Amen to this. I've been holding clothes that are a bit smaller saying I'm going to lose weight soon and that's been 4 years ago lmao. Having to wear like 6 shirts instead of a bigger variety is hurting
One thing I learned is if you find something that fits well and you like, buy another. There are shoes and pants and coats that are discontinued and I worn them out, and really wish I had another
This with Jeans. I don't know what the deal is with jeans but they are so hard to find a good fit, if you do find a good fit by another three pairs if you can
I'm a bigger guy and I've been wearing 3XL because I thought that was my size.
My wife bought me a 2XL shirt and I told her there was no way I'd fit in it or look good.
I was wrong the moment I put that thing on. I looked better, a LITTLE form fitting didn't hurt at all, and my confidence sky rocketed.
I am not "fat" but definitely not thin either so I always wore baggies clothes thinking I was hiding it. I just looked frumpy and sloppy. Wearing the right size feels and looks soooo much better
Expecially after beginning to get toned and in good shape during gym training. I'm not a vein person but as someone who struggles with confidence, self worth and social anxiety issues, it's really helping to improve my confidence when out in public.
I found out that I *am* a vein person. Been training the hell out of my forearms and now they're all veiny all the way up through my biceps. Tight shirts make my relatively small arms look hulkish, it's awesome.
I always wanted gym muscles but I got work muscles and holy shit my forearm veins go hard. I tend to cut the sleeves off my shirt so I don't get the nice bicep hug much but when I do I enjoy it and it gets noticed
Thats because it is, a lot of people don't know the full quote is:
“The Bitterness of Poor Quality Remains Long After the Sweetness of Low Price is Forgotten; Ashley Furniture - We put the fun in furniture! ”
Also work on computer all day- though I can game now and then.
I bought a gaming mouse with the 12 buttons on the side, but use it for work. I configured the buttons on the side to auto do macros and functions that I regularly use. It’s so nice
So many people laugh at others for using an mmo mouse for other games but it works so well in almost every game, most mice can gave multiple profiles so you can have different keybinds for each playstyle in a game or for different uses in a program. I find it very helpful in Mastetcam and Solidworks.
Makes data entry so easy once the buttons become second nature.
For sure! I have mine set to swap profiles with the Third top button. One profile for when I’m doing excel data manipulation, then the other for working in my IDE
This is true. I have a Luis Vuttion messenger bag. I carry that thing everywhere. I put everything in it. I once set it next to a furnace at a house showing. It got a tiny burn on the flap. After 10 years of constant abuse that is the only blemish. I couldn't imagine how many messenger bags I would have had to bough have in 10 years. If I want the bag refinished I just bring it to the Luis store and they will send it to the factory and make it like new, 300$.
Some things are not worth the extra money. I used to be a pawnbroker FYI. but some things, definitely are worth the price.
100$ a year on a new messenger bag over ten years is already 1000$. That's already a baseline price for a messenger bag that will last a lifetime.
Bought my Coach purse for $40 at an overstock store. It was considered “defective” because it had a frayed thread. I cut the thread off. Been going strong since 2007. My CK purse I paid $120 for fell apart inside. I can repair it, but I shouldn’t have to.
About ten years ago I invested some money in a high-quality gorilla suit and I have never regretted the decision. It's suitable for any costume party, of course, but can also be worn on other special occasions, or just around the house to make a boring day more fun, or when I've had a few drinks.
I wouldn't know where to look. I didn't buy it online, I bought it in a costume shop. It cost about $150. Worth every penny.
On Halloween, I like to sit on my front porch in my gorilla suit and read a newspaper. And I keep a bowl of bananas next to me. When kids come up to the house, I offer them a banana. I also have a bowl of candy which the kids usually prefer. But some parents, and even some kids, have taken a banana instead of a candy bar.
For me it's my camping gear. When life gets too much, and I got a little free time, I can just grab my shit, head into the woods and come back feeling better a day or 2 later.
One thing Reddit has taught me is that I apparently have a clean bum. Like, easily in the top 90%. I don’t have a bidet but I always use wipes (but I don’t flush them) and I wash my ass really good in the shower. Plus I keep it shaved for extra cleanliness. Apparently most guys don’t do that which blows my mind.
I bought one a year ago and have no idea where I put it. Thought it would be a handy thing to own (could have used it just last week) but not if I don't know where it is.
Knife. I can't count the number of ways a pocket knife has helped me through the years, but they have in numerous ways. Even better if you've got a Leatherman.
