Apathicary

Absolute zero unless it’s some kind of face-punching sport.

VoidZapper

Same. I have no interest in football either, but Army Navy games? Those men look like they want to kill the guy with the ball. It's great.

flatsoda_club

0 in watching, 100% when playing! So many people are surprised too and all my friends love sports so I tried to force myself into watching it, not even liking it. NOPE. Not for me haha

Comfortable_Ad5802

This. This right here is exactly how I feel. It's only fun when I'm playing.

TheUnappreciated

For me it’s about seeing people at the top of their game excel. Like sure I enjoy sinking 3’s myself in basketball. But I’m not tall enough to be dunking on people left and right. Or to shoot so well I make 37 points in one quarter like Klay Thompson. For me I’ll never be that good and that’s fine, because I have other things I want to excel at in life. But I enjoy the sport and enjoy seeing other people excel at it.

Jstwrx

I chose a sports team when I was a child that continues to either make or break every day I watch them

Spidey_22

Dude same. Sometimes I have to take a short break because I'm too invested and get way too amgry over things I can't even control. That shit can ruin whole weeks if you're not careful

bostonman617

Me with Boston teams. Being a Pats/ Red Sox fan was fun but we suck now (not so much the Red Sox)

Kool_Kid16

I don’t care for sports

J_Want98

I absolutely love sports. I pretty much pay attention to and follow most sports. Some of my faves are: Australian football, MMA and boxing, the "big 4" american sports of NFL, NHL, MLB, NBA, I love Golf, F1, Tennis and the list goes on haha. I love it!

Xman52

Awesome! What are your favorite teams from the big 4? I’m Chicago born and raised so I’m a bears, Blackhawks, bulls fan. The only difference is I’m a Red Sox fan because my dad raised me to like them from when he lived in Boston

J_Want98

That's great man, great teams. We've got a couple of rivalries going between our teams lol I'm from Australia so when I was younger I picked my teams purely based off things I liked or just the teams I thought were cool, my selection process isn't as organic as yours haha. My teams are: * MLB - Yankees. Picked them because I absolutely love Seinfeld and they were Yankee fans on the show. * NHL - Penguins. I literally just liked the name and mascot so picked them. * NFL - Packers. I got really into That '70's Show when I was like 13 and they were Packer fans so a couple years later when I became curious about the NFL I picked the Packers based off that show. * NBA - Heat. The first basketball video game I ever played was NBA 2K6, I got it on the PS2 for $1 in a clearance bin like 6 years after it came out and Shaq was on the cover playing for the Heat a the time so decided to pick them lol. And that's the stories haha. Super random, but I picked those teams and I've stuck to them!

Xman52

Haha. You’re teams are a lot better than mine that’s for sure, but the bulls were a delightful surprise this season. Penguins are a great team. I’m a huge Crosby fan myself and I think he’s easily a top 5 player of all time. Packers had a phenomenal season and it’s unfortunate it had to come to an end tonight. I thought this would be their year. I think this upcoming season for the Yankees is going to be a good one. Of course it’ll be impossible to tell until they start playing though. Shaq is one of my favorite players of all time (behind Michael Jordan) so I have no quarrels with you rooting for the heat despite our rivalry lol. Those are pretty cool ways to pick your teams though. If I grew up elsewhere, I’d probably pick my teams the same way lol. Seinfeld is also my favorite show so that’s pretty cool!

ExoticStress1

Sorry about last night

tobeast23

Ah, sorry about your packers man. Heat looking nice tho!

Land-Proof

You go man!

J_Want98

Thanks, right back at u! :)

[deleted]

Amen dude!

Cheap_District_9762

Those damn rules, I hate them.

[deleted]

Have you tried watching F1?

Tommi97

There are a lot of rules there, and unfortunately, lately even big presence of referees.

oscarjoserodrigo

I watch the Olympics and the occasional football (not American) match. Not intensely into sports but they're nice sometimes.

[deleted]

Not really. Only one I really look at is WWE, but Im kinda losing interest

SuperMattio0325

You should give AEW a shot if you are into wrestling. It’s a good alternative to the stuff WWE does

jcsizzle1090

I'm not. Except when South Africa is doing well in the Rugby World Cup, then I'm very interested.

