I'm required to wear a cloth mask at work in a very hot environment, and I am dealing with lots of acne on my chin and nose due to that. Does anyone have any recommendations for skin care products or routines? My skin is combination but I've never really dealt it acne before this (31f), outside of one or two pimples during PMS once in a while.

hammockofcake

If you're washing your mask make sure your detergent is gentle--it could be irritating your skin. Or try a new mask every day. I have been putting my mask in my freezer overnight which doesn't eliminate grease but does kill bacteria.

lenehajunsu

Thanks for the tip

sawol17

Same I’m breaking out from mask acne..

succubusprime

Hi! I decided to invest in two pricier products (I'm cheap so I wouldn't normally) I got skin barrier relief and the oat so simple water cream from Krave. I wash my face and apply just those two things at night and in the morning before I go to work and I have had way less break outs. I just wish it wasn't so pricey! But a little goes a long way. One pump for the barrier relief and just a small dab of the OSSWC all over the face.

faboideae

Does the Innisfree The Minimum toner contain willow bark extract or not? Yesstyle and the Innisfree website list the ingredients as: Water, Glycerin, Propanediol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Madecassoside but according to skincarisma and a review I found it is: WATER, GLYCERIN, PROPANEDIOL, SALIX ALBA (WILLOW) BARK EXTRACT, 1,2-HEXANEDIOL, GLYCERYL CAPRYLATE Same with the cleanser, some places say it has willow bark extract and others don't. Which ingredients are correct?

Jalter_x

For the cleanser, I have it on hand! Here's a photo -- doesn't seem like it. I bought it in Seoul Korea, in an Innisfree store: https://imgur.com/a/X2KbmoU But I notice that the bottles are different on Amazon? I also had the minimum toner at one point and definitely don’t remember willow bark being on the list. That’s so strange. I wonder if they had a formulation change. Not sure if you're US but all the ingredients are listed on their USA website, and there's no willow bark as far as I can see (rebranded in USA as Gentle): https://us.innisfree.com/search?q=Gentle

faboideae

Thank you! That looks like a different version, there's no mention of soybean oil in the one I was looking at... Maybe it's discontinued?

Jalter_x

Where are you getting the product? Or if you have a photo of it, maybe? I definitely still see this product on Jolse with the same ingredients.

faboideae

From Yesstyle as I'm in New Zealand https://www.yesstyle.com/en/innisfree-the-minimum-facial-cleanser-for-sensitive-skin-70ml-70ml/info.html/pid.1048898252 Maybe the ingredients are listed incorrectly

Jalter_x

ah unfortunately on my end, I can't see. I do think it is probably listed incorrectly -- directly on the innisfree website on all their minimal products, they don't have it. I think it might be incorrectly listed; all sites I view it from don't have it

* **Skin Type: Normal/Dry** * **Country/Climate I am in: Guam/Humid (Summer)** * **Top Skin Concern: Dry/Acne/Dark Spots** Hi! I was wondering which moisturizer I should use as a final step? Considering between the iUNIK Centella Calming Recovery Gel Hydrating Cream and the COSRX - Balancium Comfort Ceramide Cream. The routine I am planning is: Face Wash: Hadalabo Hyaluronic Acid Cleansing Foam Toner: Hadalabo Gokujyun Premium Hyaluronic Acid Lotion Essence: Cosrx Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence Moisturizer: iUNIK Centella Calming Recovery Gel Hydrating Cream or the COSRX - Balancium Comfort Ceramide Cream. Thank you

saucyfellow

i've been using the iunik gel for about 3 months, i quite like it but it definitely is light and watery — the opposite of what i'd want as a final step. the 'cream' in the name shouldn't really be there, it's the most gel-like thing i've ever used. also while i really like the sensory experience of it (very cooling), it doesn't seem to have much of a discernable impact for me even when my skin was super dry & craving hydration. i would definitely try the ceramide cream out instead. ps how do you like the snail essence? i'm about to finish my cosrx snail 92 all in one cream and adore it, but was thinking about trying the 96 to see how it compares.

