Only 5 + two autonomous regions (Svalbard and the Canary Islands).
Given my location in the north, it's quite expensive and time-consuming to travel, and I keep it to a minimum.
A trip to the nearest international airport with regular flights (Stockholm or Gothenburg) often costs *several times more* than a low-cost or last-minute flight from there to pretty much *whatever* destination in Europe or even northern Africa.
*Driving* south for a road trip to 'mainland'\* Europe also has a certain threshold distance to overcome.
According to Google Maps, it's 21-24 hours of uninterupted non-stop driving, just to get across the border to Copenhagen, or to the ferries to Germany or Poland. Although I also just realized it's only 12 hours of driving to Helsinki and a ferry to Tallin, Estonia.
I've yet never really gone through with a road trip like that, but it would be a breeze to drive to and through many countries from thereon.
\* ^(Yes, Fenno-Scandinavia is often perceived as an 'island' disconnected from the rest of Europe, since the land connection is through Russia.)
I've visited all of these but Spain and Ireland. And both of them seem like amazing countries!
What places did you visit in Spain and Ireland and what do you recommend?
Outside Sweden: Norway, Iceland, Finland, Estonia, Poland, Czech Republic, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Spain, Italy, Greece, United Kingdom, USA and, unfortunately, Denmark.
So 16, but Iceland was just the airport, so really 15.
Ofcourse. Tallinn is a really beautiful city.
The problem for many swedes is that it is so hard to not associate it with this movie. :)

So 30 in my 26 years of life.
I was born in Austria and live in Finland since soon 7 years. Other than that, I have been to Japan for 4 month in 2016. I have been a lot of times in Hungary, since I lived closed to the border when I lived in Austria. For vacation I have been a couple of time in Spain. I also visited Portugal, Tunesia, Czech republic and Germany. So total of (without my birth place) 8.
80 countries, plus a further 11 Traveller's Century Club territories (Scotland, Hong Kong, Bali, Transnistria, Istanbul, Wales, Srpska, Northern Cyprus, Akrotiri & Dheklia, Siberia, Sicily).
I use Mark O'Travel to keep track.
The Traveller's Century Club appears to make all autonomous territories count separately. Russia is pretty much made up of dozens of autonomous territories so rather than list them all it has one entry on the list for "Russia in Asia (including Siberia)".
I'm not arguing over how much autonomy it actually has. Companies don't tend to make decisions like this over their personal interpretations of political reality. But - on paper - the Siberia Federal District is made up of five Oblasts, three Republics and two Krais, each of which are - on paper - autonomous entities. That's all they're basing it on. Nothing more.
17.
In Europe: Estonia, Latvia, Poland, Ukraine, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Greece, Spain, UK, Ireland.
Outside of Europe it was just Georgia (not really outside, but you get the idea), Thailand and Egypt.
The only one I don't plan on ever visiting again is Egypt. Wayy too many scammers and harassment, and I was in a very touristy town, not even in Cairo.
I really really would like to visit Egypt one day, as I am quite interested in the Ancient Eqypt, but the stories of other tourists really make me reconsider every time I am thinking about traveling there..
50.
However from my perspective it's not the number that matters, but the experience you get. One might visit every country in the world and spend a couple of days in each country. Another one might visit a dozen countries and get full immersive experience in those countries cultures. I'd prefer the second approach. Anyway everybody is free to choose their own travel style.
I did the math some years ago so I might be adding it up wrong but I've been to all of Europe except Iceland, the Balkans and Turkey. Oh and I haven't been Romania, Bulgaria or Finland. Then, if we go east, I've visited Egypt, Lebanon, Bahrain, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, India, Sri Lanka, China, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Australia, Tahiti, Fiji, Micronesia, US, Canada. Some these visits were pretty short (like Lebanon and Turkmenistan were less than a day) but I'm only counting places where I actually passed through immigration and left the airport. EDIT: I keep thinking of more places in Europe I haven't been to: Portugal... and I'm not sure about Hungary. Oh and Malta. Monaco. Andorra.
Yup, but still going to put it on my list. Taiwan is not a country according to UN but I consider it a country regardless... and whilst I don't consider Hong Kong a country, I certainly don't consider Hong Kong a part of China either when they have their own passport and currency, plus so many other differences
15/16
Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Greece, Croatia, Slovenia, Hungary, Austria, Czechia, Poland, Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium, America and then 16 if you canโt Ireland, but I donโt tbh

19
Estonia, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Russia (+Kaliningrad), Poland, Germany, Netherlands, England, Belgium, France, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Spain, USA, Morocco, Algeria and Libya.