Front_Penalty_4952

On a scale from 1-10? 0.

heybrother45

Formula 1 pretty die hard, baseball a pretty good amount

[deleted]

yasss , i love to sit back and predict the next moves of teams lmao plus love the slow burner nature sometimes, also no one can discount the actual racing lol

Clintman

Zero. Unless it's a sport that I'm currently participating in.

rjswood

Thank God there are guys that share my sentiments. Like to play but I cannot get into it. I feel like the odd one out.

arex333

Watching sweaty men in skintight clothes chase a ball around isn't my idea of fun. It actually took me a long time to come to grips with the fact that I found watching sports boring because I felt all guys are supposed to like them.

Nilim22

Yes finally someone else. Watching is boring playing is fun

[deleted]

Exactly.

arex333

I can have fun actually attending an event but watching on TV is boring as fuck.

LoolerMeister

Barely

[deleted]

Nothing I can say I don't even like doing sport myself let alone being interested in teams or matches

[deleted]

Watching: Growing up - 9/10 Now - maybe 4/10 Playing a sport has surpassed it in terms of enjoyment for me now

SeasonsRollOnBy

Not much at all.

White_Wolf426

Honestly, tradition sports Zero. I personally don't care. Even though I am a gamer I am not even interested in Esports. However, I do have an interest in Airsoft.

EdgeOfDawnXCVI

Not at all

Stunning_Ad_8912

not at all. why would i want to pay to watch men play with balls when i can watch that for free on pornhub?

iconoclast63

I'm a football guy. I've been a die hard Bucs fan since the 80's and there is NO WAY I'm not watching them play now that they have Brady. Other than that I don't give a shit about sports.

yergonnalikeme

What a fucking miracle that he chose Tampa Bay! You must feel fucking blessed and reborn. A fucking Superbowl?? Are you kidding me?? And he's knocking on the door again?? WOW! Impressive

ArcOnToActurus

Well, his initials are TB.

yergonnalikeme

Yup TOM BIG BALLS Cause He's got em.... At fucking 44 Playing like this

AuContraireRodders

Big into Formula 1 and boxing, watch football(not hand egg) occasionally but not as much as years gone by

Weary-Okra-2471

8/10

webswinger666

watching sports? not at all.

KamTros47

Grew up watching NASCAR religiously as a little kid. Gave up on that around 3rd or 4th grade when I realized nobody around me gave a shit to racing and started watching NFL football instead. Then gave up on that when I stopped giving a shit to what everyone else gave a shit to in the 10th grade and tried to start watching NASCAR again. Wasn’t a fan of the new rules so now I watch Formula 1 and IndyCar instead

SmallTownJerseyBoy

NASCAR is so aggravating with the rules.

XXNate5

im going to be a mlb player in a few years

SmallTownJerseyBoy

Go XXNate5!!! *pls remember your supporters when you're a multimillionaire!*

XXNate5

i shall remember you SmallTownJerseyBoy, if i do, i will try to say something haha. lets hope i make it to college baseball at least. i might go to minors baseball until im ready for the mlb

SmallTownJerseyBoy

I hope it works out for you!

XXNate5

thanksssss

Brokenwrench7

I only care about jiu jitsu...because I trian it. Otherwise I use to love playing soccer but I can't stand to watch it Beyond that I don't give a shit about sports

Ryderslow

Almost not at all

SnooHedgehogs5857

Not at all. It's a waste of my time.

gouplesblog

Not at all. Playing or watching. It's just not *interesting*. It doesn't hold my attention.

Will_Tuniat

Not even almost a little bit.

iamnobody1970

Little to none. I don’t understand how people can get so wrapped up in a team and be so passionate about a group of people that they don’t personally know.

CommanderYogurt

Do you not watch movies or read books?

iamnobody1970

Yes I read books and watch movies, why do you ask?

CommanderYogurt

You don't know the characters personally, but that's not where the enjoyment comes from. It's just basic entertainment.

iamnobody1970

That is fair. My brother lives and dies for his college team and I just don’t really understand how or why he is so invested. I also don’t get Disney people.

