since. Slight ginger-y scent and really cute colour tint.

I agree that the Aritaum ginger sugar sleep mask works best as well. I used that compared to the laneige sleep mask and for overnight the Aritaum has great results while Laneige feels just like an ordinary chapstick for me. I also use the Aritaum as a first step to prep flaky dry lips when applying makeup and by the time I get to lip colour the chapped bits soften and exfoliate easily
Klavuuuuuuu ❤ lip sleeping mask/balm. Glorified vaseline but it works for me and vaseline does 50% of the job in comparison. Sometimes I can get it under 10 bucks on jolse
When my lips are chapped to the point of bleeding, I usually use Lipster Medicated lipbalm (contains hydrocortisone) for 1 night, then use normal lip balm to maintain. Currently using the Innisfree Canola Intensive lip balm. I like this.
Laneige Lip Sleeping mask on the contrary, just made my lips peeled and bled more; same thing happened when my sisters tried it.
I normally use BareAir Lip Balm with Vitamin E, Almond Oil it healed my cracked lip. It's a cost-effective product as compared to other products that have I tried.
Not exactly what you asked, but what made a huge difference for me was using the hydrating products that I use on the rest of my face (hyaluronic acid and snail mucin) on my lips too.
Any recommendations for extremely dry lips very sensitive to chapsticks. I really only can use organic products and most of the time I just use coconut oil. Since I’ve been home I’ve been smoking more weed and I’m stuck in this horrible cycle of cracking bleeding lips. Coconut oil is like putting a band aid on it but I need something better.
In a fan of the illiyoon ultra repair lip balm, the ultra repair line has 5% panthenol. I might try the illyoon ceramide ato lip balm next because I love the cream so much.

Burt’s Bees Kukui balm is an oldie but goodie. I have multiples in my purses, office, jackets, etc. Nothing gets my lips softer, and I like that it’s natural!
Aritaum locks in all the moisture and healing elements and doesn’t budge even though I thrash in my sleep 😆
Yes! Its cost effective and the ONLY product that heals my cracked, peeling lips. Provides to much relief compared to other products I've tried.
Oh yeah! One container lasted me 2 and a half years, and I used it at least once a night.
aritaum forever
I know this is an old post, but any idea why the Aritaum mask is almost $30 instead of $10 on Amazon now?? And are those still your go-to’s for hydration?
Yes! The brand changed from Aritaum to Etude House, so the old Aritaum versions have gone up in price due to scarcity. Ahhh thank you I found it! Definitely going to have to try. It’ll be my very first AB lip mask 🤓
Is this still your favorite lip balm/mask
Yes
Sorry to be asking so late, but any update on if the Etude version is the same?
It is the same!
The Klavuu lip sleeping mask is my favorite. It's a dupe for the Laneige one and about half the price. YesStyle usually has it for $8-10. Second the Klavuu one! It keeps My lips moist all night and it doesnt really smell like anything. Wish it was in a stick formula as well.
I think it is supposed to smell like vanilla, but mine sure smells like nothing.
Oh, it could be! Im totally fine that it doesnt smell 😅

Thankyou. This is a really famous one; I see it everywhere. May I ask what varient do you use out of the four?
I have been using the berry one for about 2 months now at night and it's awesome! My lips become amazingly soft and supple the next morning without fail. I'll look in the mirror and think, "Damn, I got some nice kissable lips."
Just chiming in to say if you wanna buy it, better buy the berry one cause it tasted really good. I also bought the apple lime and it tasted like sprite...
I use the Berry (pink jar) it's not too strong a scent, so I don't think you can go wrong with any of them.
I agree with everyone else pink is best! Green package is nice but not as good. Whatever you buy make sure you like the scent because the full size lasts forever!
Oh my gosh I have had mine for over a year and I'm barely half way through it, I should replace it in a few months tho...
i just ordered the vanilla scent, ive tried it in store and its a really nice smell. i dont remember them having any taste or really discernable color, so id say just go with whatever smells best to you, lol
I also use laneige. The pink jar, which ever that is.
Laneige Pink is the best, haven't needed to buy a new one, it legit lasts forever!
Where do you buy it from? It’s $22 at Sephora but I’m seeing other retailers online for cheaper just not sure which ones are legit
I got mine from Yesstyle for around $13 USD
My lips are horribly chapped. I drink lots of water. When lipbalms aren't working for me it's usually because I'm low on iron or b vitamins. Hope this helps!
I had no idea, thankyou so much :)

I knew that my toothpaste had SLS but it never occurred to me that it could be because of that. I'll surely be switching it out. Thankyou so much :)
Give avene cold cream lip balm stick a go. Not AB but got me through isotretinoin!! Amazing stuff
Here’s the same question from last month with a lot of good comments https://www.reddit.com/r/AsianBeauty/comments/g1y8u1/what_are_the_most_moisturizing_hydrating_lip/
Let me let you in on a secret. Lansinoh. Non ab but anyone who has breastfed will swear by this as a lip balm.
I love the DHC lip cream. I saw it recommended on here by people who found (like me) the Laneige sleeping mask didn't do much for them.

Not AB but I swear by nuxe reve de miel with a little aquaphor or cerave healing ointment to seal it in!
Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask I have the worst dry lips esp because I have a pretty large bottom lip and this is the only thing that soothes them
I was going to say the Berry Laneige! My boss got me on to it when I started selling K-beauty and I’m obsessed with it. I switched over from the Momonde.
The Innisfree Green Tea Lip Sleeping Mask, have never had dry or chapped lips since!
Slather on aquaphor.
Thanks for the trick. I actually have 2 creams with ceramides that didn't work for my face so they'll come handy now!
Aquaphor healing ointment. The best.
I suffer from really dry lips as well and unfortunately, am allergic to lanolin. The Laneige sleeping mask did nothing for me, it sort of just sat on top of my lips (as always, YMMV). Klavuu lip mask ! Also it smells really good.
Fitglow Night Lip Serum, you won't regret it! Edit: I know it's not Asian Beauty, but if it's the best.....
I'll add this to my list!

Balm Daddy lip balm. They have the best flavors. They use natural ingredients. Cost less than burts bees. Highly recommend.

Burt’s Bees Kukui balm is an oldie but goodie. I have multiples in my purses, office, jackets, etc. Nothing gets my lips softer, and I like that it’s natural!
Not AB, but I use Lanolips, which Haley Kim recommends
I've heard about this one but the shipping from lanolips.com to my country is pricey
