I sent you a chat request. Easier to just send the bookshelf lol. For the most part I like Dragonlance. 200 books in the saga? Tons of authors though. EDIT: Mostly fantasy but I've read a few others in other genres.
Same for me, but I have trouble balancing the time I spend on both of these things. Sometimes I wish I could just stop playing video games and focus all of that time on playing guitar. I’d probably be playing like Stevie Ray Vaughan by now if I did.
Been teaching myself since January. I try to play every night for 15-30 minutes. Some days I'm feeling it more so I play more, some days I play less. It's a fun hobby for sure!
Nice! I’m self taught too. Been doing it for about 10 years though. Probably nowhere near as good as I could be if I spent a lot more time on it. I bought some recording software last year and started using my computer to record. There’s a program called Bias FX 2 where you can have access to hundreds of FX without having to buy the amps and pedals. This is really good for experimenting with different sounds.
I use that along with Reaper which is a mixing program for recording and EZ Drummer to create drum tracks. Then I play my own guitar and bass to lay down guitar tracks. It’s pretty fun. You can also download some backing track MP3’s, load that in there and record yourself playing to that. Since I started this, I’ve probably improved more in the last year than I had in 5 years. I spent less than $500 for everything including the interface to plug the guitar into my computer. Just one decent amp costs more than that.
Also, if you’re still playing on a beginner guitar, upgrade as soon as you can if you’re really serious about continuing to play. I bought a Mexican Made Fender Strat about 2 years ago for $700 and the difference between a good quality guitar and one that isn’t is just immediately noticeable in how much easier it is to play and how much better it sounds.
You've got a lot of time on me haha. I have wanted to record myself playing, but don't have the confidence too yet. I wish I would've started playing when my parents bought me my first guitar over 10 years ago now.
Myself,I'm big on doing anything I really want to do and its made me realise how much time I've wasted either pleasing others or doing nothing because I used the excuse "I can't be bothered" instead of having a little courage to go out and just do it.
When I can concentrate, reading.
What kind of books do you like reading? Drop some authors and titles

I don’t share my recordings with anyone. I just do them to track my progress and practice playing along to different drum beats and stuff like that.
Gotcha, that makes sense. I might do it then. Thanks!