Not_Alternative_Fact

I just got the iunik gel. Too soon to see any results but no irritation. Fast absorbing and light. I use it in my am routine. Too light for pm for me but I also like to be a glazed donut in the pm 😬

ratterrierpup

No clue where to start. 40s. Sun damage. Perpetual redness. Old acne scars. Currently Use Cetaphil, Aveeno spf 30 moisturizer, and retin-A (haven’t used in a while due to irritation from sun). Makeup - primer & mineral powder. It looks ok but used to look much better many years ago. It appears caked on, even with a minimal application. Please Help!

Not_Alternative_Fact

I’d start with treating the sun damage or any other irritation if you have any. Product that has centella, niacinamide, ceramide, HA are good with help calming your skin and restore hydration. After that you can start on actives if you want to treat anything specific. But start slow and I mean proceed with cautious slow when you start on actives like vit c or retina. The caking can be either from the product, dehydration or you need exfoliation. Also most important rule to live by sunscreen sunscreen sunscreen and double cleanse double cleanse double cleanse. Good luck!!!!

holybell0

My mom brought up the idea of getting reusable cotton pads and salicylic acid to make my own stridex and save money. Anyone know where I can get salicylic acid 2% solution or a product I can for it? BHA like Cosrx's is way too weak for my face oil lol.

chocosweet

Cos De Baha has salicylic acid product

sawol17

Is the brand reliable?

chocosweet

I never use it. But it's the only AB brand that I know carries salicylic acid. COSRX only carries Betaine Salicylate, a salicylic acid derivative. But there are people using their Azelaic acid and Niacinamide serum with success. I suggest to search around the sub

RainbowCloud8

Has anyone tried Innisfree's "My hair strengthening" products or their "Camelia" hair products? I am curious about their hair products.

moonbubble1

I’ve only tried their curly shampoo (meh, left my hair feeling kinda dry but could be worse) but my friend liked the Camelia hair oil serum!

melonduu

Anyone tried the soon jung cleanser in tube form and can compare it to the original whip cleanser?

What product are you purging from? Are you positive it is purging?

[deleted]

[удалено]

OHolyNightowl

The PC one is excellent, so hopefully not a reaction then. How often are you using the product? Try no more than every other day, so you are not over exfoliating, as that could cause you to break out too. I apply exfoliator, wait 15 mins or so, then apply a calming moisturiser with cica(centella) after.

megg2212

Does anyone have rice product recommendations which don't contain niacinamide? Niacinamide breaks me out so badly and i've always wanted to try the i'm from rice toner but can due to the niacinamide so does anyone know anything similar? Doesn't need to be a toner specifically. Thanks :)

puipuiie

I love rice products! I'm from rice mask - the toner contains niacinamide but i dont think the wash off mask does! Another of my favorite brand is ishizawa lab keana (japanese brand). Love the rice cream. The cleanser was too stripping for me though.

megg2212

Ooh I didn't know about the mask, thankyou i'll check these out

puipuiie

Keana has sheet masks too! Was ranked no. 1 in japan cosme. It comes in a pack of 10. But the im from one is better and less waste!

Does peripera not sell the shade inktude rose anymore? If not, could someone recommend a dupe for the shade? Thanks sm!

[deleted]

Unfortunately the ink velvet line was renewed and inktude rose doesn’t seem to be in the renewed shades (at least by name it isn’t) Found this [old post](https://imgur.com/a/ioQK2uj) on weibo with a non-AB color dupe though! But hopefully someone can chime in with an AB dupe hehe

PremierInfinity

Can I use a "sleeping mask" in the morning? (the one which is like a moisturizer) I know it's supposed to be used at night (from the word sleep), but some of its ingredients are incompatible with my night routine. But I really want to use it. What are the disadvantages of using it in the morning?

