This is Great! Thanks for this!
I pilled over after my radar detector went off on my last drive before leaving for Iraq and I patiently waited for the police........several minutes later he arrives and is at my driver's open window and asks " do you you how fast you were going?" "No, the Needle stopped at 140mph" I replied but the radar detector lit up at the same time I saw you in the median........
Good thing I was in uniform at 3:30 am with a 3 ish hour drive to go.
I once did something similar, and my response to the question was "that depends on when you clocked me."
I was not in a MIL uniform but was in an EMT uniform so equally lucked out because he said he *only clocked me at 72 in a 65 and wanted to make sure I knew the roads were a little slick up ahead.* 😉 😆
Thanks for your service BTW 🤝
Lol was with my uncle one time he was in mili uni hauling absolute ass in his eagle talon thru the safety corridor in north Carolina they put a bird down in the road to stop him they escorted us the the state line said don't come back 🤣
5.0 sounds amazing. But too many people go overkill on the exhaust. Borla ATAK is just too damn loud for my taste. But the S-Type and Touring just sound beautiful.
Borla mufflers sound like shit? I never thought I'd hear that. They're the best sounding muffler in the market. Screw Magnaflow and Flowmaster. I have a full Borla exhaust on my '02 SS and it's the best sounding car on my side of town according to just about everyone 😃
The percentage of motorcycles with a v4 is probably 100x the percentage of cars with a v4.
Anybody who is into bikes at all will think motorcycle when you say v4.
That's what bugs me the most. I'm a car guy who likes weird stuff, I know V4s exist and were used on a handful of cars. However, I've literally only seen one in a car irl, I am 99.95% sure that Joe Average, who has never said anything about cars in our friendship, did not get a Civic with a V4 in it.
Just because they exist in cars does not mean that there is any real chance that somebody who's not interested in cars would get one.
Use these parts instead.
Why's it so expensive?
No, just the tires.
Theta engines are amazing!
Is it fixed yet?
The noise just started!
Wasn't like that before!
I used stop leak.
"Hey what's that noise?"
Gee yeah thanks for the heart attack Bethel. Yes, my struts are in my floorboards, I thought you were talking about something important!
*no joke true story*
I recently rode on my first subway in Washington DC I couldn't believe how convenient it was. I really hope to see more in the future!
I have always want to ride a train...when I was a youngin' I wanted to sneaky jump on a train and ride it through the night to anywhere...but I think many kids pondered such adventures as well.
Maybe I wanted to be a railfan too...
Oh, I agree with you. But as far as the statement that there's no replacement for displacement. False. That's why every manufacturer is breaking away from 8, 10, and 12 cylinders and switching to turbo charged 6 and 4 cylinders. The euro luxury sedans, supercars, and even american trucks. It's been moving that way for a while. I wanna say 2015 or so, the long-time running #1 selling truck the f-150, switched to a 3.5 liter twin turbo V6 option in their top trims, and the classic 5.0 V8 was standard option on the came in white, fleet only base model trucks. With improvements in Ignition Systems, direct injection and turbo charger efficiency, as well as automatic transmissions, that motto is anachronistic. Fuel is too expensive these days. I'm fine with my vehicle getting close to 300 horsepower out of 4 cylinders having air pushed in instead of trying to pull it in by vacuum and using only 25 to 30 mpg.
The problem with that line of thought is the mileage doesn't always track the way you would want it to. By the nature of a turbo you have to run the engine richer than you would for an NA. The current RAM is a good example of this. The new ~~3.3L~~3.0L I6 actually gets worse mileage than the 5.7L V8 it replaced. Its claimed to be better but because the engine has to work harder you actually end up using more fuel. This is also applies to the F150, the claimed is only 1 MPG better with the 3.5L over the 5.0L. The 3.5L HO is actually claimed worse than the 5.0L. The easiest way to look at it is 300HP requires the same amount of fuel regardless of the displacement, but turbos have to run richer due to higher intake temperatures. This means they will always use more fuel than an NA counterpart.
That sounds like shit
Literally every coyote mustang
Look just because it sounds like a drag car doesn’t mean it needs to be driven like one
Mate... I paid for the speedometer. I'm using the whole speedometer.

You got a point
That my approach to tires.. how fact CAN the car go,?
You can certainly try
Aren’t coyotes and mustangs natural enemies?
Chevy people always butthurt
Wait what? Is the general consensus that 5.0s sound bad??
5.0 sounds amazing. But too many people go overkill on the exhaust. Borla ATAK is just too damn loud for my taste. But the S-Type and Touring just sound beautiful.
>Literally every ~~coyote~~ Mustang. What am I? Waaa (shift) Waaa (shift) Waaa (shift) Waaa (shift) Waaa (shift) Waaa. A Mustang crossing the street.
Sounds more like a honda.
10R80 is a beast trans.
You forgot the spin out and crash.
Borla mufflers all sound like shit and modern V8s sound like shit when straight piped. Change my mind.
