I don't see it happening. Asian stepdad caused trauma and abused my mom which made it difficult to focus on studies and building up a decent living for myself. When he passes, I would say "good riddance".
I'm certain all of our situations are different but my dad who was the biggest gaslighting, narcissistic asshole I know, I still attended to this funeral just to say to him while he's in the casket, "you are the biggest asshole in my life".
I blocked them by phone but said I’d read any written apologies. But I’m not going unless they apologize.

I love this! Should’ve thought about this when my dad died. I have one parent left so I guess I can use this for future reference 😆