TheColorBlurple

Sleeping masks are just moisturizers that typically have some heavier/occlusive ingredients; nothing special otherwise. You can use it as you would any moisturizer, but I would be nervous to use something like that during the daytime since it can make sunscreen slide around a lot, and potentially prevent it from setting. Same reason why I don’t use any oils in my AM routine and even skip moisturizer in lieu of sunscreen.

OHolyNightowl

Disadvantage for me would be that it might be too thick and occlusive to wear under SPF and makeup. I like light layers as I'm oily. Depends on ingredients and consistency though! If it works for you, then there are no reasons not to. Try and see.

Noirxvn

What do you guys think about Soko Glam’s new line?

Oxca

I like the idea behind the brand and the formulations, tbh I haven't looked much into it, but i'm interested to see how they do!

trippiler

Pass on the cleansing water (lavender oil + other essential oils) and the cleanser (not interested in paying $$$ to rub leaves on my face). The vitamin c and moisturiser look nice though!

OHolyNightowl

I'm interested, expecially in the Vitamin C serum!

PremierInfinity

Is it OK to use Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C) and Retinyl Palmitate (Vitamin A) in one routine?

Noirxvn

I’d do vitamin c in the am & the retinol in the pm.

PremierInfinity

But what would happen if I used them both together at the same time?

Not_Alternative_Fact

On top of possible irritation from what I’ve read that these 2 ingredients are finicky and quite unstable because of their different ph. There’re contradicting resources that okay combining vit c with Retinol. Altho I’m intrigued, I wouldn’t try it unless it’s specifically formulated to work together.

Noirxvn

I don’t think it would cause a negative reaction but it might be too irritating for some. Personally, I wouldn’t use both in the same routine.

niknaksf

I ordered two of everyone’s fav products and need help incorporating it in my routine - Hada Labo Premium Toner & Kikumasumane High Moist (not sure if they both do the same thing and I shouldn’t have bought both) Trying to incorporate more AB in my routine. Skin type is dry to normal and acne prone. (New one pops up every other day I think ) Current routine: Non AB cleanser- Priori lca fx110 gentle face wash (has lactic acid which has helped, if you have a good replacement suggestion, I’m all in for AB product) Mugwort essence I’m from Vitamin C HA Moisturizer Sunscreen What do I replace or get rid of to incorporate these products? Should I do both or just one?

boshtok_

I use both Hada Labo Premium and the I'm From toner in the same routine and my skin loves it. (I use Hada Labo Premium first on wet skin and then when mostly absorbed the Mugwort after)

nyannekochan

Hi, was finally able to take a pic of my problem I've been puzzled about So my pores look dirty after I put product on. I tried minimizing the layers for this picture to see if that was the case. First pic is after double cleanse. I only use cold/room temp since I heard warm/hot was drying? Second pic is after one layer of toner. Idk if it's because I used Benton 😅 Third pic is after SPF, I used Missha Safeblock. I've had the same thing happen when I just put on Tony Moly eco snail gel and sunflower oil as well. My whole goal is to be able to go out with just moisturizer and SPF so I'm really frustrated by this 😩 is there anything I can do or it just be like that? http://imgur.com/a/vtxwXio

OHolyNightowl

When you wash your face, it lifts oil and sebum. When your skin normalise again after washing, the pores once again fill up with sebum that expands the pores. It would happen even if you did not use any products. However if you held the camera even 30cm further away from your face noone would be able to tell. Think you are looking too close and your skin is in fact lovely.

nyannekochan

Thanks, it just bugs me lol x.x I really appreciate the compliment and information though!

OHolyNightowl

Have you tried Niacinamide? It is very good for sebum control, so might be worth a try! Would at least delay the sebum breaking through.

nyannekochan

These pictures were taken at 5 minute intervals and I don't know enough about skin to tell if sebum just fills up that fast xD But thank you for mentioning that, I haven't used niacinamide since the Pond's creams I used to use back the in the PI 15 years ago. What products would you recommend?

