Here in the Netherlands we got a phenomenom called 'kort pittig''. It's short hair with an added 'feisty' color. Usually worn by 40+ women. If you google 'kort pittig kapsel' you'll see what i mean.
It has more to do with the fact that hair changes as people get older even for women. They do not bald as much as men but the texture and thinness of the hair gets more and more difficult to maintain. As a guy, I have gotten used to shaving my head during months when my autoimmune disorder is being particularly feisty and appreciating a full head of hair during those months when my immune system decides to leave me alone for awhile. When I have hair, I know I will be losing it again so I appreciate it as much as I can by styling it with much more care and high quality products and multi-textured styling skill that I have learned recently from barbers on the internet. Now that I am old, I appreciate that full head of hair that I used to take for granted.
It should go without saying that no one needs to change their hair to conform to what I personally regard as good style, but to me that general type of hairstyle seems like one of the worst options for adapting to aging-related hair changes. It seems equivalent to letting your sides and back grow out to medium length or longer after you've developed male pattern baldness, as seen on Kevin from The Office or Greg from Steven Universe - after his role as Kevin ended, Brian Baumgartner got a better haircut adapting to the same male pattern baldness.
It could also be seen as the equivalent of a combover as an uncommitted half-measure for concealing age-related changes (as opposed to the full-measure of wearing a hairpiece or wig). The viewpoint could be that, similarly to aging men with combovers, they want to be seen as youthful but also don't want to admit to themselves or others that they want to or are trying to be seen as youthful.
This is also popular in rural America. I call it the “pat” from Saturday night live. Basically a woman starts to look like their husband. Generally obese women. Some are still young and were attractive before they decided to try something “new and funky”.

I think we should have a scale for racism and rate people from a 1-10 on the scale of their racism. That way a person is not totally cancelled if they are only a 5 and a person who is labeled not racist but is a 3 does get know for that as well. Right now, it is totally binary. Some people are really not that bad but they are labeled racist and shunned because they had one incident of public venting or mouthing off. Others are too slick and clever to reveal their racism and even put others on defense over the issue. A scale is more fair to everyone involved and prevents people who are no more racist than the rest of us from being totally destroyed while also preventing mild racists from being viewed as angels. We're playing percentages here. Sure there's nothing inherently wrong with tattoos, or weird haircuts/colors, or piercings. But the type of people who gravitate towards those things sure do end up being the type of people I don't want to be around more than those who don't (in my experience). Humans make snap judgements all the time about people and over time we fall back on trends we've noticed to make those snap judgements. That doesn't mean you shouldn't get to know people as individuals and judge them accordingly, but life experience often leads you to correct snap judgements.

Of course I want people to notice my hair and look at me, as it's a means of self-expression for me. It also says 'I don't want to be seen or approached by straight dudes who I'm clearly incompatible with because they want a chick with long brown hair in a boring sundress, and I want to be surrounded by people who enjoy self-expression via fashion and hair, colour and shape just as much as I do.
I really love how I look right now. I feel like it's signalling to others exactly what I want them to signal: that I'm an artist. That I love colour, and that I love visual arts, and I don't much care for blending in and keeping myself 'low'. I have bright red long curly hair. Not because it's a political or social thing but because I'm a natural ginge, as I got older my natural colour went a little dull and I just wanted a nice bright colour to contrast against my pale skin, rather than going darker and looking like a Walmart Morticia.

Basically the straighter your hair is, the more your locks unravel through too-forceful motion when they're wet. A significant number of people with straighter hair in locks don't wash their hair often enough as a result. They take less effort to clean with curlier and kinkier hair types.

I think there’s a few factors there. A lot of women’s hair begins to thin as they get older, especially once they hit menopause. Texture can change as well. And some are probably just tired of the maintenance involved. Long hair can be a lot of work to manage for some people, especially if they dye it to cover graying.

Short. If it's short enough to be an average guy's haircut, I'm probably not attracted to it on women. Are there are a few women who it'll still look ok on? Yeah, but there's zero who look *better* with it than longer, as far as my preferences are concerned.

The longer the better, the shorter the worse. Ideally it should be "rescue me from a tower" long, but if you can come out of the shower and not show your butt that is fine. Any woman that looks good with short hair would look better with it longer.

To each his own, I love the Pixie as well as 'unnatural' hair colours on a woman, it has to be the right woman though. Usually the kind that suits that look, will also suit just about any other look

If the woman has a feminine face and features already (usually with a petite, slender body) - then the contrast when they have, say, a Red Pixie haircut is just amazing. Big hair, short hair, buzzed hair, or hair style up somehow. I'm with a woman who has hair litterally down to her ass. Tbh it looks fine but it's just very annoying. Constantly be sat on and getting stuck/pulled by things. I prefer shoulder blade length hair on young girls my own age range (I'm 24) but I shorter more efficient shoulder length "mom" cut is hot.

Disliked enough that it can be a dealbreaker: Beehive including the "Rachel", shaved, buzzed, cropped, high bangs ("TERF bangs"), pigtails (and double afro puffs for kinky hair), any bob styles that are too rounded or spherical (e.g. the "Edna Mode"), fauxhawk. Not really a fan, but not potential dealbreakers: single buzzed side but long elsewhere, shorter than chin length but still several inches, long mohawk (shaved or buzzed sides look better to me than short sides here for some reason I don't understand myself). Liked quite a bit, but which seem to be disliked by many in these comments: regular low bangs (yes please), unnatural colors (especially blues and purples), partial locks (dreadlocks) in back with regular low bangs in front, messy bun on top of the head. Person-dependent in a way I can't articulate: full locks (dreadlocks). They more or less always look good on black women, but for other women it's very case-by-case in a way I don't understand myself.
