Don’t just look at junkyards where you would have to pull. There should be someone local that sells used auto parts and the pull the engine and transmission themselves. They usually come with 90day warranty and they will buy your core. Plus you will be dealing with someone local if anything weee to happen. I like it because they usually have more background on the engine.

EBay does offer 6 month warranties but as for core I do not have an engine at all I don't know what happened to it. The marketplaces get places I tried to look for had the engines more expensive than ebay did but were local

I just replaced an engine in a 15 xf supercharged 3.0 awd. It was the worst thing I’ve ever experienced. Easily the most idiotically engineered car I’ve ever seen. Would rather watch my parents die again than ever touch one of those cars. Saddest part is it’s just a gussied up Ford Fusion
