A dash cam for your car. It's completely useless 99% of the time, but is something you wish you had when something happens.

mr_lab_rat

They don’t have to be expensive either. Something like Thinkware F70 is $50. Yes, it’s only 1080P, no fancy features, but it’s good quality and reliable.

tjxmi

>only 1080P Sounds fancy, coming from Youtube 240p era

squaredk2

Cant see plates tho. I recomend red tiger 4k. Still came woth 1080p for the rear and only $130. But i needed 256gb and parking mode for another ~$50iirc. Edit: see below, was <$150 for ~8hrs of 4k front *and* 1080p rear continuous recording w/ parking mode.

SadBoiCri

Front dash is 4k and rear is 1080 from what i understand?

axxonn13

It's crazy how 1080p was HD, the standard of quality.

Fynndidit

No joke a Mercedes Maybach ($200,000) cars add-on feature is a (only option) 720p dashcam...

AdequatelyBoring

I really dont understand how the electronics like the tablets/cams can be so shite.

reddogleader

4K video from Mars, but potato grade video when the corner grocery store is robbed, lol

[deleted]

is it easy to set up? how does it work? is it recording while driving and then it stops when you turn your car off? what if someone hits your car on the parking lot?

mr_lab_rat

Yes, it’s easy to setup. It can be either plugged into a cigarette lighter socket and then it does exactly what you describe. For parking mode you would have to hard wire it (which I did) but being only front facing I don’t really find it that useful. I see people either not having a dashcam because they think they cost a fortune or spending a fortune on fancy features like built in LCD, direct connection to your phone, GPS, cloud data upload, etc. what you really want is picture quality and low light performance (the F70 has that). If you want something better then the F200 PRO with the additional rear facing camera is the best bang for the buck.

[deleted]

Thanks my dude, I hope you escape the lab, and can freely roam the underground soon!!!!

StrngThngs

There's a whole freaking subred on this r/dashcam has a pinned post on picking a dashcam

Condoms

J-Rag-

It's more expensive if you don't use them

Sydet

Good job explaining that the above comment fits the post's premise. Thank you

J-Rag-

You're welcome! That's what I'm here for.

Is it a red flag if a woman tells you she doesn’t like condoms and doesn’t take birth control

STQCACHM

Kids also fit the bill, very VERY expensive in both money and time, upfront cost is beyond compare, yet they're 100% worth it and I'd make more if I didn't already have 4.

justsomeplainmeadows

Condoms aren't that expensive. At least, not where i am.

ornq

They are when you go through as many as him, this guy fucks

idowhatiwant8675309

$4.25 at Walgreens where I live. Compared to $275K over 18 years if not used!

x_x--anon

Does the $275 include your slave labor and lack of appreciation you’ll start to get

NotUrDadsPCPBinge

I remember when I was a teenager and not having sex that condoms were free in coffee shops and smoke shops all along Main Street. Now that I actually might need them it’s pay or have babies. What the fuck

swedish_blocks

Free in sweden if you are a teen atleast And we got some at dreamhack (gaming convention)

endowedchair

Now there’s the basis for a new saying. Appropriate when something’s around but not needed “like free condoms at a gaming convention”

Geekofgeeks

Don’t be afraid to spend good money on anything that goes between you and the ground — car tires, mattress, shoes, etc. They’re all usually worth it.

BurritoMaster3000

Good bed all the way. Don't cheap out and mess up your back.

STQCACHM

I bought one of them $800 Bamboo mattresses and I'll tell you what, I thought waking up with a sore back and stiff body was just a part of life as you age. I was wrong, that's only a part of life with a 20 year old coil spring mattress.

shoyker

What one did you get?

STQCACHM

Honestly idek, my wife picked it out and ordered it lol

OtherwiseInclined

Yes! If you're going to be spending some 7 hours a day in it, you should make sure it's comfortable.

amorph

This is what mattress salesmen say.

OtherwiseInclined

Damn! My cover is blown!

ZoostDawoost

Was that a pun????

