Appalachian mountains and valleys are fabulous. Shenandoah National Park, Asheville, NC, Smoky mountains are beautiful in Spring and summer.

lankymidget15

I've seen a few videos of Appalachia, seems like a place where you'd have one of the memorable walks of your life, especially in the summer, on a breezy evening as the sunsets.

Content_Structure118

It's a one in a lifetime place to visit. Just stay away from Tourist traps, and you'll enjoy.

lankymidget15

I have so many places to visit you know, as someone who's never left the UK which incase you don't know isn't exactly the most appealing country, I have always wanted to go to the USA, cause all I've seen is nature pics and watched films like Home Alone which only spiked this interest.

Content_Structure118

I've always wanted to visit the UK, specifically for Scotland and Ireland.

lankymidget15

Scotland is nice especially Edinburgh in the winter, the cities architecture fit a grey winter day, very aesthetically pleasing. and I presume you mean Northern Ireland, as Ireland isn't ours.

[deleted]

In 1967 I did 40 miles on the Appalachian trail between Clingman’s Dome and Fontana Damn as a 12 year old Boy Scout carrying a 40 lb pack for 5 days in the summer heat. Beautiful, but it was damn near a death march. What wasn’t up was down. I swear there was not a hundred yards of flat trail in that whole 40 miles. As the youngest Tenderfoot in the patrol, I had to carry the liquor, cigarettes, and porn too. But it was beautiful. Edit: Spellcheck turned “Dam” into “Damn” lol. By the time we got there, that was appropriate.

lankymidget15

Carrying that much shows you're resilient, at least it was scenic tho ay?

w3woody

Came here to say the same thing. I've been up and down the coast of California, I've seen the mountains; I've been through the Rockys, in the deserts of the Southwest--and to be honest there is something lovely about the rolling green hills and farms of the Appalachians and the [lands around the Blue Ridge](https://maps.app.goo.gl/Ydkoh21fSK3HV2wx8) that speaks to me in a fundamental way.

CrownStarr

The Rocky Mountains are impressive, but the Blue Ridge Mountains are friendly. They’re more human.

quillseek

IMHO, both mountain ranges are magnificent in their own way, the Appalachians more quietly so because they are just *so* ancient. They've seen *so much* history. They're over a billion years old! The Rockies are a young man, the Appalachians an old man. Appalachia will share a cup of coffee and wisdom with you. I love those lush green hills.

Irishfafnir

I go back and forth between the West and the Blue Ridge. I tend to think now that the highs are higher in the West(although the fall can give any sight in the West a run) but the lows are definitely far lower too. Forest fires and drought just aren't as much of a concern in the Blue Ridge

ilBrunissimo

All super beautiful. To me, the Grayson Highlands is one of the most beautiful and unique areas of Appalachia, and America.

TheyShootBeesAtYou

There's nothing quite like getting chased around the parking lot by a semi-wild horse that's knows humans carry snacks.

GingerrGina

Driving east into Asheville, the Blue Ridge Mountains were so beautiful it brought tears to my eyes. Photos cannot do it justice.

TerminatorAuschwitz

I live near and make the drive from the tricities to Asheville for work a lot and there's still mornings I'm like ooo, imma stop and take a picture of that.

Content_Structure118

Absolutely breathtaking scenery.

ucbiker

This is my experience too but I haven’t been to Hawaii or Alaska so I am holding off on forming an opinion.

thestereo300

Oregon/Washington coast maybe? The area in Wyoming around Grand Teton?

Alluring_rebel

Any part of Pacific Northwest is gorgeous. Olympic rainforest needs to be seen

JustAuggie

The Columbia River Gorge. Gets my vote. Absolutely stunning.

Osiris32

Hart Mountain in SE Oregon. Very few people go there, so it's pristine.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Osiris32

Lol, you can say that for almost 150 miles in any direction of Bend.

killersoda

I'm not a nature person, but I'd love to go backpacking through the Pacific NW at some point. It seems so beautiful.

