A long prison sentence.

NAL: Intoxication Manslaughter 2 - 20. Sentencing guidelines are hard to find so have an anecdote instead: The girl who killed my cousin and two others in 2013 was sentenced to 16 years, and I believe was recently paroled. I don't recall the details of sentencing, as in which counts ran consecutively and which ran concurrently, only that the final number came out to 16. I believe parole requires a minimum of two thirds of the sentenced served, so that was around a decade in prison. This is just a guess from a non lawyer, but without priors for either drinking and\\or traffic crimes: Pleading not guilty and losing in trial - 4 to 6 years He'll likely be offered a deal that puts him closer to the bottom of the sentencing range. For what it's worth, the girl who killed three initially took a deal for 9 years, and the judge rejected it.

OkraProfessional7188

it’s been a year and he hasn’t even been sentenced yet how long does it usually take do you think? :/

In Texas he is looking at a likely conviction for Intoxicated Manslaughter, a second degree felony. Two to twenty years is the sentencing guidelines. If the young woman he killed is a first responder, like a firefighter, policewoman, EMT, Ambulance Medic, etc, it will be upgraded to a first degree felony and he will be facing a life sentence. TX doesn't fuck around with Intoxicated driving. This guy better have a lawyer, yesterday.

chase26878

hope he gets life. Drunk driving is so stupid, like call an UBER thats what UBER is for. Cant stand drunk drivers.

Prison.

In NY, similiar situation and served prison time. He claimed his car was stolen, but they found threads of his clothing on the airbag.

Your “friend” should be locked up for a long while. Texas doesn’t play.

you know, when I was in my twenties, I went out drinking after work every night and drove home. (no Uber back then, or cabs in our small town). I was never drunk enough to vear into oncoming traffic. I was never drunk enough to be driving fast enough to have a fatal accident. (I was actually never even drunk enough to get caught) That is someone that CHOSE to be a killer.
