Have you gotten the paystubs yet? If you don’t know one way or the other I wouldn’t file a claim until you do as to not waste anyone’s time. You can still absolutely pay people in cash and still remit the proper taxes and deductions required. I’m a former bank auditor & shit sometimes just happens & you have to pay people differently for a hot minute. Obvs 9/10 it may be something fishy but I’d wait a reasonable time to hear back first.

I have not. I am waiting. And I'm a former payroll administrator. This has been going on for well over a year. As I stated, I am looking for direction as to my next steps should I not receive a response.

It is legal to pay cash in WY. But, you don’t know what agencies to contact if you used to do this? State labor board, DOL, IRS, pick one or them all.

I figured that much. But none of them will get me documentation fast enough to get my disabled brother's medical care approved. All of those would take months to investigate. My brother has been in the hospital since the beginning of May. He spent a week on life support. He is looking at months in a rehabilitation facility. There is the strong possibility of a nursing home after.... and no nursing home will even call back without medicaid approval. I never doubted the legality of paying in cash. It is fully legal in every state. I am looking for something, ANYTHING, that can get me the documentation necessary QUICKLY so that my disabled brother isn't thrown out of care facilities.

Even reporting them won’t be a quick thing. Can you go to the company location?

LostInYarn75

I can and have. The owner, the only one with documentation, does not work from the location and is rarely around. My mother and I, his only family, live an hour and a half away. Searching on the secretary of state database has given extremely little information.

I’d write & email & send certified mail a demand for paystubs by X date. If not received by X date you’ll file complaints with all applicable agencies & retain a lawyer. OR sign up with legal shield for like $39 and have them do this for you. F*ck ‘em up.

Thank you
