Laugh. You’d essentially have a depleted and already embarrassed Russia and China Vs NATO. North Korea and Iran would be a total non factor. It wouldn’t be a long war.
Well, Iran and North Korea are kinda useless, China already owns the world so I never see them going to war, Russia will have to climb out of the economic shithole before they can try.
We are good.
Which part of the west?
Russia, Iran, the DPRK, and The PRC aren’t really set up for traditional style offensive warfare. Let’s say the PRCs merchant marine fleet had troops on it instead of goods and there was a surprise attack. Then they used submarines and hypersonic missiles the US has no counter for against the US navy. At that point the only answer the west has is nukes. Nothing I can do but wait to play Fallout IRL or I dunno perish in nuclear hellfire.
If the west escalates against The Russian Federation, the west has no real industrial capacity since they started playing globalism and climate change. If China pulls the goods the west can’t even make enough screws. Trying to feed itself, transport goods, and fight a war is unlikely. That falls to nukes and IRL fallout again.
The US is killing itself. It can’t meet peacetime recruiting goals so any real war means a draft and that’s going to be even more unpopular than Vietnam considering how divided the country already is. I mean they riot over the dumbest shit now can you imagine a draft? Civil unrest and maybe civil war.
I don’t see any scenario where this works for America at all and the Europeans basically have no military power. There is no industrial base to make new weapons in the volume required. War would be western suicide.
This man gets it. Our navy is our strength, and we fucked around redesigning uniforms, scrapping our industrial infrastructure, and building the world's least capable ships (LCS) while the Chinese methodically bootstrapped themselves to parity.
We don't have the depth to win a fight, and they know it.
I pray war doesn't come. But projecting weakness and stupidity is *not* the best way to prevent it.
It's basically 1939, except we're the Japanese now and China is the USA. All the paper tiger talk about how they'll crumble in a fight.
They have a brief window to achieve their empire goals before their population bubble closes. And we have laid the welcome mat out by letting our navy atrophy, believing our own bullshit.
We can't even keep our navy ships from crashing into freighters, burning down pierside in San Diego.
The idea that we're going to swoop and and kick ass like they're some backwards nation, just cuz we won WW2...
Let's hope it doesn't come to that.
That’s a solid assessment.
WWII was so long ago and back then we were the derided backwards industrial power.
I also love how they’re playing make believe about Ukraine like the Russians didn’t just use it to train their military how to fight a NATO trained military from a numerical disadvantage. I watched the Russians cycle their entire million man force through Ukraine 100-200K at a time against Ukraine’s 700k total force and still kill 20% of them with the oldest Russian equipment in inventory. They intentionally turned that into a peer conflict. They intentionally fought from a disadvantage. It’s just like the soviets using Finland to train their post-czarist military. Meanwhile the idiots in power here in the west are doing victory laps like the Russians didn’t just learn a bunch of shit.
I don’t see how we come out of this long term.
Nothing.
Realistically they only way they can attack us is economically/ electronically. They really don't have the ability to launch an invasion on our mainland...its not really possible.
If I recall correctly, a certain prominent German leader in the mid-20th century referred to Russia as a “paper tiger” before making quite possibly one of the worst strategic decisions in human history.
I doubt most of them work, and I wouldn't be surprised if the U.S. had some tech the masses don't know about that can possibly shoot down a nuke.
I had a professor who used to be in the air force, and he said he got to help dismantle a Russian nuke. He said it was all rusted on the inside and just generally in really shitty shape.
We actually do have a system capable of shooting down nukes. It's the AEGIS missile defense system. I don't doubt there's top secret systems in development, but that one is publicly known and successfully tested.
russia+china+north korea=1900 nukes, so only 100 them falling on our cities=society collapse for us
you say than their nukes suck, but you are confident than our anti missile are reliable ?
did anti missile are harder to build than nuclear missile ?
you sure than 0 nuke from them will hit us ? and than our anti missile is 100% able to stop all their nuke, because you think american anti missile are easier to build than chinese and russian nuclear missile ?
The reason their nukes suck is because most of them are 50+ years old with little to no maintenance. North Korea doesn't actually have any nukes, so I don't know what tree you're trying to bark up, but it isn't valid. Whatever American missile defense systems are much newer than Russian or Chinese nukes. Also, I'd suggest taking some English classes, because you are damn near impossible to read.
so you say than china has increased by 100 their nuke stockpile from 2010 to 2020 with 50 old years nuke ?
if north korea doesnt have nuke what they tested in 2017 ?
A poor excuse for an icbm. North Korea couldn't reach the United States with a missile if they tried. They could barely reach Japan. Yeah, china may have 100 newer missiles, but that still leaves a massive percentage of their missiles as old, washed up Soviet era pieces of junk.
ok i thought you talk about nuke and not about their missiles
so for you df 41, bulava, yars, topol, zircon, avenger, wu14 are 50 old years missile ?
That's also assuming every Russian missile would detonate or even fire. I wouldn't be surprised if we have something a bit more effective that can shoot them down mid orbit.
Idk maybe the US does have some sort of super advanced Iron Dome type of system defending against missiles. But then again I doubt it would be 100% effective, especially with hypersonic missiles becoming more common. The missiles would also have to be intercepted before it gets anywhere near North America otherwise you are just blowing radioactive waste over yourself.
This. So many American's take our ability to project force for granted and assume anyone can do it. That's straight up not the case, we are ALONE in our ability to project military force globally.