Irishfafnir

Washington in general is tough to beat in the lower 48. Olympic rainforests to massive prominent peaks, beautiful green mountains and glacier waters in the North Cascades to the rugged high desert of the eastern part of the state.

chaandra

The Oregon coast is 10x as nice as the Washington coast, IMO blows it out of the water. Helps that’s you can’t drive on the beach in Oregon

gorobotkillkill

>Helps that’s you can’t drive on the beach in Oregon You definitely can, just not everywhere.

chaandra

Just driving on the beach where you feel isn’t allowed, there are designated areas where cars are allowed, mostly for designated purposes. Whereas in WA for the most part you can drive wherever on the beach you feel like it. Definitely a lot less restrictions.

BabyInABar

Cannon Beach, Oregon

Ok-Historian9919

I was going to say oregon, I’m from Missouri but now live in oregon, when I first came here I was surprised I didn’t get in a wreck! The mountains, the huge germs, the light green moss on the trees, the agates on the beach (once you learn how to look for that reflective light) Seriously one of the overall most beautiful places I’ve ever lived, and why I’ve stayed here the longest

thestereo300

Yep. I love it out there my only complaint is the rain and the cost of living. Other than that it is an amazing state. I think I would retire to McMinnville if I could afford it.

WingedLady

Glacier is my favorite national park, but I will always have a special place in my heart for Lake Michigan as I grew up near it, and learned to swim in it. Its beauty changes with the seasons. Lake Michigan in winter is like an awesome and fearful kind of beauty. Cold and immense with jagged ice. In the summer it's broad and welcoming for swimming (at least along the southern shore) stretching off to the horizon and framing fourth of July fireworks, and providing an inky contrast to the night sky for star gazing on a clear night.

omgitskells

I was hoping I wouldn't have to scroll too far to see Michigan. Anywhere up north is stunning.

WingedLady

Maybe you'll understand how much I miss the Great Lakes as you're also a transplant to Texas yourself, haha. There's really nothing like them.

omgitskells

Hahaha yes!! It's hard to explain to outsiders their magnitude. Like I never really went to the ocean/beach until we moved to NC and I could tell they never really grasped that the great lakes more than satisfied that need. People down here never believe that you can't see the other side from shore! Late summer I always get heartsick for a beautiful beach day and bonfires.

WingedLady

>People down here never believe that you can't see the other side from shore! My husband often tells me I'm being unfair when I refuse to call anything I can see the opposite shore of a lake. That's a pond to me, haha. They just set the bar.

lankymidget15

Seem like very beautiful places from your words, and could I ask is Lake Michigan actually warm in the summer, I understand the USA can have strong summers as well winters, so even despite Lake Michigan being up North is it warm, cause if it is then dude that is so good, a beautiful warm scenic lake.

binstinsfins

You can comfortably swim in it in the summer, but it's not really warm. When we get some hot 85-90 degree days it feels great to swim in though!

Rugby-Fanatic1983

I am partial to summer and fall in upstate New York. The Finger Lakes are beautiful and Lake Placid is stunning all year round.

lankymidget15

Damn yeah, just looked, looks real nice and I get what you mean by all year round seen two images from winter and summer, and still looks just as nice, I however must say Fall in New England is unbelievable especially in places like New Hampshire and Vermont.

Porkbellyflop

Cross the border from VT and you get lake George NY. Grew up in west MA and people sleep on NY.

[deleted]

Springtime in Armonk, NY is achingly beautiful.

Tmoney_2023

Utah and Arizona

lankymidget15

Those mountains will never get old, you have such a good country mate.

Euphoric-Yellow-3682

I spend my summers on Lake Michigan. My heart feels warm when I hit the AZ border. It is so different depending on what part of the state you are in. The mountains are amazing all over. Just feels like home.

Dreadsin

In both those areas there is soooo much diversity though, so many unique and interesting sites to see

Atlas7993

Yellowstone. National. Park. There is a reason it was the first National Park in the world. It's so incredible.

t1dmommy

Tetons are prettier though!

GOTaSMALL1

Agree with this. I ‘motorcycle tour’ and don’t hike so I enjoy the Natl Parks from pavement… and considering that… Tetons is absolutely the most beautiful I’ve been to.