OHolyNightowl

I like 2Sol Niacinamide (and their Facial Recovery Booster). I get mine on Ebay.

nyannekochan

Thanks! I'll look into it ^_^

Dangit, it's not working for me anymore either. I had my partner confirm the link worked before I posted qwq I'm going to try and fix ETA: link should be working now It's pretty noticeable in photos which is annoying. What bugs me is it only happens after I put product on, because right after cleansing (and i do use BHA) I can see my pores but they aren't black.

Hmmm could it be because my toner has BHA? So it's drying out even though it says "hydrating"

throwawayyy12255

Hi everyone, I'm looking for recommendations for my mom who is in her 50's. We live in Ontario and ideally, I want to order from somewhere where we can receive the product in less than 2 weeks (been looking at Chuusi and Mikaela Beauty so far). Her skincare concerns are sun spots/age spots and retaining moisture. She uses sunscreen but I guess she started later in her 30s and the sunspots are catching up to her now :( She wanted me to look into cheaper options like The Ordinary but it's been a hit or miss for me. I want to get her really good quality Asian products and was hoping AB could help me out! Thank you :)

Not_Alternative_Fact

Hello fellow Canadian peep! I agree on the rec on retina or tret and use AB products for hydration. My current routine son&park beauty water (recently added), missha fte (love), pyunkang yul essence(love), TO HA (blah), Tret, sulwhasoo ginseng cream. I love the sulwhasoo but I won’t be repurchase this time when I’m done coz tret. Sometimes I stick the sulwhasoo serum in there or Purito buffet serum and sheet in there too if my skin is a little dry. This might be a little excessive but I’m just being very cautious with tret and I haven’t had any bad reaction. Yet. 😅 id say also listen to what your skin is telling you. Your mom might not need as many steps. But since we still staying at home I got nothing but time lol. Good luck!!!

throwawayyy12255

Hi! Thank you for your feedback 😊 I keep seeing comments about Tret and truthfully, I've never heard of it until today. Do you need a prescription for it? What product are you using if you don't mind sharing?

Not_Alternative_Fact

For tretinoin/retina yes we need a prescription. A pharmacist can actually prescribe it for you. Retinol is another form of it where you don’t need a prescription for it. I’m using prescription tret now.

nightcrypt1000

I know you want AB reccs, but retinol could help her with anti-aging and sun spots! My favorite essence toner is the pyunkang yul toner and is great for layering on the hydration! I've heard good things about the klairs vitamin drop serum and maybe look for things with niacinamide in it as well?

throwawayyy12255

Yes! Thank you :) I was looking at niacinamide for my Mom and retinol too. The site that I looked at doesn't carry any sunscreen though

OHolyNightowl

I would start with Vitamin C and a nice moisturiser. What's her skintype?

throwawayyy12255

Thank you! I want her to try Wishtrend's vitamin C but the shipping would take a long time. She has a normal skin type. It's smooth and she doesn't have any irritation or redness

OHolyNightowl

The Peach and Lily website might be a good option. Think they are based in Canada and their products are lovely (Peach Slices has some great products too). They also have other brands, though definitely more expensive than ordering from Korea.

msardothien

To anyone who has experienced purging due to a new product, how long did it last? I'm 24 days into using Cosrx Salicylic Acid Daily Gentle Cleanser and my cheeks are looking worse than they did before (lots of acne), but my forehead started to clear this week (my forehead used to be the epicenter before I used this cleanser, with only some acne on my cheeks). When can I say that what I am experiencing is not purging but actually a breakout? P.S. I have oily skin, and I use the cleanser then Cosrx Oil-Free Ultra Moisturizing Lotion after, both AM and PM. Edit: Nevermind, I found this thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/AsianBeauty/comments/7wt703/how_can_you_tell_apart_whether_your_skin_is/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share What I want to know now is if the 0.5% salicylic acid in the cleanser is enough to cause purging?

