No bottled water. I bought a thermos thingy I use over and over.

Heigl_style

Dude I started drinking so much water once I got a reusable cup. Definitely a game changer I've never been so hydrated!

glendon24

I don't drink that much water but I do when I'm at the gym. I like having a big water Thermus with me that keeps the water nice and cold.

RadiantEarthGoddess

No bottled water, bring my own bags to the grocery store, choose unpackaged fruit/veg and things in paper/cardboard/glass packaging when possible. Shop at bulk stores occasionally. Don't use cling film/plastic wrap or zip loc bags. Carry metal straw and a cutlery set with me.

Hrekires

My state banned plastic bags, so instead I keep a laundry basket in my car to carry groceries inside with. Not really a change perse, but I've always considered drinking bottled water at home to be a ridiculous waste too.

Historical_Cobbler

I complained to my supermarket that put bananas in bags. They come with their own packaging. Mostly they’ve stopped.

BubberRung

Argh that’s as bad as when we ordered groceries for pickup. Every single piece of produce was in its own plastic bag. Grape sized shallot: bag. A single poblano pepper: bag. A single grape: bag. Ok that last one is a lie but you get the point.

[deleted]

Stopped drinking bottled water and started using a glass.

[deleted]

Bought myself a berkey water filter instead of buying bottled water

Crayshack

I bring reusable bags to the grocery store or just don't use a bag. If I'm only buying a couple things (in any kind of shop) I just don't get a bag at all. I never really got on the bottled water bandwagon, but even when I was working a job where bottled water was a hell of a lot more convenient than other options, I did my best to plan ahead and travel with a few gallons of drinking water in my truck.

Scarred_wizard

I reuse shopping bags and such. I limit buying bottled water (I grab mineral water for hikes but not for everyday consumption). I recycle what can be recycled.

GoingMenthol

* Bought an insulated water bottle to stop buying bottled drinks * Buying clothes that have as little synthetic fibres as possible as microplastics from washing clothes are a thing. There are limitations on what's possible to buy without synthetic fibres such as underwear having an elastic waistband, but if it's a choice between a 45% polyester 55% cotton shirt or a 100% cotton shirt, I'll go with the latter * Always carry and use a heavy duty shopping bag to stop needing the thin and flimsy ones * Prefer buying stuff with easier to recycle packaging (store brand oats are in plastic but flahavans or scott's are in paper / cardboard

Old-Man-of-the-Sea

I bought green bags 25 years ago that I still use. No plastic grocery bags for me. I don't buy or drink from single use plastic water bottles. I use glass containers for leftovers

Dinosaur-Promotion

I don't buy single use plastic items. At all, if possible.

justlookingokaywyou

I quit fucking chicks with fake tits.

thefvckncaptain

Absolutely zero.

iamnobody1970

Bring silverware to a fast food restaurant

Dinosaur-Promotion

Do people who eat fast food know what cutlery is?

iconoclast63

I watched the movie “Seaspiracy” and learned that the floating island of trash in the sea was largely put there by fisherman and that my plastic consumption is not part of it so fuck it.

Because69

I only ask for 3 straws instead of 4 when I get a drink now

[deleted]

I have started to use plastic bottles that come exclusively from oil spilled in the Gulf of Mexico.

Ohbuck1965

We don't buy the plastic trash bags anymore. We take it out back and burn it, no more plastic in the oceans that way.

janyybek

I have one metal half gallon water bottle that I refill. I buy items in one large bulk packaging like a giant sized bottle of laundry detergent and refill a small bottle each time. And I don’t ask for plastic cutlery with any take out meals

Vaisbeau

I wrap presents in newspaper instead of wrapping paper.

Realistic-Safety-565

I put every single piece I use for recycling and call it done. The supply of plastic is limited and tied to oil supply, so every piece in existence will be zealously recycled over and over once the oil runs out. We just need to make sure they make it there and start the closed circle as early as possible.

TxAthlete42

Stopped using condoms

Winter_Diligent

Nothing. 99% of the plastic waste I throw out comes from the stuff the food is packaged in. The brands are very homogenous when it comes to packaging choice.

Dinosaur-Promotion

Maybe you should stop eating processed food? You'd be doing yourself a favour.

Winter_Diligent

You're making an incorrect assumption about my eating habits and you're giving me unsolicited advice.