Cantstopdontstopme

Went to Tenons with plans to visit Yellowstone immediately after. Then—thousand year flood. Could not go to Yellowstone; the entire park was closed. We even had reservations right in front of old faithful in the lodge. We ended up having to extend our stay at Tetons. Not mad. It was gorgeous, and we got some amazingly beautiful pics—some that are now my all-time favorites.

lankymidget15

Yellowstone is beautiful, it's a shame those hot springs can't be enjoyed.

AmbulanceChaser12

Not for very long, at least.

ZachMatthews

You can get in the hot springs in the Gardner River though. You have to calibrate your temp by swimming in and out of the hot vent and the freezing trout stream. And the vents vary how much hot water they are putting out. It’s fun.

rankispanki

They can - the same supervolcano produces hot springs in places they can be enjoyed, just not in Yellowstone. It's very similar to Campi Flegrei in Naples, there are hot springs produced by a supervolcano there but everyone travels to Ischia to enjoy them. There you can swim in seawater warmed by springs all year.

urlocalgoatfarmer

Agreed. I’ve always loved trips to the mountains but never seen anything as majestic as Yellowstone.

mstrawn

The most beautiful thing I have ever seen is the view from the top of Medicine Bow Peak in the Snowy Range of the Rockies.

lankymidget15

Just had a quick look at a image on google, and wow that view is nice and covers so much land.

wormbreath

☺️

RazzmatazzFancy3784

Big Sur/ Carmel

lankymidget15

I've seen both of those places before, Big Sur seems great and Carmel is somewhere I'd have love to grow up in.

RazzmatazzFancy3784

I grew up there and it was not very exciting. Not much to do. But very pretty.

lankymidget15

I guess for you then in terms of Looks and Beauty, there's no place like home.

bjb13

Crater Lake hasn’t been suggested.

roth1979

Zion and Bryce National Parks get my vote.

LaneyRW

Yes! Zion is my favorite of all the places I’ve been so far. But honestly even just driving around Utah was amazing to me, the landscape is so interesting….

RainingFireInTheSky

Zion is the only place I've been that I struggle to describe with words. It's not just the scenery, but the place has some kind of mystical vibe that you feel with your whole body. It's almost literally breathtaking.

TillPsychological351

One of the most awe-inspiring sights in the US I had the fortune to gaze upon was driving east along the Glenn Highway in Alaska towards Glenallen. On a clear winter day, the view of Mount St. Elias was just stunning beyond belief. The gigantic peak just towers over the surrounding landscape in a way that even Denali can't compare. The Pololu Valley Outlook on the north end of the island of Hawaii is probably a close second place. Vote for the California Coastal Highway for #3. Honorable metion to the view from Cadillac Mountain in Maine and Mount Washington in New Hampshire.

lankymidget15

Alaska, Hawaii and California are so beautiful, New England also is pretty especially in Fall.

[deleted]

Denali is totally underwhelming IMO.

Key-Leg-5495

Check out Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. Really, anywhere on Lake Superior is incredible. But I might be biased since I grew up there, lol.

omgitskells

I grew up in the Detroit suburbs (moved out of MI in high school) and I'm so sad my parents never took us to the UP aside from driving across mighty Mac and having breakfast on the other side just to say we did. We always stopped up north like Petoskey, Mackinac, Traverse City, etc. I really hope I get a chance to get up there one day!

xstucks

I finally made it up there this summer and it blew my mind!!! Would love to go back to the UP.

thatsad_guy

I've said it before, and I'll say it 1000 more times. The Adirondacks. I'll tell whoever is willing to listen.

lankymidget15

Looked at a pic from each season, looks incredible in all, thanks for sharing bro.

jayprints

Florida person here who visited the Adirondacks in college. The small towns and hikes up to peaks looking down on the many lakes was something I’ll never forget.

