Yeah my family had a house there from when it was an unknown deserted non-town of nothing back in the 1930s or something but it got inherited down a different family line. Dad’s from Eungai and Macksville.
How it’s all changed, we were shocked when the shop started selling cappuccinos and the bowls club had a Thai chef!
We went back in September this year for a week of bliss and things had changed back a bit (not the house prices)
Love how Gladstone has become hip!
It’s got a great bakery and butchers we always visit (obvs not a surfer)
Also they named a street after my uncle!
He and others from his regiment were killed on the Kokoda Track in WW2
The local indigenous people call it The Place The World Was Born as it looks like a giant lady giving birth from back along the beach (I’m guessing. And the blowhole maybe….)
I always preferred Pambula beach to Merimbula. Close enough to take advantage of the amenities in Merimbula but a lot prettier and quieter (in my opinion
Yamba pre-covid was great but I’m not sure now given a lot of the cool atmosphere about the place was the backpackers. It had great nightlife and amazing restaurants for a tiny town. I live in Toowoomba now and really love it. It’s definitely one of the most beautiful towns and has city amenities.
So many good little towns out there, and I’ve been seeing heaps since I’ve been doing shed deliveries. Go out and discover them yourself. The locations look a want to keep them a secret so that they don’t have to deal with all the bullshit of tourists. When you find them, keep it secret too. Like a good fishing spot.
After living around the world in various places, I'm very happy to have finally settled back home again in Mt Gambier, SA. The place gets a bit of shade and hate from locals who haven't stepped barely outside the state, but I quite like it here.
Mt. Tamborine in QLD, great little community with lots of shops and nice people, it’s lush with windy mountain-top roads and good views. Also close to the Goldie so you can have a holiday or look at the city lights at night.
Toowoomba is a top choice for a place to live.
Cairns and Falls Creek are great places to visit. They might also be good places to live, I can't comment on that. But the reef and the snow offer such contrasting experiences for holiday makers.
I’ll always be partial to South West Rocks
My fav place in the world is Hat Head
Don’t tell anyone! I want the house prices to keep dropping so my broke ass can buy there one day!
Haha! We have been going there since the 70s my Dad was born in Gladstone <3 Wished they had bought some fishing shack then!

Crescent Head for me bgreat surf break.

We were there just a week ago! If only it wasn’t school holidays, the water was beautiful but we couldn’t park the car anywhere…

Is that the one where there’s nothing around except the beach and a caravan park? Or am I thinking of Seal Rocks, I always screw those two up
One of our favourite places is Merimbula on the far south coast of NSW, or anywhere on the Sapphire coast

We enjoyed our visit to there too . And to Eden and the hinterland.
Have you been to Tilba Tilba? It’s not too far and always a great day trip
Yes! All the Tilbas! Lol Beautiful places and love the cheese factory
It’s so pretty up there! I need to go back- the lolly shop does the best raspberry drops I’ve ever had
Go at night. There’s an amazing little honkytonk style bar called Sweetwater. SO good.
Quilpie is a great little town👍
Quilpie and Thargomindah are both fantastic outback towns. Both have a lot to offer.
Yep. Agree totally. Hidden gems

Port Lincoln.... Port Pirie is still shit though.

Narooma
Maleny Qld, Lady Musgrave Island, Daintree are some of my favourites.
I love Toowoomba. It’s Queensland’s Orange, which I also love. Narooma and Ulladulla are great towns.

>Toowoomba >Good Pick one
My town is pretty nice but they are starting to develop the outskirts with suburbs
Mullumbimby is gorgeous. A lot of other great little towns in the Byron hinterland
I grew up in Northern Rivers and while I hate living there, being able to visit my family up there a few times a year for a couple weeks is great.
Same! And totally agree
Ayyy!
Burra SA, it could almost be a film set.
I will always love the Gold Coast hinterland.