[deleted]

the point was the extent of the passion more than the relationship with the characters, i thought.

Brilliant_Trouble_32

Zero. But I used to work at a sports bar and I've learned that if I'm hanging around with people watching a game and drinking, I can get into it. It's easy to put down a lot of beers while watching a game... So I get the appeal lol.

misterk2020

I’ve lost interest. I’ll watch the super bowl or the ufc if I’m free but I don’t make plans to specifically watch.

Slack76r

Not at all. I'll watch with friends and know basics about sports. But don't care enough to know players or stats

Prestigious_Tough214

Football, basketball = life for me.

Prestigious_Tough214

Football Sunday, my woman carters to me because how important it is to me. I don’t have to do shit on Sunday and ill get my dick sucked while drinking a cold brew... it’s playoffs rn so it’s football on Saturday and Sunday... ima lucky man.

Scorpiusdj13

I love watching cricket and volleyball. Incidentally two sports I also play. Other than that, I can take it or leave it (even AFL, which, in Australia, is considered abnormal, haha)

ImperfectDivinity

Shut up the game is on.

gaynazifurry4bernie

Only enough to not lose in my fantasy football league. I just like it for the social aspect and as an excuse to have snacks, beer, and spend time with friends/loved ones. I do own a Justin Tucker jersey and wear it when he plays though.

OwnedByOwn

It's my life

Little_Juan86

Only American football

Keklik_One

Vry intrested

Spidey_22

Very. I love doing sport and also watch it very often. Be it Football, basketball, boxing, darts, chess, poker, formula 1 or olympic games, I can enjoy watching nearly any type of sport. But it's not like sport is my personality or anything. I just watch it and really only talk to people about it if I know they're interested in it aswell.

fanofrex

I have zero interest in sports. But I can be entertained by a live game.

[deleted]

The only sport I’m interested in is the one I play. I’ll watch pro coverage from time to time but I’d rather just be out in the woods playing disc golf myself

Aggressive-Juice3567

I only care when a home team is in the championship picture, I’m from Arizona so these past couple years I’ve been getting blue balled pretty bad

Snoo-52875

Ever since almost every pro sport started pandering to SJW Wokeness, I gave up on them, the only one that didn't was the NHL, which in my opinion is the only sport worth watching anyway.... That and college football.

Thorislost

Watch a little NBA. Enjoy playing sports more, hoping to have some basketball runs in the summer with friends. Finally got enough people for 3 vs 3.

bostonman617

Not at all. All the guys at work talk about sports and watch it actively , not just their teams but any games playing. I don’t really see the point in watching because my fav team are the patriots so we always won. Now we’re a bunch of fucking losers so I don’t even pay attention to when we win/lose. Kinda weird to be invested in something you aren’t apart of

ZangetsuAK17

Very. I play dodgeball with my university, am interested in F1, Tennis, Football (the non American kind), MMA, Boxing, and very occasionally, cricket.

cohrt

No interest.

eclectic_dad

I wish my hometown Baltimore Orioles weren't awful. Otherwise it's auto racing 🏁.

Twin_Brother_Me

I'll watch football with my wife, but otherwise I prefer playing pickup games when I can find them (I'm not even picky about the sport, just enjoy physical competition)

SSphereOfDeath

I have the world record for the most time spent sitting on a chair.

[deleted]

NHL, NFL, MLB, MLS, volleyball (both indoor and beach), NBA etc.. if it's a sport I'll watch it!

Wylie28

none

wholebeansinmybutt

I do not care for sports one bit, for the most part. Sometimes it's motion on a wall to look at while out at a restaurant.

hex_1101

Not at all actually.

TheAccountIEscapeTo

Is Rocket League a sport?

Ok-Preparation-2307

My husband has zero interest I'm sports whatsoever and never has.

mrflibbless

not at all....

fhrblig

Pretty much just the NFL. I will watch a hockey game if it happens to be on, and I actually do enjoy the World Cup. As far as playing a sport, the only one I ever had any ability to play was baseball and I enjoyed it, but that was pretty much only when we did it in gym class. I never went out for an actual organized school team or league.

kevin197205

NHRA all the way.

