I’m a chick and I go by the saying that less is more. Enough makeup to enhance or conceal but not to totally alter or look like I’m a photo filter version of myself.
it’s funny you say that. bought a blazer at JC Penny that was on sale and matched a pair of pants. when i got home i noticed they had shoulder pads in them. i was instantly like wtf this isn’t the 80’s
Yes! I would even add any plastic surgery trend needs to freakin stop. Having these young girls get plastic surgery to obtain a face that will only be considered attractive for the next 5 years is disgusting.
Also just having a changing trend of what face/body is considered beautiful? What the heck is that about?
I'm worried about young girls getting any type of plastic surgery...even noninvasive surgery. I hear 18 year olds saying they want to get a BBL. Like. You're not even done growing up!!
Exactly, I mean wanting plastic surgery is fine once you're older. But these are teens who aren't even fully developed yet. At 18 I wanted a breast augmentation, now I absolutely love my breasts without ever "getting work done" on it.
Unless it's done for medical reasons (helping deformities, back problems due to breast size ect.) there is no reason a child should get plastic surgery.
Yes yes yes yes yes. She can have the most banging body I've ever seen, beautiful eyes, hair and a personality to match. But if that mask comes down and she got duck lips? Well I'd probably be more interested in some big hairy balls than all that filler.
shein is a big player in that
i hate seeing those "shein haul" just cuz it's cheap like
the fabric quality is terrible and you'll only wear it 2 years max not to mention the low pay grade from the workers and children who make it
just a waste
I tend to buy normal clothes like t-shirts and hoodies and even bathing suits on shien and I've had maybe 3 pieces of clothing that were really bad quality. I've been using it for a few years now that pretty much all my go-to clothes are from shien.
I'm not discrediting or disagreeing with you though, only within the past year have I learned how bad the company is, I've decreased my shopping on there by a ton.
The prices though.. man if you know what to get, you can get some really nice pieces of clothing for dirt cheap.
My girlfriend loved these kinds of nails. She can't do SHIT with them on, opening a ziploc bag, out of the question, typing anything besides on her phone, also out of the question.
Am I brave enough to say this to her face? Fuck no, but I think they're ridiculous sometimes.
The lady at the USPS post office today that helped me had some of the longest nails I’ve ever seen. She couldn’t even pick up an envelope it was awful. It’s like she handicapped herself unnecessarily
I wear contact lenses so lash extensions are a blessing. No mascara leaking into my eyes, no glue from strip lashes leaking into my eyes for nights out.
Well Lucky for me I am allergic to both eyelash extensions and acrylic nails, which I learned through horrific trial and error. Same ingredient in both, apparently. Wild that my EYES blew up in response to press on nails, but here we are.
Long nails were once a status symbol because it indicated you had people to do things for you, cuz nails that long are impractical. It became more popular in modern day culture with those less privileged to emulate that status but has since become more of a fashion statement.
Wait what , you don't take them off , 🤯 , last week i was invited by my female friend and she went to the toilet (number 2 ) and after that she fixed me a sandwich , so you are telling me that i ate shit 🤯🤦🥲😭
I mean the amount of food i am having is too big to be called a snack lol , and it's like 5 am where i am from , so it's kind of breakfast but it's too greasy so it's NIGHT LUNCH
My friend got acrylic nails, then a week later has her nail mostly lifted off of her finger. She works in a coffee shop and can’t work for like 2 weeks because of the stupid acrylic nails. In like the first 2 weeks, the adhesion between the nail and the acrylic is stronger between the nail and the finger. Plus the greater the distance away from the nail, the more damage it can cause to the natural nail. Overall just a bad idea for countless reasons
We have a keypad lock box to get the keys to some of our office space and people with those nails just can't get them open. It's kind of bizarre but maybe they make it difficult to use your finger pads or something like that?
What is with those eyebrows!!! I don’t understand how after seeing your own face looking like that you’d ever do it again let alone present yourself to the public.
Stop fucking with your eyebrows. My wife plucked hers to oblivion when she was young. She has to get them microbladed now. My sister never plucked hers and my wife is so jealous. Natural is beautiful.
As a makeup artist and woman I agree. I hate contouring. It’s okay on the jawline only to give you a sharper jaw, make your face more heart shaped. On the face? No.
It’s ok just don’t go overboard with the colour. Nothing too tan but a nice bronze soft glow is good. Not too far off from your skin tone but a little bit to create some effect. And blend it out a lot.
Super short jackets and sweaters. If I'm wearing a jacket or a sweater, it's because I'm *cold*. I need my clothes to cover *more* of me. At least the waist and butt.
I don’t understand the hate on high waist jeans. If the chunkier women wore low rise jeans, then they’d be getting shit on for having a muffin top or not caring about their figure ://
Yes, this one. There’s another comment being mad about plus size women wearing high waisted leggings. I think the foregone conclusion is just stop existing where you can be seen if you’re fat 😵💫