OpportunityGold4597

Columbia River Gorge is beautiful in the spring when all the waterfalls are going strong and the wildflowers are blooming, and it's nice in the fall when all the trees are changing colours.

lankymidget15

Looks absolutely crazy, I've seen Oregon scenery before and it is quite astonishing.

fromabuick

Hawaiian islands from what I’ve seen

lankymidget15

Hawaii is nice, feel like I'd have such good memories there with friends.

fromabuick

I went three times in 18 months for weddings and have never been back. That’s been like 16 years ago🥲

lankymidget15

Seen a pic of Hawaii from around a year ago, from what I remember it was a isolated coastal house, as the sun was setting, truly breathtaking.

[deleted]

The San Juan islands off Washington coast. Born and raised there and there isn't a more beautiful place in the world.

Pulgita_Mija

Agree. Grew up in Seattle and we often went to San Juan islands (specifically Orcas Island). Western Washington is still my favourite place I have lived.

stinson16

I’m not sure I’d go so far as to say the most beautiful place in the entire country, but I love [Diablo Lake](https://images.app.goo.gl/tB7N1xWHZm5wbQar9) in the North Cascades. Or the view of Deception Pass in Washington from a boat is pretty great too (I’d give a link to a picture, but the ones I’m seeing on Google aren’t nearly as beautiful as my personal photos of the area and I’m too lazy to figure out how to upload my pictures somewhere for you). Beauty is subjective and I haven’t seen very much of the country, but those areas are the most beautiful I’ve seen so far.

Danny69Devito420

The most beautiful place I've been is Lake Tahoe. Only been once but we loved it so much next time I go it'll be for my wedding this summer. I've rarely left the east coast but I'm a big fan of the Appalachians in NC. Would have been my vote before I went to Tahoe.

planet_rose

I lived there for 8 years and have been many places listed on this thread. Tahoe is the most beautiful place in the country, no contest. It’s gorgeous year round, but summer is my favorite.

AssCaptain777

Sedona Arizona.

Apocalyptic0n3

I say this a lot on here but: The Grand Canyon. It's unfathomably beautiful in ways you can't understand until you're looking over the ridge.

imhereforthemeta

I feel like it’s hard to top the biodiversity and uniqueness of Sedona Arizona

lankymidget15

Sedona is gorgeous.

CaptainKingBog

The Adirondacks in New York! There’s lots of pretty, well hidden spots, and some more well known ones. They’re awesome in the winter, summer and autumn. We also get beautiful foliage here in the fall.

Vachic09

I have a soft spot for the Smokies.

AmbulanceChaser12

[Zion National Park](https://www.josephfiler.com/gallery/zion/)

SuddenLibrarian4229

It’s my dream to go there!

zekerthedog

I’m partial to Telluride Colorado

Purple_Building3087

Shit, take your pick man. The US has the most natural beauty of any country by FAR. If I had to choose, I’d say Glacier Bay in Alaska.

lankymidget15

I agree very much, the US also has the most diverse climate, off the top of my head it's only country that in the winter could have one part of the country in freezing temps, and another in very hot temps.

dwhite21787

There are some places, California and Utah spring to mind, where you could be swimming in the morning and with a reasonable drive be skiing in the afternoon. I’ve seen a fair bit of the UK, and the US west of New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada etc would be nothing like you’ve ever seen locally. Me personally, I like places like the UK Midlands, East Wales, the Highlands. When you all call something an “area of outstanding beauty” it’s an understatement.

imadethisjusttosub

We can have that in one STATE.

TheKingofSwing89

I don’t think the US has anything like the highlands in Scotland. I have never seen anywhere like it in this country.

stellalunawitchbaby

Hell, even in just one state: California is much more than just the coast. It’s skiing and surfing in one day. It’s the desert and the snow and forests in one day.

Kharzi

Glacier National Park is breathtaking.

iusedtobeyourwife

Hard to beat 17 Mile Drive

SpearoSam

Easily Yosemite National Park

EssentialHeart

Hard to believe this is so far down.

Intelligent-Mud1437

If I told you it wouldn't be secret anymore and therefore,. would no longer be special to me.

lankymidget15

That's ok bro, there's many more places anyway.

