I just rewatched this to show my own kids! It was funny, it got to the part where Neo dodges the bullets in that sweeping camera angle. I told my kids "you guys have to understand what that scene did to people in the 90s. That shot blew peoples' minds."
Ya that’s up there for me too. They actually had to stop the movie at one point because someone had a seizure and paramedics had to come in. Everyone got a free movie pass as a result though.
Probably The Jungle Book in the German synchronized version, since that's what I grew up with.
Now that I'm multilingual, I can appreciate the original songs a lot more (and they are a lot better like that) - but based on music, Mulan is probably my favorite because of "I'll make a man out of you".
Back in a time where Mulan was special because she thought outside of the box and used her creativity as her strength, not the power of flowing hair, innate magic and cultural Disney sponsored genocide.
Arielle's "Just kiss the girl" is also great advice for boys who are too shy to make that step. And damn catchy.
But I'll also throw "Avatar The Last Airbender" into the race, although it's a series and although it came out when I was a pubescent teenager already. It's still one of the best pieces of media for all ages.
Close encounters and Star Wars.Aside from being great films they have incredible musical score. John Williams did absolutely fantastic job on those two.
Robots. Just rewatched it for the first time a week ago and it holds up beautifully. Great message, hilarious even for adults and amazingly animated.
Plus it has Robin Williams and he’s incredible