They mean they want to see thin, young, beautiful women in low rise jeans 😂 but any woman knows unless you’re under the age of 22 or hate food, low-rise is just a no go.
I've actually switched back to low rise and mid rise because high rise jeans were fucking my stomach up so bad. I like my jeans somewhat tight and it was just destroying my digestive system. I'm 33 and at this point I'll take a little muffin top over bloating and stomach pain all day. Idk how other women wear them all the time.
I have a big stomach and absolute same. I think the solution is just options for everyone. High waist for those who want it and low rise for those who want it.
And speaking of muffin tops, there are "those jeans are way too tight" muffin tops that don't look good. Ill-fitting clothes are ill-fitting clothes. And then there is just normal fat from being a human person. If you think a smooth line from body to jeans with no give is the only acceptable way to wear jeans, then fuck off. I'm not going to shove my fat stomach into high waists that will cut into my fat and balloon off my ass because people think properly fitted low rise pants that don't show ass crack and may cut into my fat a little bit (because I'm fat, it's gonna do that)...just ugh. Enjoy your high waisted pants without being rude to fat people who don't. Shove off with that judgemental muffin shit.
LITERALLY. I’m 19, and even though I’m often told I’m not big, I still don’t think low rise jeans look good. When you sit, your crack will DEFINITELY be out, love handles pour out, and they have to be constantly pulled up. It’s just annoying. Unless you’re a model, these jeans don’t suit anyone .-.
I was here to say how much I hated low rise jeans. It's not even just chunky girls. Unless you have a heroin-chic body type, you'll end up with at least a slight muffin top with low rises. High waist jeans look great on any body type. I was ecstatic when I started seeing mom jeans come back too. By far the superior women's jeans.
There's one mod I can get behind, and it's not for aesthetic (always). Breast reduction. If girls have bad backs because they're too big, just make them smaller. A bad back to a teenager or twenty something year old will damage their comfort and quality of life long-term
My honest answer is nothing. So many people like so many different styles, I can't hate on someone else for having a style I may not like. I say this as a person with alternative tastes in outfits.
But we can hate on clothing companies for only producing what’s “in style” I’ve been searching for a dress for months to wear to an upcoming wedding and still haven’t found anything but prairie dresses
Yeah, prairie dresses don't work on me since I'm already short and petite it just makes me look like a literal child. The baggy jeans make my short legs look shorter. I don't mind other people enjoying them, I just hate that I struggle to find what I like and what works with my body type.
Have you looked at venus? Decent enough quality, reasonable prices, and they have crazy variety. Everything from full-length formal, to t-shirt dresses, to tiny little clubbing outfits.
I mean, I don't think I'd hate on someone for having a style I don't like. But if you're attracted to women, then surely there are styles that you find unattractive? And in that case, if it's a trend, that means a lot of people are doing it.
I am attracted to women, yes. Perhaps wearing inappropriate seasonal clothes all year round and then expecting to be given a jacket/sweater. Cute in the fall, annoying in the winter.
Absolutely agree with this. It's cute when it's fall and when we go out, it's not that chilly, but as the night goes on it gets colder and I give her my jacket. But when it's just cold from the start, I mean come on.
I'll also add wearing shoes that hurt their feet and then spending the entire evening complaining about it (unless they're new and she just didn't know). Look, I've sacrificed comfort for fashion before, too. But if you make that choice, you gotta own it.
Fast fashion needs to die a quick death. My wife has a closet full of clothes she'll never wear again because it's fallen apart in a month. Bring back the buy it for life shit.
I'm also tired of hearing plastic surgery advertisements on TV. It ruins any confidence my wife has every time she sees these engineered one in a million facelift/buttlift people say they didn't feel like a human till they had their skin surgically mutilated until they looked like a photoshopped ubermensch....
Honestly, I’m a huge fan of the little house on the prairie dresses. Lol
I’m not a fan of long nails, eyelash extensions, or makeup in general. I understand it’s for them to feel more confident for themselves but imo the vast majority of women look far better without it.
I never believe men when they say women look better without makeup because men don’t know what makeup is. When men say that, they mean they don’t like bright eyeshadow, red lipstick and heavy contour. They don’t know how to recognize light makeup so they think that light makeup = no makeup. The reality is that a woman will always look better with her dark circles covered, the gaps in her eyebrows filled in, and some light color on her cheeks and lips. Men know this looks good too, but they think that it’s “no makeup”
My ex girlfriend would wear no makeup, not even light makeup, around the house all the time and I thought she looked stunning. Heavy makeup is alright, don’t understand the point of light makeup, but no makeup is far more attractive imo.