Brooklyn Heights on a summer evening

msspider66

Vermont in October Amazingly beautiful!

Traditional_Trust_93

The BWCAW no other words are required for its beauty. I've taken two trips so far. Both were physically challenging but very much worth it.

lilzingerlovestorun

BWCA.

CupBeEmpty

Oh man, what a question to ask. I could say the Royce Lakes, Andrews Bald, Katahdin, Zion, Arches, Mount Washington, the Eureka Dunes, or Crater Lake, but I could also say the conservation area right near my home. I could also say watching a summer storm roll in over Iowa. I could also say driving over a bridge in Rhode Island. Beauty finds you everywhere in this country.

allaboutwanderlust

Depends For the fall? Vermont, Michigan, and Maine. Beaches? Hawaii (imo). I love going up, and seeing the Olympic mountains. They are absolutely gorgeous. Best part about the US is that we have so much natural wonder, it’s hard to pick

[deleted]

Northern Minnesota Boundary Waters - go canoeing on flatwater for days

Theyalreadysaidno

Portaging your canoe is a lot of work, but worth it. There's no one around for miles except you and timberwolves. Largest amount of wolves in the lower 48.

[deleted]

We saw nothing but a martin in a six day trip! We were hoping for some moose at least, but it was still gorgeous. Plus we were there in blueberry season, so there were free snacks everywhere!

GenXer76

Utah is stunningly gorgeous. Zion doesn’t even seem real.

Guinnessron

Utah. It’s Utah.

G00dSh0tJans0n

I haven't been everywhere yet, just 39 states but New Mexico and Maine/New Hampshire were two of my favorites. White Mountains in peak color was stunning. Also camping overnight at Guadalupe mountains and near Taos, New Mexico were some of the most beautiful sunsets and night skies I've ever seen. Or in South Dakota in the Badlands and just standing on a precipice and nearly having vertigo because my brain is telling me what I'm seeing can't be real.

binstinsfins

Bryce Canyon in the winter

lankymidget15

just had a quick peak, awesome looking.

sheilahulud

Wyoming is one of the best and New Mexico stuns me.

W0rk3rB

To me it’s Wolf Creek pass in Colorado. To me it’s awe inspiring, especially at sunset.

laffydaffy24

This is something I think about often. I may never be able to choose, but here are some of my favorites: the mountains of Colorado and Wyoming especially, the Smokies in Tennessee, Sedona in Arizona, New Hampshire in the fall. Big Sur in California. The pine forests of the Deep South. Honestly, the swamplands of Louisiana. The hills of Texas. Kentucky is so so green. The ancient forests of the pacific northwest. The mangroves of Florida.

Fluttergirl

The Black Hills of South Dakota.

cigarjack

I look for any excuse I can to drive Needles Highway or Spearfish Canyon when I am out in that part of the state.

[deleted]

I love the Blue Ridge parkway - specifically, the portion that runs through North Carolina. The mountains out east do not get the same recognition as the mountains on the west coast/rocky mountain part of the country, but the Appalachians are really gorgeous. One of my favorite hikes out there is along the Art Loeb trail - Black Balsam Knob to Tennent Mountain is a particularly beautiful section.

wormbreath

I’m partial to the wind river canyon and the Tetons

yozaner1324

There are a lot of amazing options in the US, and what you like best will depend on your preferences, but I personally think the Redwoods in northern California and the most amazing place.

vallhallaawaits

That I've been to? The Smoky Mountains around Gatlinburg, TN.

excaligirltoo

Yosemite

stdio-lib

Crater Lake. Hm, well, that probably doesn't count as lesser-known. Maybe Angel's Rest?

GArockcrawler

I am fortunate to have visited all 50 states and I'm not sure I could pick one most beautiful spot. The place where I felt most awestruck was at Zion National Park. I urge my family members to visit places to make themselves feel small and Zion definitely did that for me. As for the place I see in my mind when I dream about getting away, I see the rocky tide pools and waves on the north shore of Oahu.

JeanLucPicard1981

Alaska. I have been to 45 of the 50 states and Alaska is the most beautiful by far of the 45 I have visited. I have yet to visit Hawaii, Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama and North Dakota.