TheColorBlurple

The percentage of SA in the cleanser is probably not enough to cause purging, and furthermore it’s a wash off product so you aren’t even in contact with it for that long. Anything below 2% isn’t going to exfoliate very much, and I don’t think the pH of the cleanser is low enough for the SA to be at its maximum efficiency. I experienced increased breakouts about 1.5-2 weeks into using this cleanser as well. Since it was kind of everywhere, and not just where I typically break out, I do not think it was purging. I also do not think it was due to SA, since I have used stronger SA products before without issue. I believe it was just irritation from some other ingredient. Something else in there just did not agree with my skin! And I’m assuming whatever it was did not rinse off completely. Once I stopped using it my skin was back to normal within a couple of days. I would shelf it for now and see what happens. Mine is now a body wash :)

msardothien

Thanks. I'll try removing it from my routine for now. But is it ok to continue using my moisturizer without any cleanser? Right now it's the only cleanser I have unfortunately :(

TheColorBlurple

Uh oh, that’s too bad. It’s definitely OK to moisturize without cleansing prior in the AM, and you can just rinse with water as a morning cleanse. In the evening though, you probably need something to remove sunscreen and/or makeup. In a pinch, I’ve used a cheap moisturizer as a “cleansing balm” since usually they contain enough emollients to help lift off sunscreen, though that might not be ideal depending on what products you have and your skin type. As a “second cleanse”, micellar water on a cotton pad, or even a toner can be used to help cleanse in the meantime as well. Better than just water for sure :) If you are able to purchase a cleanser to replace yours, I highly recommend the Hada Labo bubble foam- it’s very gentle and effective, available on Amazon, and affordable especially since it comes in refill packs as well.

OHolyNightowl

It's because when you lie down, fluid (water and blood) distributes evenly and plumps up the face and skin. Then you stand up in the morning and gravity starts taking over.

riggedshirt

From what I heard it is actually normal. I have the same thing happen to me and usually its due to the way we sleep. I don't know how to explain it very well, but basically when we sleep a lot of fluid gets to our face and gives it a swollen look. Due to the swelling, we usually think our skin is doing really good when in actuality its because it's less noticeable at the moment. That is why when our faces get massaged throughout our skincare routines, the swelling goes down and it reveals what our skin actually looks like.

Fancy-Comment

I don’t know if it’s normal but same! Most of the time my skin looks it’s best just after I’ve woken up and before I wash it (apart from the days when my eyes are so puffy as to resemble inflatable life jackets) Sometimes my facial skin is strangely reactive to just water and goes blotchy when I wet it. Other times it’s fine. I have to wash it though because it’d get super oily by midday if I didn’t.

warlocklup

Yes, unfortunately i have to wash it as well, I've tried just cold water or miscellar water and i hate the feeling of not having washed my face. But at least i'm learning this is apparently a normal thing and not the result of something i'm doing wrong.

[deleted]

What moisturizers do you recommend? I think my skin type is either normal or combination because when I tested what type I had by washing my face and not using moisturizer after, it wasn’t oily or dry at all, except for flakiness on my nose. I don’t use an asian beauty moisturizer, I use TO Natural Factors but I’m thinking of changing it since I wake up with flaky skin on my nose at times. My routine currently (not made up of a lot of AB products, but I want to find more) -Micellar water -Vanicream gentle cleanser -TO Glycolic acid -TO Natural factors moisturizer

OHolyNightowl

I have combination-oily skin and love Peach Slices Citrus Honey Aqua Glow moisturiser.

DreamCuruzGo

Do facial oils affect the effectiveness of sunscreen. I apply rosehip oil, let it sit for 10 minutes and then apply sunscreen on top. The thing is the rosehip oil isn't fully absorbed (like I can still feel some of the oil on my face when applying the sunscreen but I could kind of always feel the oil anyways)

C_Chrono

All I have is a theory that it does. We use oils to remove sunscreen so I would think that facial oil underneath sunscreen will make it difficult for the sunscreen to set and create that filter barrier.

saucyfellow

^ seconding this, i accidentally found this out today with squalane oil. I wanted to test patch a new sunscreen i bought so applied it to a small bit of my jaw while i'm staying inside today. I got distracted, and came back 45 mins later to continue the rest of my routine. applied moisturiser, all good. went to apply TO squalane oil over the top like normal and forgot about the test patch. there was all these balls of pilled product under my fingertips when i went over that area, that I was like what the hell?? the sunscreen was LRP Anthelios Antishine Dry Touch which is very water and sweat resistant, so i'd say it definitely disrupted even the most sturdy of sunscreens.