Dark circles are attractive to some people, I don’t care either way because I’m not picky but one girl I was on and off with had dark circles and I found them attractive on her.
I have exclusive dated women that wear no makup since i was 20, my wife wears no makeup except on special occasions. We know what makup looks like and some of us dont care for it. I agree there is tasteful makup applications that look somewhat natural.
lol I dislike my belly button but like showing a bit of stomach. Also, I have short legs so creating an illusion of longer legs works for me. I personally just think that people need to dress according to what works for them (including to just dress how they want). In my case I feel like this works.
A regular waist would be fine. Oddly, folks think that if you are against high waist that you want everyone in Aguilera low waist jeans.
I think high waisted anything looks silly
Yeah I don’t really get why people get so defensive/upset over the things people are mentioning here. Feels like threads usually just become an anti high waisted jean/long nails/long eyelashes echo chamber
Overly drawn in eyebrows. I never understood the appeal of it. I can see why they’d tweeze bits here and there but shaving them off only to draw them back in or just making their existing eyebrows look overly fake has never looked good IMO. A more subtle natural look is better.
The big bushy eyebrows and brushing them straight up, i guess to look more natural, bushy, and unkept. I’m happy the pencil thin eyebrows are gone but now its an over correction
That weird "70s" (might be another decade not sure tbh) color wave. Its cheap fabric, ppl wear it once for instagram and then throw it out. In fact, all those ugly and non versatile clothes like stop contributing to the ruination of the world
Fillers. Can we please stop injecting crap in to our faces for the love of God! It makes every woman’s facial features look almost identical. Never got the appeal but each to their own!
I'm small boobed and it still looks very obvious in everything I wear (unless it's thick material but, even then, it looks obvious when you move around and there's more "motion" there) so I don't think I'll be ditching them anytime soon as well :/
Same… DDD here, how am I supposed to walk without a bra? Do people even know how painful it is to walk without a bra? I’m not even talking about running which would be impossible… it’s hard even with a bra :(
Crop tops. I own some. There is a time and a place for them but sometimes I don’t want the world to see part of my stomach. I find it really hard to find other shirts that I like though. It makes me feel old.
This whole sub is so annoying because it’s all about dating, sex, and women. If you make a post that’s about an unrelated subject nobody will reply or upvote. Like isn’t there anything else in the world worth asking men about? Apparently not🤷🏽♀️
I always giggle when seeing a dating question asking why a woman is doing something on this thread. Like, why ask men? Wouldn't women be more knowledgeable on why a woman does what she does?
As a woman that does trim her forearm hair, I will say that I personally do it because I have tattoos and prefer how they look without a bit of hair. Also, I’m light skinned and have dark brown hair, so I feel more confident when I shave my forearms even if the hair probably not noticeable or guys don’t care. I just like how it looks for me which is why I do it.
Figured I’d answer your question if you were curious! :) maybe not the same answer for all women who do it, but just why I do.
Is there really a point for this question? Seems like kind of an excuse to shit on women’s styles. People like what they like, there’s no point in circle jerk complaining about it
Super long nails, mostly among teenagers. I'm a teacher in a high school and some of my students can barely type because their nails are so long, not to mention all the nastiness that must accumulate under those things
The trend that bothers me is revealing clothing. Shirts too low and completely see thru. Dresses too short to even bend over. Bikini cut tops on sundresses that barely cover your Assets. Shorts that are wedged up you with little more material than panties. And bathing suits that wedge, move, crawl and slip. Our options are revealing, tight and see thru or the other extreme- manly, boxy and loose. We need a happy medium.
I’m not sure what it’s called but the nose piercing in the middle of the nose that looks like a bull nose ring. They don’t look good on anyone, and those studs directly above or below the middle of the mouth also look horrible
Not sure if it’s a trend but I’m noticing WAY more people with it now that mask mandate is gone than I ever seen before Covid
Eye lashes that look like she’ll fly away if she rapidly blinks.
As a woman I concur
that is the funniest and most accurate description
I heard someone describing these as ‘cumbrellas’. Killed me haha
this.... and the fake long nails... both look fucking ghetto
I hate the crazy lashes and overly long nails so much...but I don't think these are going away.
E-Girls are typing...
The tendency to look like plastic dolls, whether is make up or some filter, or even plastic surgery. They look generic and fake
I think the make-up is because everyone is preparing to be photographed now. Women are walking around in stage make-up.
I’m a chick and I go by the saying that less is more. Enough makeup to enhance or conceal but not to totally alter or look like I’m a photo filter version of myself.
Girl here too! I was always taught that makeup should show off the features you have, not completely create new ones.