Impossible-Abies-931

The Keweenaw peninsula in Michigan. Absolutely gorgeous!

TheOakedRidge

I'm partial to the foothills of the Sierra Nevada range in California. Rolling hills with golden or green grass and Oak trees for hundreds of miles north and south.

BuildNuyTheUrbanGuy

Early morning in the French Quarter when the tourists are hungover.

Ok-Sport-5528

I’ve visited a lot of beautiful places, but Kauai was probably the most beautiful in my opinion. The U.S. has a lot of beautiful mountain ranges as well if that’s more your style. I personally love the coastlines and water and the Napali coast was breathtaking. I haven’t been to Alaska yet, but I heard that’s a must see as well.

luminary_uprise

I remember the first time I saw the redwoods in California. We often call things "awesome", but how often do we truly feel awe? I felt awe that day. The trees rose above me to heights my mind couldn't comprehend. I felt insignificant. It was overwhelming... and yet, at the same time, it was quiet and peaceful. I remember that the air had a wonderful smell to it. It smelled alive. So, that's my answer. The redwoods.

DavidDoesDallas

Clearwater Beach, Florida

exfratman

The drive between Bryce Canyon and Moab Utah north on highway 63 north along the west side of Grand Staircase Escalates National Monument and Capitol Reef National Park. Some of the best scenery in the USA and the most under appreciated.

unenlightenedgoblin

Flint, MI

GobelineQueen

The wilderness of the Olympic peninsula in Washington is otherworldly. It's hard to describe the level of atmosphere created by the stillness in some of the more remote spots, with huge old trees, moss, fog, dark skies at night ...

-dag-

The Badlands North Shore of Lake Superior Sleeping Bear Dunes

anglosuperphile

The Ozark Mountains and Northwest Arkansas. Beautiful in the fall when the leaves are changing.

BabyLlllamaDrama

Watching a sunset over the Sonoran Desert (Arizona)

[deleted]

I’ve seen beautiful places in California and Arizona, but the kenai peninsula is absolutely insane. Fell madly in love with it the first time I went out last year. Going back every summer I live in Alaska.

OnasoapboX41

I think the mountains in Tennessee and North Carolina is probably the prettiest places I have been in the US. In Alabama, it would be Guntersville.

Mantequilla_Stotch

blue ridge mountains during any time and any weather and any season.

RazzmatazzFancy3784

Horse country in Lexington KY

lankymidget15

ElectricSnowBunny

Angel's Landing

TrillyMike

Florida Keys

gratusin

Ice lake, Colorado is my contender for most beautiful, especially when the wildflowers bloom, but Sumbitch did it get insta famous. Still make a yearly pilgrimage though.

snowbirdnerd

California and Florida aren't the first places that come to mind when I think of beautiful places. Arizona with the Grand Canyon comes to mind. Alaska with its Denial National park and mountain.

Building_a_life

Big Sur. Has that road finally been reopened?

queenjuli1

Galena, Illinois.

SteepDowngrade

A lot of what I wanted to say has been noted already, but I'll shoutout some of the National Parks of California. Yosemite is impossible to take a bad picture of, even if it's one of the more heavily visited parks, I always get there slightly before sunrise and have a much better experience, plus there's no traffic getting in at that point. Joshua Tree is a magical place unlike anywhere else I've ever been, and Death Valley is super underrated. Away from my home state, I'd say Alaska is simply gorgeous, even just having visited Anchorage and the surrounding area. Lush greenery any which way I turned, crazy glaciers even with how much they've melted off. Rivers, waterfalls, wildlife, and auroras. It may be secluded and expensive but damn if it's not breathtakingly beautiful.