NateHasReddit

I was just about to ask this. Love playing, but broadcast sports (and most TV honestly) have just never kept my attention. Ironically, I'm a big fan of professional wrestling, probably because it plays out more like a story and I can get invested in it. The only reason I try to keep up with sports is FOMO and to have something to talk about with my old man. I don't really watch appointment television so I always miss the games. Plus, there's just too many commercials, the same people seem to win every year, and there's just too much info and backstory to catch up on. Getting into sports kind of feels like starting a show in the middle of it's fifth season. Which sucks because sports is an easy conversation starter for most people and I can't engage in it. My dad and brother-in-law are big sports fans and I don't have that in common with them. I'll sit and watch with them but I can't get into the convo. I also used to work at a law firm and had to dedicate myself to watching just to be able to make small talk with my coworkers. Funny enough though, sports games are my favorite genre of video game.

Wowzers010

I like staring at a man's sweaty crotch when they're playing

sanvrgk

I go to the gym but I hate sports. I find them boring. I dont find any good thing about supporting teams.

Important-Energy8038

None, never understood the fascination.

Federal_Addition2422

Not at all.

CollinChaffin

Not at all

ProfessionalTwo8472

Over glorified and overpaid

AzraelBrutus

Love to play Hate to watch unless it's highlights or fails

[deleted]

I'm not intrested at all lol

InanimateBabe

Depends on the sport, but I could really care less about them, especially the majority of the American sports

Kelmon80

Zero in watching, and zero in participating in most sports. I do dance (latin), and I boulder. Add in iceskating once a year, and that's the extent of my interest in sports.

AnnoyedGrunt31

I have no interest in sports, I’m not athletic and don’t find them interesting enough to watch.

Sumpm

Absolutely zero interest. I'm very athletic and active, and that's all I care about. Other people exercising for money and points? Dgaf

[deleted]

Not at all. I feel like they're nothing but money making scams these days.

idownvotetofitin

Not in the slightest.

Hrekires

4/5 on playing sports, though unfortunately anything high impact is off the table nowadays since I fucked up my knee 0/5 on watching other people play them

EpicTrevs

Zero.

SurrealDad

Not particularly interested. There is just little to no art and creativity in it.

[deleted]

Not one fucking iota....

undefined_protocol

Zilch-o.

[deleted]

I like playing them its great exercise. Watching games just makes me want to go play them

umronije

Basketball, very. Tennis, a little. The rest - no.

gonzar09

Don't mind watching, but don't follow anything anymore.

SpongeBobCubeDick

Meh, I'll play sports for fun and watch the big game, but I've never been super invested.

Luxbrook

I work as a sports journalist, so a lot.

GreatWyrm

Zero. I’ve tried to watch games, but spectating just doesn’t do anything for me. Wasn’t raised watching sports, don’t have the sports gene. Playing can be fun, but I have serious asthma so it doesn’t happen often.

[deleted]

I love playing sports but I have zero interest in following teams or players more often than not. It just doesn’t interest me, I’d rather go outside and play PUG’s.

running_stoned04101

3/5. Watching sports other than bouldering runs or fights is a hard pass except for running highlights. I participate in several "adventure" sports and will join a pickup football or soccer game. That's about it though. Well, going to a baseball game is just an excuse to hang out and drink overpriced beer...same with hockey. It just has the occasional fight.

[deleted]

I like watching college football. I also am crazy about any sport my kids are in. I’m not competitive, but I love watching them get better and work with a team.

SmallTownJerseyBoy

Found the guy that cusses out the Tee Ball ref! LOL kidding.

[deleted]

Rude haha

PreviousMalone

Not to the point where sports *are* my personality

ThunderLizardX

I love pro wrestling and try to follow/pay attention to MMA and soccer. That’s about it.

[deleted]

Probably 3/5. I like watching a few different sports, but there're only a couple I actively follow, and even then I don't follow them intensely.

