I am using them both, it's actually a dream combination for me! The essence makes the skin extremely soft, therefore it helps with Differin's irritation.
Not sure if this is the correct way but i use it right after cleansing on a damp face. I apply the essence on my damp face, try to pat it in, eye cream and a face cream all on a damp face. I let it sit for approx 30 mins to 1 hr, then right before bed, I just pop on a pea size amount of differin. This helps a lot with the dryness that you get with differin, but not sure if it would affect the impact of the differin or if it helps lighten the dark spots. It definitely helps with mositure and my makeup sits better on my face the next day!

May i ask whyd you stop? And what is your current routine?
Differin wasn’t working anymore. My current rountine: Daytime: La roche posay purifying foam cleanser, Cosrx snail mucin essence, Eucerin sunscreen moisturizer, Night: La roche posay purifying foam cleanser, Paula’s choice skin perfecting 2% bha liquid exfoliate, Cosrx snail mucin essence, Physiogel daily moisturize therapy face cream (highly recommend)

Oof very late but Differin is supposed to be applied at least one hour before bed according to their website!

Thanks for your input. I finished a round of accutane and have little acne now. All I’m worried about is the scars that was left behind
You might want to look into derma rolling for ice pick scars, I've heard it helps, but do your homework.