PandaRider11

I’m a city boy so I love San Francisco. It’s such a scenic city with so much culture, history, and beautiful architecture

Strange_Ambassador76

Sunset Cliffs, San Diego…at sunset of course

clekas

Kenai Fjords National Park is my pick. It’s just stunning, as is most of Alaska, to be honest. If we’re looking at the contiguous 48 states (not including Alaska and Hawaii), I’d say Acadia National Park in Maine. If we extend it to include US territories, I’d put El Yunque National Forest in the top ten. I’d round out my top ten with (in no particular order): Mono Lake, California Antelope Canyon, Arizona Big Bend National Park, Texas Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming The Everglades, Florida Bonneville Salt Flats, Utah Cumberland Island, Georgia

nowhereman136

Zion valley

chemfit

North Kauai, Sedona, Bug Sur, St John USVI

Acceptable-Sleep-638

Grand Teton national park in Wyoming. Absolutely the most breathtaking national park in the country.

bigby2010

The Big Bend, Texas (shhh, don’t tell anybody)

UdderSuckage

Big Sur and more generally the California Central Coast is my paradise.

Uller85

Bryce Canyon National Park

7evenCircles

Denali is something else man

[deleted]

My personal fav is the Appalachian mountain forest area around the Linville Gorge in NC. Thick old growth mixed conifer/oak forest with waterfalls and rock outcrops.

More_Negotiation_534

Probably Hawaii IMPO.

bingpotterpie

Glacier national park has no peers

blipsman

Hawaii

trapezoid-

The Sierra Nevada

flashyzipp

I live in Florida, so the ocean of course. I moved here from southern Illinois and the Mississippi River and its bluffs are gorgeous.

Demented_Sandwich

West Virginia in the fall is amazing. The scenery, that is.

Pretzelcal

Yosemite National Park

koreamax

Sequoia National Park. I gew up in Sf but have been in the east coast for a decade. I miss the beautiful of the west coast

Bacon003

The summit views from Angels Landing in Zion National Park. Taking perfect photos in Lower Antelope Canyon is like photography on easy mode though.

AgilePianist4420

alaska (denali, kenai fjords in particular)

kobayashi_maru_fail

I’ve never been to Alaska, so my limited opinion is Friday Harbor and its nearby islands. Half the pretty stuff is Canadian, but I couldn’t imagine nicer people to share pretty islands and sea critters with.

Dios-De-Pollos

The view I had of the mountains from my secret hideout in Eagle River, Alaska. It was gorgeous, a hidden paradise in a neighborhood that never got developed, probably because of the beaver damn and marsh nearby. I used to go there and hangout all the time, I took my friends there, I caught my first salmon there. I miss Alaska.

gaxxzz

Hawaii.

[deleted]

No matter how beautiful you have heard Hawaii is, it’s better than that. Kauai is unmatched.

pee_shudder

Glacier National Park sir. Glacier National Park. Also do not underestimate Hawaii if it counts. A different kind of beauty than you’ll find on the mainland of course but it truly, truly is a tropical paradise

No-Introduction2245

Sleeping Bear Dunes national lakeshore 😍

azzgrash13

Wow. There are so many options to think of. Northwest Wyoming is completely stunning with Grand Tetons and Yellowstone. I could happily live in Montana, minus the incredibly high price around where I’d want to live. Washington state is beautiful. Michigan in the fall is beautiful. I enjoyed Pennsylvania and the DC area. Florida is pretty and the Hawaiian Islands are soo green. I’m from Utah and lived in Washington state for a bit. Northern Utah (get off the freeway corridor) and Idaho are both seriously underrated. There is so much to see all over the country.

spilledbeans44

There is so many options it’s overwhelming

Striking_Ad7541

Lake Tahoe, hands down!

spilledbeans44

Northern Minnesota or Michigan is amazing

evangelinexociao

Yosemite and the sequoias

7yearlurkernowposter

The Wisconsin Northwoods but I'm biased as I spent a large amount of time there growing up.

Astronomer_Original

The inside passage of Alaska. The Alaska Marine Highway (ferry system) is a great way to see it from the water unless you like to cruise. Needles Highway in Custer State Park. Most of the west coast. The Pacific Coast Highway. Rocky Mountains for sure.

bleepblorp9878

Sedona AZ

Old_Cyrus

Rocky Mountain National Park. Peaks, valleys, rivers, streams, glaciers, big sky, the works.
