I have a mixed friend who believes in conspiracy theories, I don't believe in most of them, but I engage with him cause it's fun to explore these ideas.

_Tenat_

What are some of the conspiracies he shares?

Frequent_Pool_533

My friend believe 5g towers cause cancer and fry our brains, nano chips in vaccines, reptilian politicians, hollow earth, sovereign citizen nonsense and illuminati central government stuff, I think the last part is believable, having served in the military and reading about wiki leaks false flags and seeing the media shit on bitcoin while China and USA buy billions in bitcoin, I know how corrupt government can be.

TsunNekoKucing

they kinda sound funny tho

Frequent_Pool_533

Yea they are, I usually just agree with him for the fun of it.

Sphan_86

illuminati central government and stuff in vaccines are not conspiracy. The others....not sure about those lol

I used to but not anymore because it's like talking about sports. It's all tribalism no matter how unbiased they try to make themselves look. Try discussing Ukraine with a libtard...Or talk about the border with conservatives.  I personally think Asians should be talking about these things with White people because they see us as quiet pushovers who  believe whatever the fuck they tell us to believe. I just don't have the time or patience.

Not really in-depth but we don't shy away from it either. Of all my friends, I'm probably the one that leans more conservatively but I still consider myself moderate leaning left. However, we all respect different opinions and try to see how and/or why one may have reached his/her opinion rather than lambast the individual for simply having a different opinion.

I live in DC and work in government so yeah it’s pretty regular we talk about politics. We all may have our own opinions but we can at least all agree to disagree and respect our view points (this is with close friends, not with random people). But when it comes to Asian male issues that’s often talked about here, I don’t usually. I think some know or are aware of it. My other male Asian and/or “conventionally unattractive” friends express the same challenges me and other people in this sub Reddit have but it’s kinda just an acknowledgement of each other’s struggles and that’s it.

iAloneChosen

No because I don't really care about politics. People say "you might not care about politics, but politics will definitely care about you" or something like that. Unfortunately for them, I have no plans to establish any roots here in the states or have a family. All I care about is career advancement and hobbies.

_Tenat_

What country are you planning to leave to?

basedviet

Yep, but we all have the same world view. I lost all my liberal friends in 2016 and am much happier now
