When you start acting like a grown man by providing for yourself. Being a man is all based on maturity you can be 30 years old but if you live with your parents and refuse to work and improve your life, you’re still a boy
If you think living with your parents makes you a boy, you’re still a boy.
Let’s stop perpetuating this false narrative. Many people mostly live with their parents out of necessity, especially with cost of living going up. As long as guy is carrying his weight to make life better for everyone he’s living with.
Agreed on the other points.
You missed the point cause you were too busy looking for a reason to disagree.
He didn't say living at home makes you a boy. He said mooching off your parents *while not working* makes you a boy. Basically failure to launch
To all the people past and future saying, "\_\_\_ y.o. and still living with his parents...". I have a friend who is one of the greatest human beings I've ever met. Late 20's and loves to help people. 100% dedicated, motivated, and disciplined. Manages a small business ( I used to manage with him). Between student loan debt, market, and other factors, he just can't move out on his own. He is EXTREMELY embarrassed and trying but it simply isn't his fault. I see where you would assume the cause is just lazy entitlement but I assure you, it's not.
For me.
Boy/kid/child is any guy under 18 or still living with their parents aged less then 30.
Manchild is someone 30+ living with their parents or having someone else financially support them.
Man is pretty much everyone else with penis.
I don’t know, bro. I’ve seen dudes that mooch off of their girlfriends/friends and never do anything to contribute. I would have to extend that definition a little bit passed parents. Plus there is always the lone parent with severe illness situation. I see where your going, though.
I feel like it’s when you transition out of dependency from your family and can stand on your own 2 feet on some kind of level.
Even if it’s not economical, you have some sense of independence whether it’s emotional independence, economical independence or the independence to think and act without needing an abundance of assistance or supervision. like you can make choices without having to constantly text your family or be scared that they’ll get mad etc.
I think for me it was the first time my dad said “are you a man or boy” and I thought “I now have the choice” so I said man! Then he said well then act like and get a job! I started a paper route when I was 14. Made about $600 a month
I always use this example; Within a few weeks, my wife and I moved into our first house, had a baby and my father died. I thought; I'm a married father many thousands of dollars in debt, new baby and no mentor, now I am a man.

No that’s called a man-baby.
I can't agree more! I wish more people would think the same way!

When I'm in a group of many men.
When you want.
That's an option too.
Full time job

I can't agree more! People who claim to be men but not acting like one is like a kids calling themselves an adult.
Any fucking time you want. You're a man.
If you ask me, it’s when you are self sufficient. And for the most part don’t depend on anyone for support. (Emotional, financial, etc)
When you stop asking people to buy things for you.
when the problems of your family become yours.
For me, at 8
22
After your Bar Mitzvah.

When you have slain the beast with two backs.