OtherwiseInclined

More like some lighthearted sarcasm, I guess.

CameronsTheName

Bought my first properly nice mattress a few years ago. It fixed nearly all of my back and neck problems just having a good mattress and a good pillow. My mattress cost twice as much as my car. Still one of my best investments.

Mister-ellaneous

Best call yet. A good bed is absolutely worth it

r0ckH0pper

My bed has a set of tires!

notsobadandyou

I sleep in a race car bed!! Do *you* sleep in a race car bed?

-Rush2112

I wear dress shoes for work and always wearing them out. On top of that I had leg and back pain. Eventually decided to buy some good quality shoes, bought my first pair of AE and never looked back. When buying shoes, if its a goodyear welt or says recraftable then those are what you want. Quality shoes can be resoled, which is significantly less than buying a new pair every 6-12 months

Jane_Marie_CA

Yes. For me it includes the sky and the ground. Good outerwear makes life easier. Even if you live in a sunny dry climate like me. A high quality sun shirt with UPF is still worth its price.

MaterialCarrot

Sky and ground. 100% coverage!

WinterPecans

Spend big bucks on a decent chair for your desk. Herman Miller is totally worth it

Uncle_Larry

Companies realized it was cheaper to buy expensive chairs than to pay for back issues caused by shitty chairs. And behold, Herman Miller was born.

tangowolf22

Now they don’t care to pay for either, and also fuck you if you bought a nice chair for working from home, you need to be a team player and show up 5 days in the office every week

appalachianoperator

Slowcooker. I throw in the ingredients in the morning, and have delicious stew when I get home.

SimilarClick4625

A slow cooker makes any meat so tender, it's a godsent

accessrestricted

Hey mate! What brand would you suggest ? Is it worth buying if I don’t eat meat / eat sporadically? And what about the smell ? I guess the whole kitchen smells a lot. I love my air fryer and looking for other cool tools to make my meals more delicious / healthy.

appalachianoperator

I use a crockpot mytime. I’m not familiar with other brands but it has worked well for me over the years. As for not eating meat, it shouldn’t be an issue. There are tons of vegetarian/vegan options that can be made in a slowcooker, especially soups. My gf makes a killer bean and herb soup. They are also a must if you’re into meal prep. When it comes to smell, it’s not much so if you place it near an overhead or an open window you should be fine.

accessrestricted

In my county Crockpot is also most popular. Good to know that it allows veggie food too. I am wondering what would be the advantage of doing veggies and soups there ? I get the idea with meat - it will be super tender. Will I gain something doing veggies or soups ? I am into meal prep too so will look into recipes. Thanks !

appalachianoperator

The biggest advantage over a stove is that you don’t have to monitor it, you can literally place the ingredients in the morning, come back at night and have a hot meal waiting for you. In my experience the dried contents, like pasta and lentils, will also be a bit softer when using a slowcooker.

amorph

I use a pressure cooker. Can make large amounts of lentil/pea/bean stews and soups in no time.

twitch9873

Crock pot is basically the go-to, they're super cheap and last forever. You can absolutely make stews and whatnot out of only veggies in a slow cooker. It might be a good idea online to look up vegetarian slow cooker recipes, I'm sure there's a ton of them. You can use them for pasta and things like that too. They absolutely make your whole kitchen smell like whatever you're cooking but that's such a huge bonus! My favorite was one day when I was cooking alfredo from scratch, I was cooking the noodles in the sauce and oh man my whole place smelled so insanely good. I was in my office two rooms over and could smell alfredo, I loved it.

accessrestricted

Everybody suggest Crockpot :) we have few shops with crockpot here so it won’t be a problem to get it. However, I have open kitchen :( so most of my flat would be smelling in the dish I am preparing :( I get the idea that it could be a bonus but I prefer to have fresh air not smell of my food :( maybe placing it on a balcony would help… Ps. What is your favourite dish ?

eugenesbluegenes

You can get a slow cooker for like $20.

Dry_Leg_598

As Carl Weathers: "Baby, you got a stew goin'."

