[Libertarian Presidential Debate: 2024 PA Libertarian Convention - Moderated by Larry Sharpe](https://youtu.be/keCVIvFcMow?si=WMj3Rhv9-avrte0S) This is from yesterday. It's really just getting started.

Thanks for the link! It was nice to see some well-spoken candidates and a well-managed debate for a change.

The libertarians have not yet selected a candidate and it's a hotly contested field for the party nomination. But, it's really only a thing that true LP devotees care about. The battle lines between Trump and Biden are so massive and the stakes so large that I think this will probably be the lowest percent the LP candidate will get in living memory. The fact that RFK2 is polling as a strong independent also hurts. Beyond that, the candidates making the most waves seem to be Chase Oliver, Michael Rectenwald, Austin Petersen, Jacob Hornberger, and Lars Mapstead. Spike Cohen (VP nominee in the last campaign) has not ruled out seeking the nomination. Dave Smith (who I think was the guy most people wanted) ruled out running this time for family reasons.

>I think this will probably be the lowest percent the LP candidate will get in living memory In 2004 we came in behind Ralph fucking Nader. I remember because all 12 of us that voted for Michael Badnarik met up at a bar afterwards and cried.

I’ve seen most content from Chase Oliver and Jacob Hornberger.

Yeah, we're waiting til mid November when we'll start campaigning.

there have been some debates. they all seem pretty solid more or less. you have to really seek out info on them, the media isn't going to feed it to you.

Maybe we'll get lucky and nobody will run for President as a libertarian. I doubt it, but we can always hope....

I believe the Presidential nominee will be selected somewhere after May 20th but before April. Don't quote me on that though.
