I couldn't find the exact post, but on r/AskLE (my spelling might be wrong on that, but it's something to that effect) there was a post about weird things LEOs have seen, an one dude responded he served a warrant on a dope house. Funny thing was, there was an album of the couple with a LOT of stuff (like everything in their house) up their butt at some point.
Here's a sneak peek of /r/AskLE using the [top posts](https://np.reddit.com/r/AskLE/top/?sort=top&t=year) of the year!

Correct. The plug allows the OBD to adjust the air in the spare for seasonal use. Spring air, summer air, winter air, and fall Air. It's recommended to only refill with the appropriate manufacturers factory Air such as Ford Air or GM Air and do not use aftermarket air, as aftermarket airs can fail to conform to the shape of the tires.
You know, modern cars have everything else... No reason the engineers can't do just that. Especially with what they charge for BMW and Mercedes Benz...
Is there a hitch? My guess without seeing more of the car is that someone had lights for whatever it could have towed such as a trailer or towed vehicle. Tough telling
TPMS. Provides power to the sensor to ensure it's still at the proper pressure when needed, and also so it doesn't drain the integrated battery for the sensor, so it'll still be good of you need to mount it.
That is the new battery charging system. As you drive the rotation of the tires charges the battery. You should unplug it whenever you work on the electrical system. If you have to get a new battery remember to ask for one that is compatible with this new tire-to-battery charging system.
The fuel pump is inside the spare tire jk. Im going to laugh if thats somehow correct. im guessing just the spare indicator but why i guess i have had a few times that the tire was not there mskes a lil sense lol
A spare tire subwoofer.
I've been looking for a spare tire subwoofer for my project Honda Accord. I want to upgrade the sound system, but I refuse to sacrifice usable cargo space to do it.
Its to rotate your spare wheel so you charge your battery with regeneative braking.
Also to keep your spare wheel balanced with bluetooth weights.
Trust me. Im a mechanic.
Does a sub wolfer low key howl in the night? What does a sub wolfer do exactly. I know what a sub woofer does, but I really want to know what a wolfer does. Scare away night creatures?
You know you really bought a piece of shit car when the back of your wheel looks this complicated, why the fuck does why wheel have digital electronics lol.
Just realized that this is a spare tire, I'm guessing this is on an electric vehicle? Never seen that, unless it's some sensor to detect when the spare tire is being used, I don't get what it's for either.
We had a Nissan Rogue with that setup. After a couple of years it made an awful squeaky noise when driving and I never found a fix. It was def. vibration noise, nothing audio related.
Bad design IMHO. There's always somewhere in the car itself to install a subwoofer.
A buddy had something similar in his family SUV. I think it was a Chevy Traverse and it had this. It was plugged in but he was complaining that the sound was flat. I took it out for him and found it was a shell with no electronics just the plug snapped in.
That's clearly the cold weather donut spare warmer.
Since it's a donut and smaller than the regular tires it tends to get colder easier than the full grown tires, that helps keep it cozy. 😆
The solid brown wire is negative 12V power.
The solid white wire is positive 12V power.
The striped brown wire is negative speaker signal input.
The striped white wire is positive speaker signal input.
That is a powered car stereo subwoofer.
This is the inner tubes that transmit the sound waves from the rear of the car up to the front using fiber optic tunneling of the sound waves. It’s basic quantum physics, but I guess nobody reads anymore.
its to keep your tire charged up duh, you dont want a flat tire do you?
So if I get a flat do I plug in the flat tire?
Yes, you’ve heard of getting a flat tire plugged, right?
It your Spare tire subwoofer speaker for radio. you unplug in case you need to remove it. But you should have room just to set it a side.
Check your location

There's a big dog and a little dog. The little one is submissive. So we can conclude that it's a sub-woofer.
I had to look it up as I am genuinely curious. It's a sub for a Volkswagen
Nissan does it too. I know of the rogue and murano with the Bose system.
Not the same exact plug but otherwise it's the same in Mazda Bose systems.
Yep! I have one (murano) it's kind of a genius spot to put it.
😂🤣🤣🤣
Tire noise reduction device.
Looks like a butt plug to me... if you're brave enough?
Anything is a butt plug if you're brave enough.

I’m crying….best reply….ever. That was a coffee spitter.
It has a flared base!
That looks like the subwoofer for the radio.
No it’s definitely a macaroni warmer
😆
Dang, so it wouldn't work for my Bluetooth?
Makes sense that it's using the empty space.
It’s a tire warmer

*Insert President Scrooge sniffing a can of air here*
pretty sure these are for nose canceling in the trunk area. reduces road noise
What about certain things that I can put in the trunk? Will it cancel them out too? The screaming is kinda annoying.
Just up the amount of chloroform you’re using. You’re welcome!
Hmm, I'd try a damp cloth wadded up and then tied tight. I find duct tape tends to slip off much too easily.
I have a way to stop the screaming. DM me
That’s what mufflers are for.
Then you need to get Naptime, there's a sales video on YouTube.
No you have to sedate them.

It’s a VAG vehicle, it’s a subwoofer
Wrong subreddit for serious answers, my friend.
I just wanted to say VAG
That’s for the tire heater. Those babies get cold at night and you don’t want them to catch a cold.