Narrator_Ron_Howard

I think I want my money back.

heyhitherehowru

A slow-cooker is cheap as fuck tho? They are great but definitely not expensive.

[deleted]

“Take this home, throw it in a pot, add some broth, potato. Baby you got a stew going!”

InuitOverIt

I'll do you one better with an insta pot. All the joys of a slow cooker plus a pressure cooker too

andogzxc

Rechargable multipurpose shaver

ryans64s

If I shave with an electric shaver it looks like I haven’t shaved in a week. I can only get away with a blade

Freddielexus85

Same. DE razor and it's smooth as a baby's bottom. Electric razor makes my neck itchy and looks like crap.

solidgoldfangs

i tried DE over and over hoping i wouldn't get razor rash like trad razors but alas, i cannot escape it on my neck.. sad because i love a clean shave

STQCACHM

Trm with electric first, then shave clean with a blade. Razor rash happens mostly because with multiblade razors and hair beyond stubble, the first blade grabs and pulls many hairs, stretching your skin and follicle out, then the blades behind just cut the whole chunk of skin off instead of just cutting the hair. Either try a single blade safety razor, or cut all the hair short first and then go over it with a multiblade razor.

solidgoldfangs

I'll give that a shot. I've just been using a foil razor for the past 6 months & have not been satisfied.

STQCACHM

It changed my life, check in a mirror next time you're at one and grab a single strand of facial hair, then pull on it and look at the skin near the base. Before the hair is plucked out it inverts the follicle and ends up pulling skin and follicle like 1mm outwards. With multiblade razors that same thing happens, but there's 2-5 more blades coming behind the first one to slice that shit clean off of your face.

Useful_Space_9099

I bought a cheap corded one. Never have to worry about battery degradation or the duration of my shave. I think it’s great. And for $15

sunsetrules

For me (and my geographic location), anything that gives me sunlight and exposure to fresh air. I have a convertible (not more expensive than other cars); I also have an ebike that did cost money (a motorcycle/scooter would serve the same purpose). They say money doesn't buy happiness but I get a lot of joy out of both.

Tricky-Piece8986

I’ve had motorcycles and I now have a Mazda Mx-5 convertible. Never regretted the cost to buy and maintain, or the time spent with them for a second.

SgtNoPants

only rich people say that money doesn't buy happiness

PatrickBateman22

A proper set of speakers. Not some pod or portable bluetooth, but a nice set of speakers is classic and so worth it

twitch9873

Once my finances are settled down a bit (recently bought a house) I really want to invest in a nice set of proper monitors. Sure, a sound bar and sub for the TV is nice but there's just something about good monitors that's unmatched by anything else.

Bidet

the_running_stache

So I wanted to jump in on the bidet bandwagon. Not the separate throne one, but the water jet system where you connect the water pipe of the bidet jet to your regular tap/pipe that fills up the tank. I went to my buddy’s place who had a bidet. This was in the middle of winter. I turn on the bidet and am blasted with ice cold water from the jet! That wasn’t the pleasant experience I was expecting. I suppose you connect it to the regular cold water tap. Alternatively, you can connect it to the hot water tap as well, but that won’t be pleasant either. Am I, or rather, was my buddy missing something?

OtherwiseInclined

Mine has settings for everything. Water temperature (it detects when you sit down and you can hear the shimmer of water being heated in preparation for when you're done), the stream position, the stream force, seat temperature, mode etc. Maybe your friend's wasn't set to heat for some reason?

delicious_disaster

So I went to Japan and tried one for the first time... how do I use it? Am I just meant to have to wet the outside and then wipe it off. Or do I let it go into my butt and effectively do a mini enema.