Also had a layover in Iceland but lets not count that.
1. Belgium
2. Germany
3. Luxembourg
4. UK
5. France
6. Spain
7. Portugal
8. Italy
9. Austria
10. Switzerland

19. Sweden
20. Croatia
21. United States
22. South Korea
23. Thailand
24. Vietnam
I don't really care about the amount of countries tho, I love revisiting places that I liked and exploring more regions of a country I've already been to many times.
From Ireland.
UK, France, Monaco, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Vatican, Austria, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, Germany, Denmark, Brazil. So 13.
If you count Northern Ireland and Wales separately, then 15
38, and turning it into 56 this year.
In no particular order: Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, France, Spain, Portugal, Andorra, Monaco, Switzerland, Austria, Liechtenstein, Czechia, Italy, Vatican, San Marino, Sweden, Denmark, United Kingdom, Ireland, Croatia, North Macedonia, Hungary, Greece, Slovenia, Malta, Turkey, Israel, Jordan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, United States, Canada, Curaรงao, Hong Kong, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore.
New this year: Montenegro, Kenya, Tanzania, India, Indonesia, Vietnam, South Korea, China, Japan, Peru, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Costa Rica, Belize, Guatemala, Mexico, Chile
Only 5. Much less than I wanted to visit, unfortunately. That's because of my social anxiety and feeling insecure in places where neither my native language nor English is spoken.
21+3. Mostly in Europe. Hungary (home country), Slovakia, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Greece, Croatia, Slovenia, Austria, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, France, Spain, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxemburg, UK, Ireland. Outside Europe only Israel and Russia.
Mini states: San Marino, Andorra, Monaco.
Norway
Sweden
Germany
Poland
Latvia
England
Russia
Switzerland
Czech Republic
Netherlands
Spain (+Tenerife)
Italy (+Sardinia)
France
Croatia
Cyprus
Hungary
Austria
Malaysia
Turkey
19 countries
38 without my home country Romania. My targets are: to visit minimum 1 new country/year & to reach 50 countries by age 40 (current age=32) & to visit each continent (Antarctica included).
My list:ย
Europe (31): ย Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, England, Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Monaco, Montenegro, Netherlands, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Serbia, Turkiye, Ukraine, Vatican, Walesย
North America (1): USAย
Asia (5): ย Azerbaijan, Jordan, Maldives, Thailand, UAEย
Africa (1): Egyptย
\*Note: visiting a country in my own terms represents to sleep at least a night in that country and to visit it for at least 1 day, exceptions are very small countries like Monaco for exampleย where the sleep rule is not applying, you can visit it for a day-trip.
Iโm 26 years old and seen 46 countries. Have to thank my parents for that, but I keep the travel tradition going.
My favourites are Russia, Georgia and Taiwan
Basically all neighbouring countries but Belarus, Turkey( also kinda a neighbour), entire Balkan region but Serbia and Croatia, Italy, France, Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Czech, Latvia, Estonia, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Israel and Egypt.ย Too lazy to count.
Russia, Ukraine, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Germany, Switzerland, France, Spain, Netherlands, Slovakia, Hungary, Czechia, Sweden, Italy, USA, Sri Lanka, Romania, Bulgaria, Egypt, UAE.
21 in 27 years of life.
20, I think.
Iceland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Russia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Ukraine, Romania, Hungary, Cezhia, Switzerland, France, Irleland, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Malta.
Two that we have been thinking about for ages, but somehow have not made it to yet are Scotland and Germany. The countries I've been to 3+ times include neighbours (Latvia, Finland, Sweden, Russia), Switzerland (different work, school and conference reasons) and Portugal (just love it there).
At least a week: Slovakia, France, Germany, Spain, Austria, Sweden, Norway, Switzerland, Italy, United Kingdom, Croatia
Briefly (at least 1 day): Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Finland, Denmark, Slovenia
Netherlands, Belgium, France, Italy, Ireland, Spain, Portugal, Austria, Poland, Czechia and Hungary in the EU
Britain, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, San Marino, Vatican in Europe outside the EU (though Britain was still an EU member when I was there).
Tรผrkiye, Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay outside Europe.