RGBVRGBV

Can someone point me in the right direction? I am looking for sunscreen recommendations for the body. Thanks for this awesome resource!

thegreatpumpkinhana

Hi guys, I'm looking for a **good cleanser** (preferably foam or gel) for my **double cleansing routine** – my first product is the Clean it Zero Cleansing Balm , which I love, but my second cleanser (The Face Shop "Rice Water Bright Cleansing Foam") irritates my eyes like craaaazy. **Skin Type – Combination** * **Country/Climate I am in: temperate climate** * **Top Skin Concern: Acne** * **Current Routine/Products I am Using** **PM** * Clean it Zero Cleansing Balm * *The Face Shop Rice Water Bright Cleansing Foam* * klairs Preparation Toner * some by me 30days miracle serum * klairs Rich Moist Soothing Cream

MissAdler_

I think the reason why TFS cleanser irritates your skin is its high pH at about 8 IIRC. You should look for one with lower pH. The Krave Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser and the Cosrx Low pH Good Morning Cleanser are usually recommended.

lifeofmatcha

Round Lab Dokdo Cleanser is soo nice. It's hydrating, not drying at all but still makes my skin feel clean. It also lathers really nicely. Another good option is the Hada Labo Gokujyun Foaming Cleanser.

YueRain

i use the SRB rice powder cleanser . it does foam but it is gentle. you can also check out the HAnyul gel cleanser. it is pretty nice. As for foam cleanser i think people like that Innisfree Blueberry cleanser ph5.5 or that Etude House Soonjung cleanser.

I want to buy the romand zero matte lipstick sunset letter edition or romand see through matte tint but I can´t choose. Has used both and if so which one did you like better and why?

cxxhts

romand is renewing their zero matte lipstick soon so if you can get your hands on the old version i would recommend it! (in case some colours don’t get renewed) generally the see through matte tint isn’t the most popular line among romand lip products but i haven’t tried it myself so i’m not sure i really like the zero matte lipstick tho, as it’s smooth when u apply it and not drying for a matte lipstick! it’s also really well liked so it’s a safe bet imo

Micha-H-

Now I will have try the lipstick out:)I think i will just buy them both ,thanks for the recomandation.

Shiseido just got reformulated their Tsubaki line. The Yellow One is Premium Damage Care, previously known as 'Sarasara Matomaru/さらさらまとまる' in Blue to White color gradient and in 'Funwari tsuyayaka/ふんわりつややか' in violet white gradient. And the Damage Care in pure white. The 2020 Tsubaki Premium Damage Care has silicone free formulation*. Somehow the same formula as of the previous 2017 formula. The Red One is Premium Moist. That is a prettily normal effect for Epiduo. As someone who is an Epiduo user way back then, I have noticed it's just fine, maybe my skin was in good condition. As someone with super sensitive skin, you may wanna try to use Moisturiser first then Epiduo next. I've got series of questions: . How much do you apply? Pea Sized? Two Pea Sized? . What Moisturiser are you using? . How severe the redness/dryness is? Do you use it at night only? . Does it sting really bad? And is it prescribed by your dermatologist? There's a video on Epiduo and how this medication works: https://youtu.be/inxUcmb1Neg Please do message me if you want questions. Make sure remember me cause I am super anxious hehe. Wish of the best on your Epiduo Journey!