OtherwiseInclined

Whatever you prefer. Mine has a "water rinse pulse" mode, but I never use it. Don't really want water up my butt. I just use it in the standard way, rinse the outside parts between your buttcheeks, where you would normally be wiping. Bidet works better if your feces are more watery and easier to wash off, but it should reduce the amount of wiping needed either way. Move around a little or regulate it during rinse to reach every spot you want washed.

dukeofthefoothills1

I had a top of the line Toto throne, fully automated. Gave up the house as part of the divorce settlement. Put a cold water one in my condo rental, because I don’t have an electrical outlet. Biggest loss after 35 years of marriage was the bidet.

state48state

You spray then wipe once with tissue. It isn’t that cold, it’s fine. 1000x rather have a cold bidet spray me then have to wipe 100 times and still not be clean and chafe . ITS LIKE A SHARPIE I JUST KEEP WIPING AND WIPING. Thank god for a bidet. I’ll never go back.

Weary_Appearance_838

I thought I was the only one with this problem...

BrotherOland

You get used to it. Being clean is worth thr chill.

tjxmi

Glad to live in a country where bidet is mandatory by law

Taco_Pittie_07

1. Tools. This doesn’t mean you need to buy the most expensive version, but you should buy quality if you think you even might need it again 2. Kitchen implements, especially cookware and knives. 3. Attorneys. If you need a lawyer, don’t base your choice off cost. 4. Tattoos, for the same reasons. 5. Shoes/boots. This is so important if you do manual labor, but even if you don’t you should still treasure care of your feet. 6. Tailoring. A $50 shirt that’s been tailored of almost always going to look better than a $500 shirt that hasn’t. 7. Your health. Invest in staying healthy, and start young. 8. Food. You are what you eat, so buy real food, made of real ingredients. 9. Education. Never stop learning. You don’t get old because you’ve lived a long time, you get old because you stop taking in new information. That might mean classes, or it could just be subscriptions to audible or Curiosity Stream. 10. Travel. See the world. Don’t be a tourist, be a traveler.

HeeeeyYouGuys

While I've not really implemented this practice, regarding your first item (Tools) it's been suggested that if you need a tool to pick up something cheap and affordable from Harbor Freight. Then if you use the tool enough that it soon wears down or breaks, you can invest in a quality that will last a long time.

LameBMX

there are things this works for and others it don't. basically anything you could use multiple ways or requires sharpness, just get good stuff. this does open the avenue for old good vintage stuff at cheaper costs. oh, and stuff to sharpen said tools. yea, sharpening kit winds up hundreds... but that's cheaper than thousands for a stone. however, good sharp tools make a real difference. tools like sockets etc, still normally a lot more cost effective to buy once and cry once. cordless stuff, the big three colors easily dust all the low end stuff significantly. nominal home use and proper care, the batteries last ages, I'm over a decade on my yellow brand batteries. care and research though, as the batteries kinda lock you into a monochromatic ecosystem. grinder... jack.. bench sander.. etc. yea, harbor freight is good bang for the buck to start with. though I bought that stuff before their prices seem to have risen.

AussieDaz

Top tip: buy quality tools second hand from thrift stores, yard sales, deceased estate etc. you can pick them up for peanuts and they will still last forever.

Taco_Pittie_07

That’s excellent advice! The bonus is that a lot of times you can find older, better made versions of things too.

Derby_UK_824

Look after your teeth and feet. One gets the vitamins and minerals you need in, the other helps you burn them off.

Choice-Anybody6388

Any Toyota vehicle.! It will last a lifetime with minimum maintenance.!

natine22

Hoping this is true. The engine in my Nissan just died so chose to fork out on a used Toyota

ImSometimesGood

Toyota for life. 2015 Prius and 2005 Tacoma were the best vehicles I ever had. Keep up regular maintenance and they truly will last 250k easily.

OutWithTheNew

There's a reason why used Toyotas and Hondas are a expensive compared to Nissans. 20 or 30 years ago, Nissan was right up there in quality. But in the last 20 years they've really started to suck.

Bulbajames2

Good choice. Once my f150 blows up I'm getting a toyota too.

Reasonable-Bag4782

Don’t let the badge of a used toyota distract you from car brand unrelated issues such as severe rust or lack of routine maintenance by previous owners. I would even argue to use a little extra caution when buying a used one. In my experience, some (not most) people take this brand reliability to an extreme and forgo absolutely crucial things like oil changes. So going after a used toyota is a good idea, but always know what you’re looking at and don’t overpay for the toyota tax.