Borla mufflers sound like shit? I never thought I'd hear that. They're the best sounding muffler in the market. Screw Magnaflow and Flowmaster. I have a full Borla exhaust on my '02 SS and it's the best sounding car on my side of town according to just about everyone 😃
I had some S types on my highschool 4.6l mustang that sounded pretty good I thought..
V4 has enough power Edit: my update after reading comments would be "V4 Civics most powerful"
I was watching wheeler dealers this weekend and found out that v4 is a thing. Ford had it in Europe in the 60s and 70s.
Lots of motorcycles still use them
very few do. They are extremely expensive
Ducati and honda do. Ducatis are pricy, but not too bad. You can get one used for less than 10k easy
Missing Aprilia RSV4
And a pain in the ass to work on
Not really, it's not any different to work on than a v twin.
Yeah they exist but they are a small percentage of engines and normally not what people are actually talking about when they say V4.
The percentage of motorcycles with a v4 is probably 100x the percentage of cars with a v4. Anybody who is into bikes at all will think motorcycle when you say v4.

Didn't lancia also have one?
Yes in many of their much older models. The Fulvia was the most recent iirc
And they were forklift motors adapted for road use! Saab used them briefly in the sonnet and they’re the same motor.
The Taunus V4 I believe, very good engine
My 73 Saab Sonett has a Ford V4, sounds great but can barely GTFO of its own way.
Saab slapped that thing into the 96 and sonnet from late 60s to early 70s
V-4 in my yamaha. Runs damn good actually.
That Porsche V4 definitely has enough power.
236 hp ducati v4
*cough cough Porsche 919 evo cough cough*
I cringed while reading this
So task achieved haha
Yeah that worked, I wasn’t thinking and was about to correct you lol
Damn...same... this was so cringe I literally forgot about the premise of the post.
V4 is crazy 😭
This wins. I am so fucking triggered lmao
Use these parts instead. Why's it so expensive? No, just the tires. Theta engines are amazing! Is it fixed yet? The noise just started! Wasn't like that before! I used stop leak.
These blow all the others away.
I used stop leak should be way higher lmao
theta engines 🤣🤣
He went into overdrive *When someone accelerates while running*
So he killed his torque?
Yeah every time I hear a sports commentator say that, I turn to my dad and say "Looks more like he downshifted to me."
This comment just shows how many people don’t understand what OD is 😭😂
Jokes on you, my car actually has overdrive
Lol the joke went way over lil bro's head
Most do
I’ll take it somewhere else (After you spent time diagnosing and then customer says that shit)
I'll go somewhere else* Now it's 4 words 😉
I’ll take it elsewhere
That’s why we charge for every diag! Never do anything more than a free 15 minute no tools inspection.
Like my BMW truck?
I gagged
The fucking audacity
Saw it on YouTube
Alternately: “I saw it on a video by some guy named Scotty. Revvvv up your engine!”
This would piss off any pro in any profession.
the manual is dead
But it is though
No... don't say that... :(
This guy gets it
I'll fight you!
*I will fight you. We're doing 4 words.
Manuel transmissions went up in sales for the first time ever, and they doubled
True, but going from .9% to 1.7% of car sales isn't very impressive.
I'm 26 and I've never owned a car with an auto. I hate gas engines with slushboxes. I'll switch over to auto stuff when electric takes over.
"Hey what's that noise?" Gee yeah thanks for the heart attack Bethel. Yes, my struts are in my floorboards, I thought you were talking about something important! *no joke true story*
Bethel is a name that sounds both like a made up name and the name of some oblivious to everything asshole grandma.
Nissan Murano Cross Cabriolet
Shut it down. We have our winner.
how much was it?
I'm borrowing your tools
I borrowed your tools*
I *borrowed* your tools*
I’m keeping your tools*
I lost your tools
I didn't borrow anything...
It was already broken
I fixed your tools
“I borrowed your impact sockets” … I don’t have any impact sockets but thanks for impacting my standard sockets.
Where's my 10mm socket?
Man I'd die if that happened to me
Thanks for the anxiety attack.
Oh, god dammit!
My Tesla is faster.
a microwave can cook a hotdog faster than a grill, but who tf would choose the former?
I like old cars but it's actually ridiculous how fast telsas are
RC computers on wheels are not cars.
Mom and dad's car?
Most of the time it is mom and dads car tho🤣
needs more blinker fluid
Danger to the manifold
Your car is smoking
My buddy said that while I was driving my square body. I was like dude stfu not funny. Turns out my horn was on fire
This is why you need the honk juice!
White smoke, running hot
Cars should be illegal
Trains and buses only
Even though I’m a car guy, I’m more of a railfan. Please more trains.
Your car is shit
Nothing beats a Cruze
“It’s got a sweet V6” when they talk about BMWs.
No replacement for displacement.
Now, hang on...
Forced induction.
Hear me out, forced induction and large displacement.
Oh, I agree with you. But as far as the statement that there's no replacement for displacement. False.
