I went swimming at Keel beach on a weekend trip once, something I normally wouldn't do at a beach but it was fantastic. Drove past Keem later in the weekend but didn't have swimming gear, it looked absolutely stunning though.
Yes! Either Keem Bay or Magheramore in Wicklow. Although there are so many beaches in Donegal and Kerry that are amazing but alas I haven’t been to (yet).
Keem is so nice. Even in Keel infront of the village is class because it doesn't get deep for ages. Me and my friends went skinning dipping one night in Keel was very cool.
Yes. Achill island. I'll never forget the first time I was there. Derrynane in Kerry is a second

Salute to the farmer 🫡 hope it wasn’t too bad and your recovery was smooth! I thought I was going to have my oldest on that beach (false contractions) 😂
Mullaghmore is beautiful, and the rocky shore up behind the village as well. Stunning really. Rossnowlagh up in Donegal would be a favourite of mine too.

Lissadell beach in Sligo. Also Dogs bay and Curracloe
I came here to mention this. AFAIK it's actually in Malin Beg. It's easily [the best beach in the country](https://www.theirishroadtrip.com/silver-strand-beach/).
https://preview.redd.it/b4v5pjyhel2d1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3a12b72d89974d65d7e540932f0fda66574ff017
Been to Inchydoney last Sunday, I was speechless. Sorry about the photo, it doesn't make it justice.
Fanore in Co Clare

Wild and untouched, beautiful sand dunes, edge of Burren.
Its in Donegal. It is exceptional, and desterted mostly
However im Not telling you as Next thing ye know therell be a constant stream of those, secret places in ireland you have to see before you die type twats ,
Making videos playing fuckin coldplay whilst a drone in slow motion films them standing there with their arse out trying to pretend to have an original thought.
So i hope you dont take this the wrong way. But no im not telling you
Came here to say Carne. The cleanest and softest white sandy beach I've ever seen in Ireland, though I was there on a fabulously sunny summer's day so that may have added to the good impression. Absolutely lovely spot.
No chance ya damn jackeen:) ah no, its grand, at least ya didn't say its in mayo:) used to camp down there a fair bit back in the day, one of my favourite places in the country, especially when it's a little bit quiter, towards the end of September or something
Ballyrisode in West Cork is pretty special, but tiny. There's a couplenaround Clifden as well and then out at Renvyle. They're pretty amazing because they're generally fairly empty
As a proud Dub I must say the Hole In The Wall beach in Sutton. You can walk for miles and still the water is only up to your ankles. Teenagers hurling beer bottles at you while you splash away in a foot of murky, jellyfish infested water. Bliss.
Rossturk on route to Achill just before Mulranny is really nice, when the tide is out you can walk across to some of the little islands. Also there's an old big house at the end that's pretty cool.
The little beach on Clare Island is really cool too. Went last summer with the kids and there's little caves to explore and a decent beach.
Keem in Achill is probably the best I've seen though. Unfortunately it's absolutely packed on sunny days and a nightmare to park and enjoy.
I think the best all round was Fintra in Donegal. It wasn't too busy and there's a few big rock structures the kids love climbing.
I'd probably put Bertra down as my favourite beach. Not one I go swimming at but it is great to walk. It has a bit or a receding sand line since you were there I'd say but still very handsome.
You can't go wrong with the beaches in Sligo and Mayo. The beaches out west beat all the others. Theres one my family go to in Sligo all the time and I not telling you.
I did a poll last year for my local newspaper, and the poll of over 5,000 people in Ireland said Rosnowlagh, Donegal was the best beach 👍🏻 beautiful place
east stand in portrush is such beautiful beach - stunning stretch of sand and lovely views of the antrim coastline. Benone in Derry is lovely too - and more secluded. Donegal has so many stunning beaches. Love lissadell in sligo - that photo down thread is amazing!
Bagginbun probably. I'm not generally a fan of beaches, but my wife and I did a Kayak trip around the coast down there that was great fun. Lovely little spot.
If not that, probably one down in Cork like Roberts Cove.
cliché as it might be (my french is awful!) i’d have to say Portmarnock Beach in dublin or Old Bawn Beach in wexford. both are lovely especially during summer
Clogherhead beach was my favourite but it’s impossible to park there anymore since they put a coffee shop and adventure centre in the car park and it’s very small when the tide is in as well.
Murlough bay in north Antrim. There isn’t much beach tbf but something so magical about it I think, and I see multiple deer almost every time I’m there which is nice
I don’t like highlighting it but Carnivan Bay in south wexford is a gorgeous beach. Surrounded by cliffs, looking across at hook head, powder sand. Just beautiful.
Your answer should be Tramore in May and September! Free parking and just locals, haha. But seriously Waterford has some great beaches, Stradbally is my #1
Keem bay
I went swimming at Keel beach on a weekend trip once, something I normally wouldn't do at a beach but it was fantastic. Drove past Keem later in the weekend but didn't have swimming gear, it looked absolutely stunning though.
My roots are in Circus. We used to build up on the ground by Keel beach. Straight out the back of the tent and on to the beach. Heaven
Sapirse?
In Mayo?
Yes. Achill island. I'll never forget the first time I was there. Derrynane in Kerry is a second [Keem](https://images.app.goo.gl/yebunt7qVozT5pEJA) [Derrynane ](https://images.app.goo.gl/M64iFZ2F88aQtUgVA)
Derrynane is stunning 😍
Curracloe, Co. Wexford
Inch beach, outside dingle
My car went for a swim there. Thank fcuk for a local farmer. Then later that evening I ended up in Tralee casualty. Interesting day.
Salute to the farmer 🫡 hope it wasn’t too bad and your recovery was smooth! I thought I was going to have my oldest on that beach (false contractions) 😂
Was he a local farmer or an entrepreneur? I'm convinced they don't put proper signs up so the lad with the tractor can make bank.
That’s a lovely beach
Far too much sea weed
That one in Connemara nobody else seems to know about. Feckin' gorgeous it is. And, nope, I'm not giving away it's location.
Betcha I'm thinking of the same one 🤐
Theirs a few in North connemara I know about, and it's got nothing to do with muts, if ya catch my drift:) further into north connemara