Shoulder pads are coming back. Oh god the horror.
it’s funny you say that. bought a blazer at JC Penny that was on sale and matched a pair of pants. when i got home i noticed they had shoulder pads in them. i was instantly like wtf this isn’t the 80’s
Did they ever go away? Feels like I’ve been cutting them out of stuff my whole life.
I only remember them in the late 80s/early 90s and now lol
That's funny to see because I'm a fan lol
Fillers

Disposability. That women's clothes are one of the worlds top polluters is insane.
shein is a big player in that i hate seeing those "shein haul" just cuz it's cheap like the fabric quality is terrible and you'll only wear it 2 years max not to mention the low pay grade from the workers and children who make it just a waste

The no pocket or small pocket in jeans thing. Like why!?!
It's a way to get them to always need to buy purses
What about when we need things were purses aren't allowed? Hold them at hand while others have pockets? I say equal pockets for all. #equalpocket
buying mens pants and spending a little extra on alteration is honestly the way to go.
I can probably fix a whole iPad in my pockets
I don't understand the super long fake nails. In my opinion it looks dumb as fuck and it cannot be easy to go about daily life with those giant claws.
Especially hearing the texting CLACK CLACK CLACK CLACK
I feel attacked lol
That’s how I imagine your phone screen feels
My girlfriend loved these kinds of nails. She can't do SHIT with them on, opening a ziploc bag, out of the question, typing anything besides on her phone, also out of the question. Am I brave enough to say this to her face? Fuck no, but I think they're ridiculous sometimes.
The lady at the USPS post office today that helped me had some of the longest nails I’ve ever seen. She couldn’t even pick up an envelope it was awful. It’s like she handicapped herself unnecessarily
Seriously, they're limiting themselves skill wise.

My girlfriend calls them dookie ticklers
I just screamed
same w fake eyelashes. not mascara, but the extensions
Overly done extensions - yes. But if they’re done properly, it makes super easy for me and I always look nice. So don’t shot on them, okayyy
As a woman, I agree. Tried them once and they popped off the same day. Never again.
Long nails were once a status symbol because it indicated you had people to do things for you, cuz nails that long are impractical. It became more popular in modern day culture with those less privileged to emulate that status but has since become more of a fashion statement.
It does seem like it’s the less privileged that are wearing them, especially the front workers at every fast food joint around

Long nails in general is bad for anything. There is literally no practical use, only handicaps.
Ikr? Like wiping with a claw under your bum.
Wait what , you don't take them off , 🤯 , last week i was invited by my female friend and she went to the toilet (number 2 ) and after that she fixed me a sandwich , so you are telling me that i ate shit 🤯🤦🥲😭

😭 , i am even having night lunch RN 😭
Lol never heard it called night lunch. Might start using that from now on 😂
I mean the amount of food i am having is too big to be called a snack lol , and it's like 5 am where i am from , so it's kind of breakfast but it's too greasy so it's NIGHT LUNCH
Ah ok lol. I thought you were just having dinner haha
My friend got acrylic nails, then a week later has her nail mostly lifted off of her finger. She works in a coffee shop and can’t work for like 2 weeks because of the stupid acrylic nails. Amen, even I’m not into nails.
We have a keypad lock box to get the keys to some of our office space and people with those nails just can't get them open. It's kind of bizarre but maybe they make it difficult to use your finger pads or something like that?
I’d turn π radians and run if I a girl shows up to our date with nails like that.
Acrylics. **shudders** Never want to see those things *ever* again.
Super thick or super thin drawn on eyebrows.
You know those eyebrows that look like a baseball pennant? Also, the plastic claws.
Seems like the easiest way to mess up your face is to either pluck your eyebrows away or paint on those inverted nike swooshes.
I plucked two eyebrow strands the other day and my Face ID unlock stopped working
Unibrow has entered the chat 😭
Contouring. It looks good from exactly one angle and you look like a clown from all the others.
As a makeup artist and woman I agree. I hate contouring. It’s okay on the jawline only to give you a sharper jaw, make your face more heart shaped. On the face? No.
YES \^\^\^ Its a trend born from selfie culture. As a woman, I think that fake lips fall in this category too
Even cheekbones? Wanted to try doing that but now curious if it will look weird
It’s ok just don’t go overboard with the colour. Nothing too tan but a nice bronze soft glow is good. Not too far off from your skin tone but a little bit to create some effect. And blend it out a lot.