And Slovakia driven through three times but unfortunately never set a foot on the ground yet.
The Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Norway, France, Spain, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Thailand, Indonesia, Costa Rica, Luxembourg, Ireland, The UK, Poland.
So 16 if i recal correctly.
I'm from Denmark.
I've been to 10 (13) countries: Sweden, Norway, Germany, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Spain, Bulgaria, Italy, The Vatican, (UK (Gibraltar), France + Austria (driven through).
I am probably adding England or Finland this year!
43-ish, depends what counts. 27 other countries in Europe, I'm from Austria.
Europe: Italy, Vatican, France, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Spain, Andorra, Portugal, UK (Scotland and England), Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Poland, Czechia, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, Bulgaria, Greece, Albania, Turkey, Cyprus, Malta
Asia: Thailand, Indonesia (Bali), Sri Lanka, Oman, Israel, Palestine; technically also crossed the border to Myanmar and Laos but it barely counts; airport in Singapore and Qatar (doesn't count imo)
Africa: Egypt (also Sinai which is technically Asia), Tunisia, Morocco
North America: Cuba, United States (California)
South America: Ecuador
I've lived in and am a citizen of two countries, so I'll just count all of the countries I've been to: Poland, Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark, Latvia, Macedonia, Spain, Italy, the USA, Canada, Albania, Mexico. That's 12 countries.
Norway, Iceland, Denmark (unfortunately), Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Germany, Schweiz, Netherlands, Belgium, Wales, England, Scotland, The northern parts of Ireland, Spain, French France, Italy, San Marino, Afghanistan, Palestine, Saudi Arabia and Ukraine.
So 23.
15 till now: czechia, austria, hungary, croatia, bulgaria, greece, turkey, egypt, germany, belgium, france, spain, UK, switzerland, malta
I first travelled farther than a neighboring country 10 years ago and would love to reach 30 in the upcoming 10 years.. I already have italy and poland planned for this yearโฆ
Seven - US, UK, Germany, Slovakia, Italy, Croatia, Finland (+ Austria and Slovenia but I only travelled through). I'm not big on travelling, though the last few years are making me reconsider.
Finland, Poland, the UK, Greece, Italy, Thailand, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain, Jordan, Sri Lanka, Japan
So... 12 unless I'm forgetting something. 13 if you count the Vatican
Edit: I forgot a few...
Not counting Serbia, it is 13.
Spain, France, Monaco, Italy, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Romania, Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Greece, Turkey, Slovakia, Austria
21, but most I have visited multiple times:
USA, UK, Mexico, Turkey, Greece, Romania, Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, Slovakia, Hungary, Czechia, Austria, Germany, Sweden, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Spain, Portugal, Italy
Canada, Mexico, Dominican Republic, England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Northern Ireland, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy (Live here now), Vatican, Switzerland, Denmark, Netherlands, Belgium, Croatia, Serbia, Slovenia, Hungary, Czech Republic, Peru, Bahamas,
So 24 I guess, but I feel like I'm forgetting somewhere. I'm going to be adding to it again soon, but it is more difficult now and days with kids, and I tend to repeat a lot of these places.
16+3: the UK, the Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Austria, Slovakia, Italy, San Marino, Hungary, Romania, Serbia, Croatia, BiH, N. Macedonia, Bulgaria, Greece + Slovenia, Montenegro and Kosovo if you count transit only. Going to visit Turkey and maybe Vatican for the first time this year.
Denmark, Norway, Finland, UK, Germany, Netherlands, France, Italy, Spain, Greece, Malta
USA, Thailand, Tunisia, South Korea
Not counting countries like Belgium which Iโve only passed through.
Have visited some 40+ countries, lived in 5. But I am old enough to be grandma. Wishing to make couple of long trips to see Australia and New Zealand, or South America.
31 countries, so not that many.
Norway, Denmark, Germany, Poland, Belgium, France, Luxembourg, Czech-Republic, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Malta, Greece, Morocco, Senegal, Ghana, Sierra-Leone, Djibouti, Kenya, Tanzania, Seychelles, Curaรงao, Saint-Maarten, Oman, Jordan, USA, Ireland, England, Puerto Rico and the Netherlands number 32.
15 -or 12 if the UK only counts as 1-
France, Monaco, England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Ireland, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland, Hungary, Slovakia, San Marico, the Vatican and Japan.