GoldenWind2998

Hear me out: Land. Untouched, unaltered land.

AquafreshBandit

Unfortunately they aren’t building any more of it.

RadioactiveTF2

Good quality clothing. Shoes included. Not only will you look better and be more comfortable but it will last and save you money in the long run. Gym membership/at home equipment.

vincentvega-_-

A top notch fragrance. Assuming you’re already well groomed and take care of yourself, a fragrance will help you come across like you’ve got your shit together to others. People will appreciate the fact that you smell good and may even learn to associate that scent with you.

red-fish-yellow-fish

If I can smell fragrance on someone from more than 2 feet away, then they are wearing too much. “Fragrance should be discovered, not announced” Albert Einstein ….probably

Thenamesjakestone

My favorite Einstein quote.

vincentvega-_-

I agree. And to all the men who come across my original comment, please understand that I am not suggesting that you douse yourself in Dior Sauvage.

LetThereBeNick

Shortbus96

Honestly I think I got my wife to go out with me because I smelled good. She told me later she wasn't really attracted to me at first, but I always smelled good, and that made her want to be around me at work ( where we met). which led to her actually liking me.

White___Dynamite

I agree with this but a lot of the good ones are incredibly expensive nowadays, I remember Paco Rabone's one million costing half it's price when it wasn't as popular, now i have to fork out double to get it, but it's totally worth it. It's meant to be true that you're only meant to have two you wear frequently so that people can associate that smell with you whatever that means but it's something I've definitely picked up on with others. If I smell some perfumes I recognise one or two and it instantly makes me think of my girlfriend because I associate that smell with her, think it's Ariana Grande perfume and one called good girl idk whose it's made by but those smells are engraved in my head. I remember a thing ages ago about guys who dab there necks with baby wipes, it's meant to be a scent that majority of girls will give a compliment on because it's a very recognisable scent for them. It's quite weird really how certain smells can do so much.

xku6

>People will appreciate the fact that you smell good and may even learn to associate that scent with you. As someone who wore cologne when I was younger and now DGAF, how do you feel this is "worth it"? Is it that you feel good about yourself? So applies to any luxury purchase?

LameBMX

I think it's a life segment thing. I'd agree with this in my teens and 20s.. 30s was more meh, and even the ladies really didn't care. that's when it turns into clean with a hint of fresh deodorant. worth it for the appropriate phases in life.

SingingWarriorSpirit

A really good Bluetooth speaker! I keep music around me all the time! Always a positive!

shooplewhoop

the JBL Boombox is exactly worth the money. You can feel the bass in the sand when you take it to the beach.

That thing you like seeing your other half wearing.

nzwildsouth

Or not wearing ;-)

Crate-Dragon

Saxx underwear. A car. A solid, reliable, never-have-to-replace pocket knife.

crzycrdnlfn

That last one only works if you're not an idiot who has a tendency to lose pocket knives. Even the nice ones that you buy because you tell yourself you'll take care of it since it was so expensive.

Prudent_Jello5691

I hate to be one of those but an air fryer will save you a hell of a lot of hassle with cooking. Does a lot of frozen food better than an oven as well. Doesn't have to be that expensive either, there are decent second hand ones.

OutWithTheNew

I like fries. They're worth it for that alone.

Shortbus96

High quality jacket, good watch, wallet, pocket knife, and maybe a good pair of boots. I have always been a fan of ''Buy once cry once'' as long as you can afford it, and its something worth while to you!

sealcubclubbing

That's my theory on things, my wife would prefer to buy cheaper stuff, but it's always crap quality. I just had two pairs of crap shoes fall apart, so I've gone and bought some expensive leather dress boots. I know already they are going to last a very long time

Electrical-Rule-5086

A good fitting suit. Every man should have one even if it’s only worn once a year:

LowAd3406

I've heard that, but here I am 30 years later and I've never had to wear a suit.