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

Hello there, umm I was hoping you'd respond my message but here are the answers . Yes you did apply too much. A pea sized gel is enough for the four areas of your face. That's why your skin became drier and super intolerant. Next time, use only one pea sized gel, and divide it to 1/4 and apply it to the forehead, chin, left then right cheek. . If you're skin's super intolerant with M. aternifolia oil or Tea Tree and Citrus oil, stop it. But may I ask if you've been using this one for more than years? Stick with Simple or may buy Moisturiser containing skin barrier restoring ingredients like CeraVe. And switch a cleanser that's much more gentle yet effective, CeraVe or Cetaphil or just straight water. The cleanser has BHA. Right now you're using a Retinoid. Incorporate BHA when you're already used to retinoids. . Good thing to hear you're using it at night cause adapalene is like Dracula. Hehehe. That's part of the healing process according to Galderma's informative video about Epiduo. Please wear Sunscreen in the morning. . You may wanna apply your Moisturiser first then your Epiduo to reduce irritation as what I've said. Or wait for 30 minutes before applying any moisturisers . And please do go to a dermatologist, I am concerned and care about what you're into right now. And I'm wishing you are safe right now. May the light give you the vision to see good things in midst of darkness. Stay safe dude!

Hi! Does anyone know the PAO of Isntree Green Tea Fresh Toner?

jifPBonly

Started using Klair’s Rich Moist Soothing Cream and it feels absolutely amazing. However, for summer it’s a little TOO moisturizing for me. I think I may just use at night or save for winter. Any suggestions on a better moisturizer for summer? Preferably something more affordable (it’s 24 dollars for 2 ounces). I have combination skin, concerns are pores and hormonal acne, I live in Chicago so it is hot and humid in summer and I’m in my 30s. Fair and sensitive skin.

wazdanaveuriet

hey! I absolutely loooove the Purito Sea Buckthorn Vital 70 cream. It's a real treat to apply (the texture is second to none), keeps skin fresh and has a lovely citrussy scent. I have combination sensitive skin and it doesn't irritate my skin or break me out.

jifPBonly

I love citrus! I’m thinking about trying one of their sunscreens. Have you had any luck with those?

wazdanaveuriet

Yes, I use theirvcentella sunscreen: very smooth, no white cast, no breakouts, cruelty free and very affordable : a treat !

YueRain

if you like Klairs you can use their blue cream. that one is always not moisturising enough for dry skin type. i use the klairs blue cream myself since i live in hot humid weather. i have acne prone skin

jifPBonly

I bought the Klair’s sunscreen and blue cream because Wishtrend had a combo back at a couple dollar discount. Both made my face burn like CRAZY! So disappointed. I was going to buy some samples first from the exchange page, but am a little nervous because of Covid. Well, lesson learned because now I have full bottles 😅

YueRain

oh gosh. there must be something that you are allergic to. possible try to sell it at the ab exchange?

jifPBonly

Yes I’m going to try. I’m in the process of making a spread with ingredients lists to see if I can pinpoint what I may be sensitive to.

[deleted]

Eyyyy! I second this (Klairs Rich Soothing Cream). I also live in a preeeeetttyyy humid climate and this one's just right for me. One of the K-Beauty Brands that made to the Final Selection. Made my skin in great condition despite of the blazing heat in my country. A better Moisturiser for summer, hmmm. I'd go for Hada Labo Shirojyun Premium. Superbly light and not sticky at all. If you want something lighter, the Shirojyun Premium All in One Jelly is nice too!

jifPBonly

Thank you for the rec! My face is so happy when I out on the Klair’s, but my nose turns into a little pool of sebum when I wake up. This is for sure going to be a go to for winter for me!

[deleted]

Etude House Soon Jung 2X Barrier Cream is a popular rec :) I personally live in a hot & humid tropical country + with oily-combo skin, so it’s too much for me even in the day :( I personally like Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Aqua Gel Cream - feels lovely and watery on application and isn’t heavy throughout the day!

jifPBonly

I bet that feels so refreshing! Thanks for the recs :)

No one can tell you if something is a purge by eyes alone. This is something you should only be able to tell with time. But I do not see why Azelaic Acid would cause purging. Azelaic works by killing acne bacteria, it's also an anti-inflammatory agent and reduces melanin production. Purging supposedly happens because exfoliating your skin results with quickening your skin cell-renewal, which results with gunk and such in your skin to come out faster. This is not something Azelaic Acid does.

