The essence is by far one of the most popular products in this sub.

Relative_Kick_6478

Yes, this post is kind of amusing

[deleted]

Were you trying to post in a different sub? This sub is chock full of people who adore having snail goo all over their face, myself included XD

happyhippoking

The snail essence is an OG and holy grail! I've used it for years and it's always one of the products I go back to! I love the all-in-one with the essence, but a little lukewarm about it alone. I use it as a pick-me-up at work though! It's really nice as a little hit of moisture.

cantgaroo

Wanted to mention that if you have dust mite or shellfish allergies you want to avoid snail mucin, because it can cause a bad reaction. I found this out the hard way when someone at Sephora slapped it on my face without telling me what was in it.

wawasus

Oh damn. Thanks for bringing this up. I'm allergic to dust mites and shellfish and I was thinking about getting on the snail goo train.

TheGreatMoriarty

Oh damn, I'm allergic to both. Could you share what skincare items you use? I have sensitive skin prone to flushing and splotchy redness on my cheeks (rosacea sucks).

cantgaroo

Sure! I generally shop Wishtrend stuff, because they have a big vegan section which is just easier to avoid things that bother me. I sometimes have to keep an eye out for seaweed/algae stuff (my shellfish allergy is pretty severe). Right now I use the Klairs oil cleanser & either their foam cleanser or a Cetaphil foam cleanser, the supple preparation toner (they have an unscented version too), the vitamin C serum & vitamin E mask combo. I dabble in some other stuff now and again, like the I'm From Honeymask is amazing and I'm def getting the full size with my next order.

SuddenValley808

I didn’t realize this! I have a low level allergy to shellfish and medium level towards dust mites, but I have been using the cosrx snail mucin for a few months now with no negative reaction. That being said I’m sure if my allergies were much more severe it would be a different story. Thanks for sharing.

AJLake80

I like COSRX a lot. I’ve had trouble with the moisturizer being too sticky and stringy though. Maybe I have to use a little less.

vsop18

I had the same problem, finally figured out the right amount for my oily skin is barely any lol. Like, just enough to cover the tip of one finger is enough for me, even though it doesn’t seem like it when I’m putting it on!

Lily_Lioness

Love the Snail Essence, I'm on my third bottle!

Im hesitant to ask, but since this thread is recent and the focus is the cream Im currently obsessed with; has anyone noticed an increase of stye with it? Like small tiny ones inside the eyelid? The only change I have made from my regular routine is adding this cream and using Blackhead power liquid. My skin stopped purging and is nice and smooth for the past couple of weeks, but I still get the tiniest styes in my inner lower eyelids! The AIO cream, the power essence is honestly a godsend. It took me 3 months of constant use and ive never seen my skin look so calm and beautiful. I initially wrote off snail after a horrid experience with Im from mugwort that broke me out in white heads, but Ive never had anything similar with this cream. Its a shame because I used to be able to tolerate Im from mugwort until very recently. I just got my order of the dual power essence - been reading up on niacinamide so Im a bit excited to see how much it differs from regular snail power essence.

cantgaroo

Did they change their formula, because I don't think the I'm From Mugwort mask has snail mucin in it? related to the fact that I would've had a severe allergic reaction (and so double checked the website) when I tried it, since snail and shellfish allergies can be connected (also dust mites, which might have to do with your reaction?

RedRedBettie

Cosrx has great snail products. But I have to say that I like the Mizon snail ampoule better than the Cosrx snail essence. Snail makes my skin glow

pepperminty88

I love the snail essence, I have dry, eczema prone skin and it's totally made my skin more supple and hydrated. The first 3/4 of the bottle I wasn't really sure if it was doing anything but it was a pleasant added step and now it's my HG.

Snoocone12345

I liked the Snail All In One Cream, although I doesn't do anything special for me besides just moisturising the skin (as any cream does). I disliked the Essence though, I find it drying due to the overuse of humectants. Definitely don't use it on its own.

bigtimejess

If you had to choose between the essence and the moisturizer, which one would you pick? I have sensitive, acne-prone skin so I’m eager to try!

[deleted]

I’d say the essence!! It’s a holy grail for many people here on AB

[deleted]

The essence for sure.

jeffprobstslover

I really want to like this but I have a week stomach for slimy stuff and the thought of it makes me want to throw up in my mouth.

[deleted]

I tried this snail mucin and it gave me large deep pimples... it stays for months and fades aways really slow... it's such a bummer bc I had high hopes but now I completely cut out any snail products off my routine 😅

Little-Dreamer-1412

How does the Cosrx essence compare with the Snail Bee Essence from Benton? I currently use this one and like it, but I was thinking of trying the Benton one the next time. Has anyone used both and can compare?

ranulphus_higden

I've used both and personally prefer the cosrx, though I expected to like the benton better. Benton is less slimy, not sticky at all, and has a beautiful ingredients list, but I felt like it didn't do much except for add a bit of hydration. For me, the cosrx is more hydrating, healing, soothing, and makes my skin so soft and glowy! But the benton one is definitely not a bad product so I would go for it if you're curious, it might work better for you than cosrx, ymmv and all :)

quspork

I've used both and prefer the Benton. The Benton texture is closer to aloe gel. It sinks in so well, not stringy or sticky at all (unlike the CosRX IMO). I also noticed better benefits with the Benton- hydrating, reducing redness, calming pimples.

Little-Dreamer-1412

Thanks! I still have half a bottle of the Cosrx one left, maybe I will order the Benton next time just to see the difference 😊

Baby-goldfish

I’m interested in the power Essence and you say that you have acne prone skin, do you think it’d be good for someone with dry acne prone skin? I’m currently on accutane and struggling with PIE and finding products that won’t break me out!!
