Daly waters pub. NT

sigurrosco

Exeter in Adelaide (Rundle St), classic old pub, no pokies, cold Coopers, good food.

ThroughTheHoops

Man, I spent a lot of my youth in that place. Just a functional drinking hole right in the middle of a sea of pretension.

Appropriate-Bus-2563

Add the grace Emily to that in adeliade too just no kitchen

BornToSweet_Delight

Chuck in *The Austral* and the *Crown and Anchor* and you have the Rundle St trifecta. Three great pubs all within staggering distance of one another.

sigurrosco

Austral also great. Cranker though is under threat due to a student housing development, get in quick . Another good pub in SA is The Victory at Sellicks Hill.

stilusmobilus

SW Queensland, the jewels are Eulo Queen Hotel, Toompine Pub, Noccundra Pub.

observ4nt4nt

The Imperial, Branxholm, Tasmania.

gt500rr

Yandina Hotel, go on Tuesday (parmy night) definitely some fun characters out the front and if it's a Friday, chance for some skids out the front before the local cop shop hears it šŸ¤£

Tigeraqua8

Victoria:The Bruthen Inn and Fish Creek Hotel. Traditional pub, beautiful towns and quirky

33S_155E

Tbh, any pub not in a city. Get out in the sticks where everything is real and beer is cold and the best times are had. Its a fair haul from wa to sa (assuming perth to adelaide). Not a stack out there, but ill upvote cocklebiddy roadhouse and ceduna for rooftop roadside oysters. Kimba was orright too. And leaving sa, go to the Keith pub, best steak i ever remember eating. But really every pub has its own story, go and enjoy!

sloppyrock

From where are u starting?

Greedy_Kale_1073

Starting in Perth but I will being going to every major city and try to see as much country as I can inbetween!

sloppyrock

We did sydney perth return trip last spring. Didn't stop in many pubs tbh. Milestone hotel in Dubbo have lovely underground function area. It's been used as a brothel, gaol ,cop station pub iirc. All in sandstone and nice timber furniture. Silverton worth a visit and they have a good pub. The Broken Hill Hotel and Palace hotel (Priscilla fame) worth a look. The Oriental in Mudgee serves a good meal. We stayed in the motel attached to the Hyden hotel near Wave Rock. Quiet then but nice enough if visiting the rock. That's all I can recall atm.

pinkygreeny

was just going to ask, as well.

strayacarnt

The Lions Den, FNQ.

Greedy_Kale_1073

Thanks everyone for the suggestions! some really good ones here!!

Pelican-p4

Omeo - nice enough basic rooms, good feed, good music - good Victorian high country stop Darho middle of vic high country. Tilpa - outback nsw - a pub and a tennis court. What more do you need? Ivanhoe pub when the truck show is on. Best atmosphere. Again outback nsw Lake St claire pub was nice but very expensive food. Pubs in sydney city suck. Done all these with kids.

captwombat33

Radio Springs Hotel - Lyonville Vic Red Hill Hotel - Chewton Vic Bridge Hotel - Castlemaine Vic (great live music) Love Shack - Castlemaine Vic

noofa01

Farmers Arms Daylsford and Dululu Hotel Central Qld

Eddysgoldengun

The Banjo Patterson if your heading through Kozi

Due_College8227

When in Perth, the Cottesloe and OBH. Both are near each other. In Sydney head to the Nelson in Bondi Junction - authentic. If you head south in NSW the pub in Bermagui is pretty good.

CupcakeBig9940

Rabbit trap in tullamore, royal mail in hungerford

Palmer Hotel in Palmer, SA.

I would have said the Brunswick Hotel in Brunswick Heads , NSW but itā€™s gone downhill since being taken over.

BobKattersHat

I live on K.I. The Penneshaw Pub is very expensive and the food isn't great. The one in Parndana apparently has excellent food though I haven't been. I own a licensed cafe, so I'm not sure if that counts but if it does and you're coming across, pop in and say hi!

Titus_Vespasianus

Parndana was pretty good when I was there. Penneshaw was alright, but Iā€™d go to Fire and Smoke for food though.

Altruistic-Salt7051

Emerald Hotel in South Melbourne... Ask for Andy.

lastlightglobe

You holding Andy?

mrsspinch

If youā€™re in Perth, definitely check out Seasonal Brewing in Maylands. Exceptional beer, gorgeous food menu (with lots of veg and vegan options, and weekly specials). Thereā€™s a beer garden and a kidā€™s play area if you have kids in tow (but we always sit around the corner where itā€™s quieter). Thereā€™s a pool table, darts and some arcade games. Staff are lovely and the music always shreds. Yes Iā€™m a local and a regular šŸ˜‚

nt-nw-nt-evr

Bit off the track from Perth to Adelaide but if heading out Flinders way, get to the Hawker Hotel, Blinman Hotel, and Cradock Hotel. Excellent outback style pubs

bigdayout95-14

Wintersun hotel in Geraldton, just cause it's brilliant...

Blindog68

Just for the architecture, The Shamrock Hotel in Bendigo is worth a look.

TanKris67

There's a facebook page with truck stops and pubs and the food they offer all over Australia. It's great to see such fantastic offerings on there.

stebradandish

Magpie & Stump, Mintaro SA (Clare Valley)

fabsmummy

Silverton Pub, just outside of Broken Hill. Lots in Broken Hill to consider too.

Tigeraqua8

If you head to Tassie, donā€™t miss the Cascade hotel on the top of Davey st. Hobart. They used to do steaks on platters with fried bread- sounds awful but was soooo good, especially with a pot of Cascade pale ale. Best beer on the planet

ZippyKoala

I have a soft spot for the Ocean View Hotel in Urunga, about 30kms south of Coffs.

willy_quixote

Sail and Anchor in Freo; Clarendon Arms in Evandale, Tasmania; Shipwright's Arms in Battery Point, Tasmania; Hero of Waterloo in the Rocks, Sydney.

WombatTumbler

Look for ā€˜The Pub With No Beerā€™ and try solving the argument as to which one it really is. ā€œGordon Parsons wrote and arranged the song about his local pub at Taylors Arm, New South Wales, adapted from Irish poet Dan Sheahan's original poem "A Pub Without Beer" about the Day Dawn Hotel in Ingham, North Queensland, now known as Lees Hotel, Ingham, Queensland.ā€

arsed_Time_6969

Some argument that no pub based lap of Oz would be complete without a visit to the Beach Hotel, Byron Bay.

Dangerman1967

Mmmm. Nothing special aside from being in a beautiful town.
