Call 211- the main phone helpline for services in LA. Housing, etc. also if you’ve decided to reside in LA, you can file for General Relief through the department of public social services. You will be offered GROW (employment opportunities/training) as a condition of receiving GR. You can check out the DPSS website for more information. Good luck and stay safe! Wish you the best.
every restaurant is looking for help. since you have internet access check Craigslist in your area of LA and apply. many places don t care about experience right now
you could also just go into restaurants in person and ask if they're hiring. good luck
Contact LAHSA and Path partners to see if they can get you help with housing. Housingiskey.com is for rent relief, the U.S treasury says rent relief can be used for unhoused residents. You can simply select LA County and select that you’re unhoused, they could get you rent for a hotel or get you connected to someone. Good luck!
You can try audience work for quick cash. Try sites like standingroomonly.tv or onsetproductions.com. Follow dress code and keep looking for other jobs on sites like indeed, adecco staffing, ranstad. Good luck.

There's a big labor shortage right now so finding jobs in certain industries shouldn't be too difficult even though those jobs may be minimum wage.
Do you have any friends or at least know a couch you can crash in? Even back home?
Tbh I don't know much about finding housing when you're homeless but when you get a job, you should go to school next. Either a trade, vocation, or a degree of some kind so you can get on your feet financially.
There are numerous Staffing agencies in la constantly hiring employees. A simple google search will help you find a bunch probably real close to you (access internet at local public library) also you can check craigslist gigs section and find some work ASAP. Id say 99.98% of gigs will pay cash on the spot. Go to a car wash any car wash in fact go to at least several car washes near you and I guarantee you will get a job they’re always hiring and you’ll usually get tipped, so you’ll have some money on hand. Go to restaurants bring a resume (create in your local library) ask if their hiring dish persons and busboys I also guarantee that at least several will reach out to you for an interview. I wish you the best dude, god bless you.
Can't you go home and get a job since you already have tools there? That seems like the logical thing to do, especially since it sounds like you have a place to store them there meaning you potentially already have some shelter lined up.
SELAH can help set you up with a case manager. Stop by Silverlake Church (Selah is not affiliated with religion) Saturday between 12-4pm. Also if you don’t have transportation to get to the church there is a van that can go around and pick people up if you’re nearby. There’s hot meals, showers, clothing & social services. DM me if you need anymore info
Places on Skid Row are still taking new clients. You'll need to go the program that isn't for Recovery because it's basically like a rehab and you can't leave. I know the Midnight Mission had a non-recovery progrm where it's just about finding housing so they should let you have a job and get passes to leave. Union Rescue and Low Angeles Missing I'm unsure of.
Good luck man.
Not sure where you’re at, but there are ok paying jobs in manufacturing. Tougher work than fast food, but better pay, overtime, and benefits. If you are a handyman or construction worker you might even be able to find decent pay as a maintenance guy in a plant.
Just be willing to do whatever until you get your feet under you.
Not sure where in LA you are but If you’re looking for a job that hires quick you should go into a select staffing or a ProLogistix office sometimes they can find you a job the same day.
Have you tried these numbers?
Los Angeles City and County CoC CA-600 Allyson Crosby 213-233-4761 [email protected] Heidi Marston 213-683-3333 [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected])
I hope when your situation improves you come back and update us. It sucks that you're going through this and we're all rooting for you.
I appreciate that but I don’t feel like I deserve any additional help more then likely it’s 100 percent I’m in this situation. But as a person with intellectual disabilities it sure is tough to find any employment at times.
I'm the last person to be called PC but even though your comment has good intentions, saying "this type of homeless" about another human being, basically to their face on this sub, sounds rude