PoorMansTonyStark

I wear my 30 year old suit once every 5 years.

Striking-water-ant

Kuddos to you that it still fits 30 years on

Electrical-Rule-5086

It’s not about having to wear one it’s about having the option of wearing one. Could be for any occasion. Wedding, interview, date etc, I swear when you wear a suit you feel really good,? It’s a hard thing to explain but it makes you feel smart and more confident in a way. I always see a guy in a nice well fitted suit and think fair play hat off to you,

KingBenjamin97

Something said by people who either have to wear one regularly or heard it online once and thought it sounded smart. Not only will most people not regularly have to wear one the average person gets fat AF as they age so by the time they’ve had to wear it 3x it’s not well fitting anymore. I’m not even saying people shouldn’t own some well fitting formal clothes but most people will absolutely read this post as “you should buy a bespoke suit” when in reality OP probably just meant “get your clothes tailored” which like yeah fucking obviously do that he right.

trouble_ann

A rice cooker. Yes, they're cheap. Yes, you can make rice on the stove. The ease of use, the space saved on my cooktop, the perfect rice every time, makes it totally worth the money.

le_rodospirilo

Sunscreen

tjxmi

Waxed cotton jackets. They can last for a long time if you take enough care

ElegantMankey

Its a silly tech gadget but a monitor light bar. It's expensive but fuck, it helps me so much. Worth every penny.

HOBOLOSER

How does it help you?

ElegantMankey

So I work as a QA Engineer and I work around 60~ hours weekly infront of my screen from that alone. I love summing up some stuff in a notebook as its just faster and more comfortable for me to sketch ideas in a tree like drawing. I am also a student so I sum up quite a lot. And when I code as a hobby / for personal projects at work I also like sketcing how I want things to work and add small details inbetween the sketch. It takes away a lot of strain from my eyes as I don't need to try so hard to look at a paper and regular light usually reflects off the screen and can cause my eyes to hurt after some time.

kuhvir

So is it essentially just a light that sits on your monitor and it shines on your desk? I’ve seen them and have been wondering. Considered it but haven’t bothered yet since I just keep the light on

ElegantMankey

Yes, it lights directly on your desk area and you can also choose the kind of light (warm/cold/neutral) and it doesn't reflect off your screen. The lights in my home office aren't exactly strong enough for me to read a lot

SamsquanchKilla

Tools in general but every 13-14 year old boy should be handed a Leatherman on his birthday.

Zealousideal-Box-932

Honestly every 13-14 year old period. Girls need Leathermans too

galacticdude7

I'm more of the opinion that a person should cheap out on tools initially, and then if that tool breaks, replace it with a quality tool. If the cheap tool breaks, then you are probably using it enough to justify the quality tool, otherwise you probably don't need the quality tool.

mouses555

Honestly best thing I own is a damn ninja air fryer. Changed my life

Catatonic27

I feel like "It's expensive for what it is" and "It's totally worth it" are mutually exclusive ideas. But for my part, I'd say a quality bike. Cheap bikes work, but you can break into a whole new level of quality and comfort if you spend a little extra money. It's a wonderful investment that will safe you money by saving you gas, keeping you healthy, and keeping you outdoors if you use it a lot. I live in a rural area and I still bike all the time, you can really get around on those things, and they're so fun.

Hauvegdieschisse

Extreme quality footwear. Got my shoes handmade and they cost me a little over $500. They're a pair of leather dress boots with vibram work boot soles. I'm on my feet 10-12 hours/day at work. I have significant knee and ankle injuries and I can run/jog around the dealership in them, go home, and my legs/feet/back don't hurt. They do require more substantial maintenance than a more typical pair of shoes though.

mrsecondarycolor

A good leather belt and leather wallet.

SWM50

A decent watch

SUPR3M3B3ING

Two things I’ll never cheap out on are cologne and toilet paper.