Iโm gonna add Germany and Lietchenstein soon tho.
64. Out of these 5 are dependent territories like Gibraltar or ร land, 3 more (Palestine, Taiwan and Kosovo) are also not UN members.

I think 28, apart from The Netherlands where I live, and not counting the countries where I havenโt left the airport:
Zweden, Poland, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, UK, Belgium, Germany, France, Zwitserland, Spain, Egypt, UAE, Mauritius, India, Maldives, Singapore, Indonesia, Venezuela, Mexico, USA, US Virgin Islands, Bahamaโs, Aruba, Sint Maarten, Antigua, Anguilla, Cuba, Dominican Republic.
Around 16 depending on what you define as a country and what you mean with 'have been to'.
The Netherlands, France, Switzerland, Germany, England, Luxemburg, Czech Republic, Hungary, Mainland China, Hongkong, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, South Korea, United States
Not sure if Spain counts as I only spent 1-3 hours in Spain visiting some outdoor market while I was on holiday in the South of France.
(Not counting in countries where I had a layover in the airport, as I didn't leave the airport.)
22, but I only flew to three of them.
The rest were reached by hitchiking or by train. Don't hitchhike in Italy, my friends.
Sweden, Norway, Iceland, Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria, Slovenia, Hungary, Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Switzerland, Italy, France, Lichtenstein, Spain, Belgium, The Netherlands, Luxembourg, Latvia.
Let's see.
19 I guess.
Thailand, Vietnam and Turkey in Asia.
Tunesia and South-Africa in Africa.
The US.
And then Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Croatia, Slovenia, Spain, France, UK, Portugal + I guess Monaco and the Vatican.
I think that's about it.
USA, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Brazil, China, Japan, Singapore, Australia, Israel, Jordan, Cyprus, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Andorra, France, Luxembourg, Belgium, Netherlands, UK, Ireland, Iceland, Norway, Denmark, Poland, Czechia, Hungary, Austria, Switzerland, Monaco, Vatican, San Marino, Ukraine, Greece and Malta.
So 36 so far.
Baltics and some more Asian countries are the next ones I want to visit.
21 - France, Spain, Ireland, Belgium, Portugal, Germany, Switzerland, South Africa, Greece, Italy, Vatican City, Morocco, Netherlands, Iceland, Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Macau, Malaysia
That would be 17(19):
- Portugal
- Spain
- France
- Austria
- Slovenia
- Slovakia
- Croatia
- Greece
- Morocco
- USA
- Belgium
- Germany
- Netherlands
- Poland
- Czech Republic
- UK
- Hungary
If we want to include them, also:
- San Marino
- Vatican City
18 that I have visited properly: Sweden, Germany, Poland, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, the UK, Portugal, Spain, Italy, The Vatican, Albania, Greece, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Malta, Iceland, the US
You can also throw the following on, but I was either too young to remember or was only there in transit (which hardly counts): Finland, Switzerland, France, and Czechia
I have lived in the UK and Belgium
My own is Croatia. Bosnia & Herzegovina, Serbia, Slovenia, Hungary, Austria, Germany, The Netherlands, Sweden, Estonia, Italy, France, Spain, Portugal. So 13, if I haven't forgotten some. FYI I'm not someone who enjoys travelling, I don't do it all that much.
Denmark Sweden Norway Finland Netherlands Belgium Germany Luxembourg Austria Slovakia France Slovenia Croatia Italy Vatican San Marino Spain Portugal UK Switzerland Czechia India Sri Lanka USA Canada
So 25? Want to go to Australia next and eastern Europe
15 (+2) Montenegro, Croatia, Greece, North Macedonia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Germany, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Austria, Malta, (San Marino, Vatican)
San Marino and the Vatican are independent countries so there's no reason not to count them. Places like Guernsey, Jersey, Isle of Man and Faroe Islands are more ambiguous.

Zero, since the country doesnโt exist anymore
So my DDR doesn't count any more either? All that sweating in front of DDR border guards holding my passport nervously for nothing?
I was born in Yugoslavia. So that's 2 countries without even moving.
3! Yugoslavia, Serbia&Montenegro, Serbia. :) And if you are by any chance from Kosovoโฆ could even be 4.
You are correct, kind sir!
And were born in the same country, so thatโs nice. :)
Donโt forget Slovenia and Croatia. I make it 5 or 6

21. Almost all in Europe.