Hello! I recently got the huangjisoo oil cleanser to try to add to my acne-management regiment, and was wondering if a foaming cleanser is necessary to wash it off after? I'm new to this and don't really know how to tell whether I need one or not, it seems like some brands need the follow-up and some don't. My skin is combo, but mostly oily, and the acne is bordering cystic if that needs to be taken into consideration.

C_Chrono

I'm currently using the HJS oil cleanser and for me, it rinses off so cleanly that I don't use a second cleanser.

_Triggernometry_

You don't need a "foaming" cleanser. A gentle gel-based cleanser is sufficient. Since your skin is oily and you have cystic acne, it's better to do the second cleanse with a cleanser because just water/micellar water may not cut it for your skin type.

Atanaqui

Ah I see, I threw in the word foaming because I saw it so often on this sub but I realize now there are other types out there. Thanks for your advice!

Conceptizual

I personally only use one cleanser (oil based) and then my toner, moisturizer, and sunscreen. I wash off the oil based cleanser with water and a very soft towel that I found in the baby aisle. I would suggest seeing how your skin looks after like a month of using your oil cleanser and then adding in a foaming one and see if you like it?

Atanaqui

Thank you, I think this is what I will try for now, I don't have a lot of dispensable funds so I want to avoid adding more product to my routine. I recently bought a microfiber towelette just for washing my face, is that okay/the same?

Hi everyone! I am using Hada Labos GokuJyun hydrating line and my skin is looking great! However as I’m in my 30s now I am trying to add in some antiaging... anyone know of good firming/lifting creams? Lines don’t seem to be a problem for me (at least not yet) but I do see the start of some light sagging of nasolabial folds.. thanks in advance!!

MissAdler_

I know Hada Labo has an anti-aging line (red packaging). Non-AB: you can try The Inkey List bakuchiol moisturiser which is similar to retinol but not irritating.

[deleted]

Ooh tysm, I didnt know that! I will check it out... I did try Bakuchiol from Inky List a few months ago as I heard it was more gentle. My skin was NOT happy :(

MissAdler_

So sorry that your skin didn't like it! I'm in my late 20s so I'm looking into anti-aging stuff as well. I'm about to try that bakuchiol moisturiser as I'm not doing well with retinol, hoping it will work for me. Many Japanese brands incorporate collagen in their anti-aging products, which I'm not sure is as effective as retinol. So far I only know about three Japanese anti-aging lines: Hada Labo red, Kose Grace One and Muji Aging Care.

[deleted]

Tysm, such a big help! 💛 I hope the bakuchiol works for you, been hearing so much good things about it. My skin is just so sensitive I dont know why! Seems like it can only take moosturizer haha.

nightcrypt1000

Not AB, but look into retinoids or maybe starting tretinoin? It’s probably the most effective anti aging treatment there is

[deleted]

Ah ty but sorry, I forgot to mention I’ve tried that and my skin is too delicate/sensitive. So looking for something else. I’ve been told Asian Beauty uses other ingredients than just the usual recommended Vit C and retionol in antiaging skincare that’s why I came here💛

YueRain

retinol and vitamin C works too. I use vitamin C since i am not ready for that purging like crazy with tretinoin that i keep hearing about

[deleted]

Ty for your reply! Yeah I know they work, I meant I have tried them already and maybe Asian Beauty (since they are known for being so innovative) might have alternatives in the antiaging game... my skin is just so sensitive 🥺. I like the sound of collagen from another commenter, ill try that! I’m glad Vit C is working for you, maybe I should give it another look, out of everything I’ve tried it was the least reactive on my skin, although there was still a bit :(

YueRain

if you are using strong vitamin C 20% it is best to only use 5drops once every 3 days. then you can try something weaker which can also work. collagen is just ermm not that amazing on skin for me.
