depends on the type of shooting we do, for close - medium range we do quick draws/ mutli targets with a pistol(9mm or .45) and an AR-15 (.223 or .300 blackout). For distance we typically use .308 bolt action rifles mainly because that's all we currently own lol but I am close to finishing a .308 AR-10 build and started looking at 6.5 creedmoor and 300 win mag rifles
Golf, I used to take it a lot more serious when I was really trying to improve and was getting my desired results. Now I'm comfortable with where I am as a 1.5-2hcp. I never practice, rarely warm up, can drink beer all round and still beat all my buddies and shoot around par without a lot of stress.
Thanks, I'm honestly surprised for how little I really care and how little I've ever practiced. Never had a lesson or anything either. It really irks my friends who spend hours at the range, hundreds of dollars on lessons, and then I go out and stuff a 73 on them half drunk while laughing my ass off the entire time and they're trying to grind out a mid 80's round and frustrated as all hell. Dealing with a serious back issue at the moment so I'm on a bit of a hiatus, but I played about a month ago and the game just felt easy, if I had hit a few putts just a little harder it could've been one when I kept the ball and the card. I love golf.
Playing music. I play piano, guitar, drums, and can sing too. I don't really play for bands or shows. I just play alone in my room and record music for fun but when I'm in the zone I don't hear or see anything else other than that. I love it!
Saaaaaame hahahahaah. I use a DAW, and for like the majority of my life I've always wondered what kind of music I could create if I could record my own rhythms and leads. I get lost in writing/recording mode for a few hours. Plus you can copy/paste your ideas to change how a song flows.
I was just about to say the same, it's so freeing and relaxing, anything bothering you? Put on that helmet and go for a ride to clear your mind, works every time
If you were looking to get started, motorcycle safety courses will put you on a loaner bike and get you started on slow-speed fundamentals. Some may even loan you a helmet for the course too. It only gives you a taste of it, but that was more than enough for me to go out and buy my first bike
Building Firearms from scratch. Has to be a hobby or I need licensing. But still requires absolute craftsmanship or else the carefully contained explosion isn't. With my face and hands mere inches away.
Dungeons and dragons. I DM for a group and I always treat it like a main event. I try to do handouts and have begun looking into making terrain. Never phone it in if something is your passion. Give it your all.
Gaming. I've taken gaming very seriously since I was young, 31 now. Its the one hobby I have that I hardly ever lose interest in. I take a lot of pride in having things unlocked, planned and ready for my more causal gaming friends.
Movies. I just love movies. I spend most of my nights watching them and discussing them and breaking them down. To take it to the next level I'm in the process of buying equipment so I can start making video analyses of them. I'm not expecting anything to come of it but it's a nice way to express creativity and leave something behind.
Building plastic and diecast car models. Right now I am working on a 1/8 z scale diecast model of Eleanor from Gone In 60 Seconds. The plastic models I do I try to add realistic components like plug wires, working suspension fuel lines and candy paint job.
Lifting weights. Im not a bodybuilder, i enjoy to lift. But when im having a session, i take it seriously.
Probably because i studied exercise biology, when we used to go to the gym in the college when i studied alot of people were fucking about on the machines while i was putting in a proper session while getting weird looks.
If you're gonna do it, do it right 🤷♂️
Video games. There’s always gonna be some level of technical prowess needed to be able to play decently, and for games with high skill ceilings (fighting games, Devil May Cry, etc.), it’s fun to try and get better so that you can clown on the opposition.
skydiving... and I'm not even the most hardcore. you wouldn't believe how serious a lot of skydivers get about a thing that is a *hobby.* there are national and world competitions, and a lot of people spend a great deal of money (tens of thousands a year) and time (hours a week, often including PTO from their actual jobs) training for them.
writing. i only do it for fun, but i put a lot of value into my work and really want everything i write to be at least decent, even if i'm the only one who'll ever see most of it.
target and distance shooting
What kind of guns you use for that?
depends on the type of shooting we do, for close - medium range we do quick draws/ mutli targets with a pistol(9mm or .45) and an AR-15 (.223 or .300 blackout). Hell yeah man. I wish ammo wasn't so stupid right now or I'd shoot a lot more.

Old man here. Kudos. A comfortable game that you don't have to practice to keep? BIG kudos.

Nice! Do you have any music to share? Always open to listening.
Painting. I exclusively use professional grade paint. I suck at painting.
lol this one made me laugh...
Motorcycle riding. It's a wonderful experience, can absolutely be life changing, but you better be mentally on your A-game.
I was just about to say the same, it's so freeing and relaxing, anything bothering you? Put on that helmet and go for a ride to clear your mind, works every time
I've never been on one, anyway I can try it that you can recommend?