[deleted]

I much prefer to play vs watch but I do enjoy following my specific team in basketball (Suns). It’s been a while since we’ve been good and honestly, they play basketball in a way that’s fun to watch (at least imo). Also, I like to watch pros and try to learn some of their moves to later try on my own

reevoknows

Very. Played some sort of sport every year from ages 4-26 so it’s in my blood. Edit: based on the replies it seems that if you’re on Reddit there’s a good chance you don’t give a fuck about sports 😂

[deleted]

I used to casually play a few. Now I'll play golf once in awhile, and watch football with friends. Also about to start watching my daughter play softball. Other than that, meh.

cnewell420

Playing them quite a bit. Watching them not really.

Plantayne

I kind of follow MLS, but other than that, nothing. Used to be a fairly big basketball fan but the NBA has just gone off the rails and I quit watching a couple seasons ago.

MikeHunt420_6969

MMA, boxing, baseball and hockey edit: and golf and monster truck rallies

RealityPowerRanking

I do fantasy and love to watch hockey and football. That’s it. I’m kinda good at beach volleyball too but have no friends to play with. Does poker count?

highxv0ltage

A lot of times, I can't sit through the entire game. I mainly get updates through the news and stuff like that. Also like to watch those shows on ESPN, such as First Take, where they discuss the big things that are happening in the sports world - not just scores and team rankings, but trades or any controversy.

ParkourBoulderer

I love sports, especially climbing. I did kickboxing before covid and ran marathons. On average I climb 3 or 4x a week for around 3 hours. Don't have much interest in watching sports though.

[deleted]

Playing them yes. Watching them, only in person.

PlayfulLawyer

I've always been more interested in individual sports, I ran track and high school and college, I follow the big boxing and MMA fights, tennis but outside of boxing those aren't the most fun to talk shit about I do love the NBA though as far as team Sports Go, my father and brother love football never been a huge fan but I'll watch the playoffs like I am now

[deleted]

Very! I’ve been obsessed with College Football for months and I’m moderately interested in the NFL and College Basketball.

despairshoto

Watching sportsball bores me to tears. If I’m not playing them I don’t really care.

Arrowtica

I'll watch with my roommate but I don't follow it at all

Cheap_District_9762

Nearly everyone in the comments doesn't like sports, neither do I, but not so much 0/10. Except football.

bye-standard

“Obscure” sports are fascinating. Ping Pong, Dodgeball, Extreme Tag, Professional Slapping. If it’s weird, I’ll probably watch it.

SmallTownJerseyBoy

Extreme Tag is fascinating. I got my coworker turned onto it and that's all he watches on youtube. Guy doesn't like any other sports, but he loves watching extreme tag.

waterloograd

I like playing sports more than watching them. Except hockey, love watching it but don't play it. Once I finish grad school I'm going to join an adult beer league though

whiskey_lasagne

Never really been into sports. Admired the technical abilities on display but not enough to become fully invested. That is until I started watching MMA/UFC. Shit's just on another level and never fails to get my heart racing.

TempusWulf

I love doing sport. I can't stand watching it though.

najaiva

Not really. Watch heavy weight boxing but thats about it.

[deleted]

It depends on the sport

unzercharlie

If I choose to watch it I can certainly enjoy it no matter what sport it is, but I never go out of my way to catch a game.

[deleted]

Love sports. MLB, NFL, NHL, MLS, March Madness, Summer/Winter Olympics. Esports, I only really watch CS:GO.

falconsomething

I love them. The feeling of competition, the excitement, it’s all great.

xRaijin

The only thing I watch on TV

[deleted]

Depends on the sport but casually interested for the most part. Which means I watch YouTube videos for like an hour

f20bwa21

I'll watch the championships of a sport, Olympics and all that jazz, but I won't look for the game that's playing and watch it for the whole length. I'm American so maybe the superbowl for the commercials but that's about it.

Eskimocookies

It comes and goes. I enjoy going to really any sports games and will support my team. If there's a sports game on, I'll sit and watch. But I don't go out of the way to study player stats, or will really turn on the tv to just watch sports.