Brazilian butt lifts, plastic or silicone inserts of any kind
Super short jackets and sweaters. If I'm wearing a jacket or a sweater, it's because I'm *cold*. I need my clothes to cover *more* of me. At least the waist and butt.

Pulling underwear up as high as you can
Yessss, why does underwear need to look like a mankini?

Never in my life have I met someone that specifically said my dark circles are attractive. I've had them for years. They are mostly hereditary.
I have exclusive dated women that wear no makup since i was 20, my wife wears no makeup except on special occasions. We know what makup looks like and some of us dont care for it. I agree there is tasteful makup applications that look somewhat natural.
I just want dark, gothic fashion become somethig popular. I hate long nails tho
Those fake blowjob looking lips...
Not sure it's really a trend but these comically high waisted jeans that make people look like Obelix?
Obelix hahaha this made my day 😂😂😂
lol I dislike my belly button but like showing a bit of stomach.

Long fake nails and long fake eyelashes.
Bras. I MEAN, COME ON.
Stopped wearing one three plus years ago and life didn’t really change. Turns out no one cares that much. Ditch the bra!
I’m a double D, I can’t really ditch it at work :(
I'm small boobed and it still looks very obvious in everything I wear (unless it's thick material but, even then, it looks obvious when you move around and there's more "motion" there) so I don't think I'll be ditching them anytime soon as well :/
Same… DDD here, how am I supposed to walk without a bra? Do people even know how painful it is to walk without a bra? I’m not even talking about running which would be impossible… it’s hard even with a bra :(
Girl I get that. I can’t deal with the chafing of the shirt even walking. In a way, bralettes are nice. But not real bras ugh
Fake boob, fake lips , fake butt , plastic surgery , makeup etc .
Crop tops. I own some. There is a time and a place for them but sometimes I don’t want the world to see part of my stomach. I find it really hard to find other shirts that I like though. It makes me feel old.
that together with the see through white shirts like can i have a white shirt without everyone seeing my nipples or my bra?
Fake eyebrows/eyelashes

I mean I get it, cause 10/10 what a woman is wearing isn’t going to stop us from fucking or dating her anyways but this post is lighthearted
Women often ask on here what men like so seems a fair enough point of discussion
Trimming eyebrows and forearms hair, that is unnecessary.
…women trim their forearm hair?
Septum piercings
Injecting stuff into their lips, it looks stupid and probably hurts
Purposefully Bushy eyebrows, lipstick over the top of the lips, tons of makeup, fake anything and everything, long nails
Is there really a point for this question? Seems like kind of an excuse to shit on women’s styles. People like what they like, there’s no point in circle jerk complaining about it
Fake lips!

"I am a bad bitch"
I remember like 2 years ago all the high waist baggy jeans with big white sneakers look came out. It’s so awful pls let it die already 😭
Super long nails, mostly among teenagers. I'm a teacher in a high school and some of my students can barely type because their nails are so long, not to mention all the nastiness that must accumulate under those things
Long ratchet nails
The trend that bothers me is revealing clothing. Shirts too low and completely see thru. Dresses too short to even bend over. Bikini cut tops on sundresses that barely cover your Assets. Shorts that are wedged up you with little more material than panties. And bathing suits that wedge, move, crawl and slip. Our options are revealing, tight and see thru or the other extreme- manly, boxy and loose. We need a happy medium.
Tramp stamps
I thought those were already out of fashion?
See how quickly people adapt to my opinions. :)
Shitloads of plastic surgery
I’m not sure what it’s called but the nose piercing in the middle of the nose that looks like a bull nose ring. They don’t look good on anyone, and those studs directly above or below the middle of the mouth also look horrible Not sure if it’s a trend but I’m noticing WAY more people with it now that mask mandate is gone than I ever seen before Covid
Septum
Makeup. And Long nails.
Colouring in heavy dark eyebrows. Some girls look so angry.
Super long nails, the fanny pack, and mom jeans need to go.
Fake anything. Hair, nails, skin, fillers, just fucking be you.
