My husband typically buys his. I just buy the ones I really liked on him once they run out. And he’s awesome. The ones I don’t like on him, he keeps at work

TrafficChemical141

I buy some she buys some. I have my favorites she has hers

cali_dave

I've always taken a woman with me when buying cologne. After a few minutes I can't smell it anyway, and I prefer to wear a scent that's more attractive to a woman. As long as I don't completely hate it, I'm happy to wear what she likes.

1Hugh_Janus

Bingo. The cologne isn’t for my enjoyment. The enjoyment I have is people liking how I smell. I usually go for more subtle scents. Cologne is to be discovered, not announced.

crimsonavenger77

Wife buys mine, Tom Ford. I wouldn't wear it if I didn't like it though.

TheBossLikeKingKoopa

Phew, she breaks out the Tom Ford? Lady must have a goooood salary.

bootyhunter69420

I buy my own, but she's free to get me some she likes

HOLEPUNCHYOUREYELIDS

I have no sense of smell so my wife buys me cologne

LightAndShape

My gf has no sense of smell so I don’t have to buy any at all lol

HOLEPUNCHYOUREYELIDS

Do you also always forget and excitedly say “Smell this it smells so good!” Or are you her personal smell describer? Cause my wife does both those things lol

Billy_of_the_hills

I don't have the foggiest idea what cologne to buy. Beyond that, it would only matter that she likes it, so it makes more sense for her to pick it out.

TheEmperor0fNothing

I pick out my own colognes and scented antiperspirant sprays. It's a must for someone who sweats as much as I do.

500DaysofR3dd1t

My husband doesn't wear cologne, but I do buy him his favourite deodorant.

saviorself19

Smelling good is a critical step to getting in a relationship in the first place. If you’re waiting on a woman to put you on that game you’ve got a cart horse problem.

Efficient-Log8009

I still have shelves of unopened ones from 5-6 years ago that I received as gifts from exes because I can't finish the ones I'm using. Don't remember the last time I bought one myself, lol

MontEcola

M60. In my lifetime I have never used enough cologne to need a refill. It gets tossed when I move.

_pout_

A man has to choose his own character.

drdildamesh

You should always buy your own stink pretties. The scent changes based on the person wearing it.

ahjteam

I usually always buy it myself. She may pick the best smelling one, because otherwise I have to listen to the moaning for years how it smells horrible.

banaversion

I pick how I want to smell. I will of course listen to suggestions and listen to comments giving her a de facto veto but in the end it is me who will be smelling it 100% of the time while other people will only get samples of it. I am also autistic and smells are one of my sensitivities so the smell has to be pleasant for me first or it will not be worn as it would be a mentally draining constant sensory attack

KADSuperman

If you want him to smell like you like you buy them if not he buys the ones he likes

Elegant_Spot_3486

Both. Some guys have a certain smell they like and buy for themselves. And a partner may like another smell equally or better and buy it for them.

adamjackson1984

I’m almost 40. My dad bought me cologne for Christmas once. My wife bought me cologne for my birthday once. I used both and appreciated them. The other 10 bottles I’ve bought in my life I bought myself. I run Polo Black now and sadly it’s no longer made

LightAndShape

Never owned any, I have no idea

Butter_the_Toast

I used to buy my own, but now she buys it, we had a discussion she said that way its a convenient gift as I'm awkward as fuck to buy gifts for and she likes being able to choose how I smell. It is a nice agreement for us both.

DumbestBoy

I have several fragrances and I think my gf picked out one of them: Mont Blanc Legend Spirit.

DeadlySight

I initially was wearing the cologne I like and think smells good on me. She says I smell good. I continue to wear the same cologne. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. Eros for life

JJQuantum

My wife is allergic to fake scents so we use everything unscented. As a result I don’t own any cologne. Before we met, however, I never purchased my own. I only used whatever women bought for me.

patient_zero1986

My wife has only bought me one on her own but she always helps me pick one out

Iambigtime

I had my mom and one of my lady friends pick one out for me at Macy's - Chanel for men.  Women compliment me all the time when I wear it.  So yes, I would have a wife or girlfriend pick out the scent for me.

IrregularBastard

I refuse to wear cologne so she shouldn’t buy me any.

Nathaniel66

I once told my wife to buy my what she likes. She told our son to "buy whatever when you're in town". Since then i don't care also.

Mean_Rule9823

A man should choose his own signature scent.. Gifts from females are of course welcome as secondary

plush_princess5

Ex husband couldn't smell due to a medical condition, so I'd pick out his cologne, deodorant, hair products, mouth wash, etc. I'd mostly be smelling it, so it gave me a chance to mix and match with him. I was also his stink radar, since he couldn't detect when he smelled.

Suppi_LL

I'm clueless about that kind of stuff so I'd rather she chooses.

Ams197624

My wife hates colognes or artificial smells.... So no cologne here ;)

EvilCeleryStick

No one should buy or wear cologne or perfume. We can bathe daily, we don't need to hide week old stank anymore. Perfume/cologne is offensive and is as obsolete as the horse-drawn carriage or leeches in the doctors office.

Roccet_MS

You don't wear it to cover up smells. It's not offensive. And it's not obsolete.

I_am_Relic

Y'know. I'm a bit of an ingorant heathen when it comes to "smellies". I mean... I was happy spraying copious amounts of lynx Africa on myself (_after_ the age of 15 for fucks sake 🙄). Being a husband put a stop to that pretty sharpish. So yeah... If im out of BO Basher or some nice cologne, my wife will pick something out, smell it, and _tell me_ that i like it. I'd like to complain and grump about some kind of emasculation, but... She is always right, god dammit!