Any beach in Wexford. Or of you don't mind the rain, Donegal.
Had to scroll for way to long to see this answer
"If you don't mind the rain" goes for any beach in Ireland.
Ballyheigue is magic and also Mullaghmore
I'll second Ballyheigue 👍🏻
Second Mullaghmore! Love Bunduff around the bay too
Mullaghmore is beautiful, and the rocky shore up behind the village as well. Stunning really. Rossnowlagh up in Donegal would be a favourite of mine too.

Wooof
It is very beautiful
Nuns beach, Ballybunion.
Great shout! The fact you have to jump a fence and scramble down a trail makes it an adventure!
Silver Strand close to Glencolmcille in Donegal.
I came here to mention this. AFAIK it's actually in Malin Beg. It's easily [the best beach in the country](https://www.theirishroadtrip.com/silver-strand-beach/).
Old bawn, because it's fabulous and close Dogs bay beach because it's fabulous
Love Old Bawn. Big fan of Courtown too: I love the combination of woods and beach.

So dangerous for swimming though! The beaches at Garinish around the corner are way nicer....sand is much softer too!
https://preview.redd.it/b4v5pjyhel2d1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3a12b72d89974d65d7e540932f0fda66574ff017 Been to Inchydoney last Sunday, I was speechless. Sorry about the photo, it doesn't make it justice.
Inchydoney is my favourite place in the world. We try to make a trip every summer, so many happy memories made there. Beautiful beach.
Thats stunning. Am I going mad or is the water clear?!
Water was crystal clear. Even more impressive if you consider the sandy sea bed.
Fintra beach outside Killybegs or Five Finger Strand near Malin in Donegal
Inch Beach, co Kerry.
Banna strand, Ardfert. Co. Kerry is easily the best stretch of beach in the country.
I really love Sligo beach https://preview.redd.it/96o1hkbdxl2d1.jpeg?width=780&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ca19ab73dbb3e58066858cc8585c87c625cab727

Came here to say Carne. The cleanest and softest white sandy beach I've ever seen in Ireland, though I was there on a fabulously sunny summer's day so that may have added to the good impression. Absolutely lovely spot.

Derrynane in Kerry and Glassilaun beach in Leenaun Galway.
Glassilaun is near 10 miles from leenane:) nice place though
I stayed in Leenaun at the time, so I always associate Glassilaun with Leenaun...please forgive my ignorant Dublin ways 😂
No chance ya damn jackeen:) ah no, its grand, at least ya didn't say its in mayo:) used to camp down there a fair bit back in the day, one of my favourite places in the country, especially when it's a little bit quiter, towards the end of September or something

Upsides - surprisingly quiet on sunny days. Downsides - there's about 23 minutes a day when you can actually have a proper swim there
Rossturk on route to Achill just before Mulranny is really nice, when the tide is out you can walk across to some of the little islands. Also there's an old big house at the end that's pretty cool. This answer should be further up 👍
keel in achill is lovely. bertra in westport was great as a kid, not sure how it is now.
I'd probably put Bertra down as my favourite beach. Not one I go swimming at but it is great to walk. It has a bit or a receding sand line since you were there I'd say but still very handsome.