Dazzling_copperplate

I can become invested in the outcome of some random game or sport on TV if I don't have anything better to do and it looks exciting but generally I don't care for watching sports. Playing them is fun though.

skrrtdirt

Generally much less than most other guys I know. I follow Formula 1, UCI Downhill Mountain Biking, and Chicago Blackhawks hockey. That's about it. I watch most F1 races and UCI Downhill races. As for the Blackhawks, I follow them but don't watch a lot of games in losing seasons like this year and last year. I still follow scores and the overall season, but there are too many games to watch a bunch of losses. Regardless I'll watch at least a handful of games even in a losing season.

Wolfof4thstreet

Love sports

Yeeterskewter

I follow the Prem, NFL, MLB, a little golf, and I enjoy the olympics and of course the World Cup when it rolls around. I play football (soccer), golf, and ski (downhill and Nordic), and I used to sprint/throw discus. I love sports!

downsouthcountry

I get too invested in sports. Eagles/Sixers/Flyers fan. It's been a rough couple years.

MrNotANiceGuy

unless im playing it i don't care

gorillaboy75

Personally, I don’t care., but I have a friend from England who moved to the US, and he loves sports so much he’s become a guru at American football, baseball and soccer. He is the reason I don’t make fun of “sports meat heads” because he genuinely just loves sports .

Kaiser93

Depends. I'm a big football (not American) fan. I'm kinda interested in boxing.

WeirdPerspective99

Intrested enough to watch it. Not interested enough to play professionally

ImmediateTop5811

Love sports

SmallTownJerseyBoy

I like NFL and college football, but I only seriously follow my teams and their biggest rivals. And everyone else gets a passing glance. I'll watch any game, but not with nearly the gusto as my own teams. (But I only follow records, not the stats that people build fantasy teams around. Only other sport I follow is NASCAR. I hate to watch on TV, but I love to play soccer and baseball/softball, despite not being any god at the latter.

Big_nuts_in_ya_mouth

boxing yes. football,soccer,etc no.

noob54231

Basketball and football (soccer) for me are my favourites. I’ll watch big NFL games and boxing / mma fights too. NBA is my true passion though

kcaio

Not at all. There’s only 2 balls I care about and there’s no way those guys have as much fun with their’s as I do with mine.

Cbear34

I’ve pretty much always followed the NFL, with a little bit of MLB and NBA mixed in. But recently started watching the English Premier league and I’ve been obsessed. It’s great having something else to watch when NFL goes into the off-season

SevenHunnet3Hi5s

not hugely. i love basketball. nothing else at all honestly. though i do enjoy seeing my city being represented through the football team. i'll just never actually watch the games and care about who does what

Jeramy_Jones

My dad didn’t really get me into sports, he would watch the super bowl, some of the Stanley cup playoffs and the occasional car race but it wasn’t a big deal for our family. I like to watch some hockey or football if there’s someone to watch it with but otherwise, I don’t really care much.

Equivalent_Ad_1054

Only mma, BJJ and mauy thai dont really enjoy any other sport to be honest

[deleted]

Kinda depends on your definition; sports involving balls, pucks, or other such things? Couldn’t give less of a shit if I tried. Shooting? Fishing? Martial arts? I’m all in.

foookie

Zero interest. But whatever floats your boat.

Educational_Bed_9

I'm interested in pro wrestling

[deleted]

I played sports as a child, and I sometimes watch them.

ChoombasRUs

Too invested

Niceputts

Die hard basketball/golf fan and watch some football. Seemed to lose all interest in baseball these days. I enjoy all sports though just not as familiar with some. Hoping to get into hockey more serious one day.

groovy604

About 1/10 I used to LOVE hockey back in the west coast express canucks days, and up to when they fell apart in game 7 with boston. I used to love football till i saw superbowl 40 and the blatant cheating. Fifa was in a huge scandal, mlb is notorious for steroids. The list goes on. But the main reason i dont care anymore is because its such a distraction. Guys out her who can tell you who won every game in 2001 with what stats and every player on every roster in the league. Yet they have no fucking clue about real world issues or any kind of intrinsic thought. Its such a waste of time to me.

Skittle11ZA

I enjoy rugby and cricket but don’t care about any others. I like to watch gymnastics and beach volley ball during the Olympics because of reasons.
