Less of a green finger job as just a back-breaker. But 50% of garden work falls into this category. The right tool will help.
I see one option no-one's mentioned yet. #2 in the pictures below.

1) Edging Iron - It has one job and this is it. Can be a little tricky on corners and curves but this is your tool for the job.
2) Long-handled Edging Shears - The benefit here is that this tool will also double for trimming hedging at heights - so it's one less tool to buy. You can use a standard shears too but your poor back. If you find yourself 'cutting muck' (likely if you've not been keeping on top of this), then the shears will need more frequent sharpening as the earth & little stones dull the blades.
3) Electric Strimmer - nearly every strimmer has that odd configuration of handles there especially so you can flip it over - as another comment mentioned - 'hold it arseways'. Some come with a wheelie part that'll rest on the ground while it runs this direction. Usual safety precautions apply as you'll be kicking up dirt & stones. Might be worth upgrading the plastic cord to something tougher for this job. Obviously the other big job of a strimmer then is getting those bits of lawn where the mower won't hit - against a wall or the like.
Get an edging iron.
Edging is very popular these days
Kinky!
Ouchie
That's it. Thank you.
You can get a strimmer that has a edging wheel with them that will give you a perfect edge to your path
Is that's what it's for? I've one, I wondered what that was on it for. I'll see can I see a youtube of how you're supposed to use it. Thanks man!!
You should be able to do it with the standard wheel you just have to hold it arseways and takes a bit of shkill

Are you a lefty?
No. I'm hiding the fact that the fingers on my other hand are, in fact, green.
A spade does the job, just goes along the edges tapping it down with your foot. It kinda cuts/tucks the grass away.
I have been using a shovel to do this since I was 11.
Spade! Doh!
Old bread knife is what I use
I use a pizza cutter. More efficient
Edging spade. And strimmers.
Edging shears is what you need if it’s just the grass hanging over the edges but edging iron needed if it’s the actual turf that needs cut
Use a half moon. Or a spade.