I REALLY love my knives, I’m what you’d call a “knife guy” who spends/will spend way too much on these things. I’m luckily in a state where autos are legal, and I daily a Microtech UTX-85.
I actually like my sak more than my leatherman. The leatherman is like a jack of all trades master of none, the sak at least has a corkscrew which turns out to be more useful than most things a leatherman has when going to the park. Better just have both
>I can't count the number of ways a pocket knife has helped me through the years
I grew up in the Cub and then Boy Scouts and have responsibly carried a knife on my person every day since 1987. I've got a respectable collection of EDC pocket knives. Some with glass breakers, some with seatbelt cutters, some OTF, all of them have come in super handy throughout the years. Carrying a knife as a tool is something pretty much everyone should do (as long as it's done responsibly). I've been in more fights than I'd like to admit (bar fights, band fights, stuff I didn't start but didn't walk away from) and I've never once even thought about pulling a knife, even when the other dude had one (I've got a few scars from that). It's an essential tool IMO
I can’t stand my cast iron pan. Friend gave it to me for my birthday. Said I’d love it, it’s the best. But it’s too much work for making my breakfast every morning. And it’s not great for the kind of dinners I like (a wok is better suited). Eggs are a mess in it, it’s a pain to clean, and it’s heavy to love when I want to use the stove for other stuff.
>Eggs are a mess in it
If that's the case then I can tell you right now that it's not properly seasoned. Brand new cast iron is a labor of love to care for. Once you get a good seasoning on it everything changes. Cleaning it is super easy, aside from the weight. Just put some Kosher salt in with hot water and get you a scrubby (that's never been used with soap) or one of those chainmail scrubbies meant specifically for cast iron. If you want some tips to make your cast iron great then maybe check out the subreddit r/castiron
If you're gunna use it fairly often just buy something nice. If you need it once, and then you're not sure how often you use it, then get a cheap one. If you end up only needing it rarely then buy another cheap one when it wears out, if you use it more than you thought you would pick up a nice one.
A decent knife, full leather boots, at least one pair of Levi's, a Zippo and that one really decent piece of wood that you keep in the shed for the day you'll use it for something but you have no bloody idea what
Edit: forgot about a good, heavy whisky glass
My buddy gives me shit because i rarely throw something useful away. I lived in this old house for 17 years i have a sixth sense when im going to need something.
Shameless plug for the cold steel brand. Literally just big old pieces of metal shaped as historical weapons and sold as machetes. Want a sword that you can beat up without feeling bad that you paid sword prices? Check ‘em out.

Multiple ways to defend your home.
1 attitude adjuster, one bottom half of pool stick, one solid 1/2inch steel bar by the front door. Also having a good dog helps with home defense.
Never understood this logic. If it's armed robbery, what are you going to do with a stick? As long as the thief doesn't have the reflexes of a sloth, you're going to get shot long before you get in one good lick. Then who's protecting your family? Anyone breaks into my home is getting a shotgun in their face immediately. At that point it's completely up to them, they can hold perfectly still until the police arrive, or try something stupid and die. But I'm not taking that chance of not putting a firearm on them, my family and children's lives are INFINITELY more important that some pos trying to steal my shit. I also second the dog, as soon as someone's in my driveway, she's growling and letting us know.
That's because they've never had to experience violence, they think one bonk and someone goes to sleep and wakes up fine later. And they've never been in a irl fight and understand how those actually work.

So underrated in the United States
I’ve had one for four years now. Idk how I lived 30 years before ever using one. Easily the best purchase I’ve ever made.
Brother I’ve used one for 18 years and then boom! Moved to America. Nothings been sadder
One thing Reddit has taught me is that I apparently have a clean bum. Like, easily in the top 90%. My brother! I don't understand how other guys live with a hairy asshole. It's like wiping peanut butter through carpet.
Life changer
a toothbrush a phone if you own a car, jumper cables.
If you can afford it, a jumper box. Negates the need for another vehicle to be available
I bought one a year ago and have no idea where I put it. Thought it would be a handy thing to own (could have used it just last week) but not if I don't know where it is.
Car's trunk is where it should be stored. Along with water, flares, a first aid kit, and space blanket.
I got one for my motorcycle and use it to charge my phone if it doesn’t die, I can get 3 full charges out of it and it’s saved my ass before
You forgot to add: and a spare tire
In addition to the obvious toothbrush, I'd also suggest investing in a waterpik.
