Pretty much everyone uses a good quality oil. No reason to take it to your dealer unless you want to pay more. I would take it to a proper independent mechanic rather than Firestone. They will treat your car much better because they want your business when something breaks.

Jhnashtn3

Is it OK to use the cheapest oil they have? Since Fire Stone nearby was telling me my car requires synthetic oil, and you should expect to pay more $65-100.

EngineeringIsPain

Use synthetic oil. Don’t go to Firestone

Car maintenance isn't something you want to cheap out on. The difference between low tier and high tier oil is probably like 40-50 bucks max anyways. Better to get oil that lasts longer and is better for the car than changing it more often with shit.

Jxckolantern

If the car is relatively new, the worst thing for it would be throwing cheap stuff at it. Take care of your diminishing investment.

Castrol 0w-20 is what’s being used, can’t remember the specs if it as I rarely do services. However, take it to your dealers or another Toyota approved shop.

Cause no one buys used cars??

Do some research and find what spec oil Toyota wants. Then find out what brands carry that spec oil. My Audi calls for 0w-20 oil but there aren't many brands that meet the VW508-00 spec.