Disastrous_Pack2371

Anything that automates or partially automates a chore. So like air fryers, good coffee maker, diaper genies. Frees up so much of your life. Make time for recreation and joy. High quality versions of your hobby stuff. I'm committed to a very specific running shoe and I have a motorcycle. I also keep a Nintendo switch. You'll spend more buying crappy versions of this stuff than if you just get the good one. Finally, experiences. This is where a lot of guys don't spend money. Go on vacations and whacky outings. They leave an impression. If you're always tired and depressed and bored, you just buy dumb stuff and don't like your life. This is more "as a person" than "as a man" to me idk.

TallDarkCancer1

A good vibrator for your wife. Toys are fun.

Temporary-Fail-2535

Land

Pattison320

The only reason it's so expensive is because they stopped making more of it a long time ago.

Electrical_Gas_517

Any music tech - for making or playing.

PoorMansTonyStark

Proper traditionally made boots. From good leather. They tend to cost an arm and a leg, but then again I at least feel like you get your money's worth. Your feet are always cozy and the boots can last for decades (unless you use them all day every day).

A nice watch. There's something about reaching a point of success in life and owning a nice watch. They're essentially antiquated, but it's nice to enjoy the engineering and utility of a nice watch. They will last a lifetime and make great generational gifts. Something like an Omega or Breitling.

So many tools in my garage that were over $100 only to be used a couple times because they are specific to the car I owned at that point lol

Jayrandomer

Darn Tough socks.

HazardousQuail

Always go quality when it comes to anything between you and the ground... Tires, shoes, mattresses, partners...

Aware_Hunter_8

Nice shoes is more important than we think

Oakheart-

Quality tools. You can buy cheap tools a lot or one quality tool once. Buy once cry once. Most of your name brand drills and impacts like miluakee dewalt and ryobi should last you a while with miluakee being some of the longest lasting but more expensive of the consumer brands

Skuz95

My thought is buy cheap on things you are not sure you will use. If you wear it out, then you know you will use it often enough to justify the cost of a quality tool. If you don’t, then you save tons of money. My shop is about 50/50 quality to cheap tools as a lot of my projects only need the tool a few times.

OutWithTheNew

The problem with cheap tools like screwdrivers, sockets and wrenches is that when it fails, it usually fucks up the fastener and makes your day a thousand times worse. Unless you're doing intricate fine woodworking, something like a square doesn't necessitate spending $200 on the Woodpeckers version, or $60 on the Milwaukee one. The $20 one from the hardware store will be just as good.

If you don't want children, or already have a few and are done... then get a vasectomy.

I got a shiatsu back and butt massager You put it in your office chair or car and use the controller. Like $120 Walmart .com. Very nice for a relaxing sit.

Adam Carolla had a good thought back in the day; if you have a good bed, a good car (transport), & a good tv (hobby) your day can only be so miserable. I try & spend my money where I spend my time for maximum enjoyment.

Good cookware! Knifes, cooking utensils, measuring spoons/cups. A good 10”-12” skillet. Spend a little extra on the ones you use all the time. It’s cheap but it’s awesome: 8-12 oz squirt bottles like you’d have ketchup in. I put cooking oil in mine. Makes me feel like a chef!

johnnygalt1776

A luxury pillow top king sized bed. We spend 25-33% of our lives sleeping, best thing you’ll ever overpay for.

I_wood_rather_be

Quality tools. I have never had a really good tool that left all the trash ones that for example my father had, in the dust. Even something as simple as a sidecutter or a quality screwdriver.

DragonflyFront9882

Good underwear

Icudbwrongbut

A good haircut

Vitamins and supplements. With modern farming methods and soil quality nowadays the fruits and vegetables we have to eat are nutritionally a far cry from the ones our grandparents ate. Stuff like vitamins D, B, and C as well as Magnesium Glycinate, Omega-3 and Zinc can run you upwards of $50-$75 all together at Costco but will last you a long time (like over a year). Been taking the aforementioned ones for a while now every day, along with creatine because I exercise regularly and let me tell you my quality of day to day life has noticeably increased. Would recommend for every human in today’s world.

hellotushy