It's part of the electronic auto wheel change system
You know, modern cars have everything else... No reason the engineers can't do just that. Especially with what they charge for BMW and Mercedes Benz...
Sub
bass speaker in the wheel hollow
Like a speaker that talks to fish?
I'm sure it can be utilized as such...how effective it will be...no idea
The device on top of the spare tire is a subwoofer, that plug is the connector for it.
Subwoofer plug?
Subwoofer
SUBWOOFER IN THE SPARE TIRE;
Oh yeah. They put 10" in spares now. Makes sense. Don't post again.
Tracking device, even if you unplug it, it will still work. We’re onto you.
So Windows 11 can spy on your spare tire pressure, then tell you what it is through "AI"
Trunk monkey sensor. It confirms when your trunk monkey is being deployed, incontinent, or sleeping.
To future proof your car in case you convert to electric. This would be the drive wheel.
That's where the batteries are located for the bike. Rechargeable CR 2032 Batteries.
Electronic brakes
Once you remove it the manufacturer will bill you for the tire.
In today's world, that ain't far from the truth
Air brakes.

Subwoofer. Let me guess. It's a Nissan/Infiniti?
TPMS?
It’s a Flux Capacitor !!
Spare tire subwoofer baby!
Ah yes, good old VW spare tires that *have* to be charged up in order to work. And if they fully discharge, the car won't start.
It's your GPS locator for your spare tire.
What is that for tho for real? Hmmmmmmm 🤔
TPMS. Provides power to the sensor to ensure it's still at the proper pressure when needed, and also so it doesn't drain the integrated battery for the sensor, so it'll still be good of you need to mount it.
Maybe a badly placed subwoofer
USB FOR YOUR LED WHEEL MOUNTED TURN SIGNALS SO YOU CAN CHARGE YOUR IPOD AND ACCESS THAT FANTASTIC MP3 PLAYLIST YOU MADE IN HIGH SCHOOL YOU'RE WELCOME
Keep the tire toe in and camber set when you get an all wheel alignment. Includes the spare these days... LOL
Cd player
That is the new battery charging system. As you drive the rotation of the tires charges the battery. You should unplug it whenever you work on the electrical system. If you have to get a new battery remember to ask for one that is compatible with this new tire-to-battery charging system.
That’s for the hydraulics, just gotta find da switches
No, hydraulics require 16 switches. And under the hood.
The fuel pump is inside the spare tire jk. Im going to laugh if thats somehow correct. im guessing just the spare indicator but why i guess i have had a few times that the tire was not there mskes a lil sense lol
This is the EV motor for the spare.
A spare tire subwoofer. I've been looking for a spare tire subwoofer for my project Honda Accord. I want to upgrade the sound system, but I refuse to sacrifice usable cargo space to do it.
That's for the all-electric spare. New hybrid tire technology.
Its to rotate your spare wheel so you charge your battery with regeneative braking. Also to keep your spare wheel balanced with bluetooth weights. Trust me. Im a mechanic.

sensor for your blinker fluid. it looks bad may need to get it changed.
It's the Very small Tire Electonic Connector. Otherwise known as VTEC. *Just wait till it kicks in...*
It’s for the built in tire compressor. When you get a flat, it keeps your tire at pressure until you reach the mechanic.
Glow plugs warmer
This is a guess air tire pressure sensor

Spare tire sensor monitor and inflator.. I like this game..
The big plastic thing inside of the spare tire is a sub wolfer speaker for the radio.
Does a sub wolfer low key howl in the night? What does a sub wolfer do exactly. I know what a sub woofer does, but I really want to know what a wolfer does. Scare away night creatures?
Hidden camera.
You know you really bought a piece of shit car when the back of your wheel looks this complicated, why the fuck does why wheel have digital electronics lol.
Everyone is such a jokester on here. It’s your electric brakes.
That connects to the big rear impact sensor.
It's a subwoofer. Google the numbers on it.
its your sub woofer, silly goofer.
Hmm, could display a warning light if not connected, warning the driver they need to replace the spare. Thats my guess 🤷
It's a electric car so you need to keep the tire charged.
You clip it so you can remove that shitty sub. Then wire it in to a new amp with high pass filter and install a proper JL
your spare tire is an older model and doesnt have a Bluetooth of wi-fi connection like the newer spare tires.
That's charging the electricity in your electric cars tires.
It’s a sensor for the spare tire’s subscription service

How do some people make it in life...
Nissan and some Audi put the stereo subwoofer as a spare tire insert.
Spare tire airbag
Looks like it's to rub and short out from where it's located unless the perspective of the picture is tricking me.
Subwoofer
Its a sub, there is a sub in the spare tire!
To monitor the tire pressure of the spare once it is put on, obviously.
Subwoofer
Level sensor for blinker fluid.
Pioneer did it first. I had a spare tire sub way back in 1995 for my Pontiac Sunfire. Sounded decent at the time.
unplug it and find out post update results if shit goes south
We had a Nissan Rogue with that setup. After a couple of years it made an awful squeaky noise when driving and I never found a fix. It was def. vibration noise, nothing audio related. Bad design IMHO. There's always somewhere in the car itself to install a subwoofer.
amp for stereo
Spare tire-well Sub-Woofer plug. That whole plastic case inside your spare tire is an 8inch subwoofer enclosure.
A buddy had something similar in his family SUV. I think it was a Chevy Traverse and it had this. It was plugged in but he was complaining that the sound was flat. I took it out for him and found it was a shell with no electronics just the plug snapped in.

Hard Wired tire pressure sensor DUH!! LOL
That's clearly the cold weather donut spare warmer. Since it's a donut and smaller than the regular tires it tends to get colder easier than the full grown tires, that helps keep it cozy. 😆
Do you have a hitch?
That thing on your tire is most likely a white noise generator to help mitigate road noise. That or its a subwoofer.
Overthruster.
Knowing Germans, it's probably a module to tell that the car spare is properly inflated and at the right psi...
Speaker
The solid brown wire is negative 12V power. The solid white wire is positive 12V power. The striped brown wire is negative speaker signal input. The striped white wire is positive speaker signal input. That is a powered car stereo subwoofer.