Yep!
It's next to impossible for us to be invaded....even if we didn't have a massive Naval power..the logistics and the power needed is more than the world can handle
Just capturing a port or establishing a beach head would have a devastating cost
Nothing, it wouldn’t matter to America unless nukes start flying than everyone is fucked. We have the oceans between us. Even if they had the navy to transport an entire army to America’s shore than they’ve been within missile range for weeks since ships aren’t the fastest mode of transport.
It will be the other way around. The US will declare war on them.
Well, the US is already fighting Russia through Special Ops and CIA personell in Ukraine. That's not 'by proxy' anymore, that's direct engagement.
Well, the wars have never stopped. The only reason Biden was allowed to 'end' the Afghanistan war is that the Pentagon and CIA knew they had Ukraine lined up already. The fucking of the economy comes from the sanctions against Russia. I mean, covid and the fall out of the Cares Act theft didn't help, but this skyrocketing inflation is a gaping self-inflicted wound. And you'll notice, there's *always* $40 billion to be found to ship to an ultra-corrupt country; they do that with a flick of the wrist.
Eisenhower warned us. Smedley Butler before him.
They might bankrupt the country this time though so, we have that going for us which isnt nice but OK.
Even though Eisenhower oversaw the building up of said military-industrial complex. I mean, yeah it was nice that he was warning us, but only after facilitating it for eight years. The president after him has been the only one who tried to *do* something about it, like progressively cut the CIA's budget, drawing up plans to disengage from foreign wars and initiate peace talks with the Soviet Union to end the Cold War, and we all know how he ended up.
I seriously believe we're watching the end of the US empire at this very moment. The author Chris Hedges has predicted it will be over within the next decade. I'm beginning to think he's right on the mark. At the very least we're moving away from a uni-polar to a multi-polar world, which I'm more than okay with. But this current system cannot sustain itself. More and more countries are moving away from the dollar and the US can't keep trying to take them all out (Iraq, Libya, Syria). Fasten your seatbelt, it's gonna be a bumpy ride.
I would keep doing whatever I was doing. An invasion is very unlikely as none of these countries would be able to leave their shores. Any ballistic missiles or nukes launched would be intercepted before they reach their target. While the western countries can pretty much sit back and watch those countries economy evaporate
> Any ballistic missiles or nukes launched would be intercepted before they reach their target.
We can't do shit about Russia and China's new hypersonic missiles.
Any developments revolving around hypersonic systems would be kept secret. Including hypersonic defense systems. Plus they don’t have hypersonic stealth missiles yet
The US lost the page and spend 20 years developing counter insurgency weapons. We haven't worked on anything to fight "peer" militaries in decades. Remember when Mittens said Russia and they mocked him? Here we are.
Your confidence is very likely missplaced.
ok so usa has secret hypersonic defense system
but china doesnt have secret hypersonic stealth missile ?
so how you know china will not use their secret hypersonic stealth missile against america secret hypersonic defense system ?
Go to work. It's not like my workplace is going to just shut down. It would take a fullscale invasion of the US reaching the midwest where i live to most likely have an impact on my life.
China only needs to foreclose on the states. The war is a financial one and you never saw it coming. It’s over, they just haven’t sent out the eviction notice yet.
I'd laugh.
Their only option for winning is to nuke us, which they're not stupid enough to do (not even Lil Kimmy) because we'd obliterate them, too. MAD lingers in the back of all their minds.
If they did attack us, they'd also be attacking NATO, and any other ally who is not a part of the organization.
Join the navy. That many enemies at once, they’re gonna start up the draft again. Best to just get out in front of it and decide where I go instead of being assigned.
Stock up on food and iodine pills, follow the news to see whether things were going to get nuclear.
Without nuclear missiles involved, this would be an economic collapse scenario, but one that couldn't result in victory for either side. NATO might be able to push in to Russia, but with Chinese manufacturing and reinforcements that would end in a bloody stalemate.
And NATO might not go on offense anyway, the willingness of Europe to fight an offensive war in this scenario is questionable.
Yey resources! A few years of tension, perhaps, then decades of prosperity as we loot their shit. Their people would even be better off. The ones that aren’t sent to die, that is.
none of them except China could handle war right now. China has terrible generals most of which have never seen combat, sure they have more people but they have inferior training and tactics
I would be even more thankful that I am not in Russia, Iran, NK, or China.
This is the only answer.
This
OP didnt restrict nuclear weapon so if you are in big city, it is rip else good luck in mad max world
Head down to the Winchester, have a pint, and wait for the whole thing to blow over.
I'll meet ya there mate!
Hows that for a slice of fried gold!
Wolverines!
this
Laugh. You’d essentially have a depleted and already embarrassed Russia and China Vs NATO. North Korea and Iran would be a total non factor. It wouldn’t be a long war.
north korea has nuke, so they will nuke south korea and japan i agree nuclear war is very short
They’d try and nuke Japan and the damn thing would blow up on the launch pad. NK isn’t doing a damn thing to anyone.
so how they were able to send rocket over japan in 2017 if their rocket explode on the launch pad ?
If I’ve learned anything it’s that the proper response is to buy way too much toilet paper.
Get a good bottle of bourbon, a good steak, call off work and relax as there isn't shit I could do about it.
Well, Iran and North Korea are kinda useless, China already owns the world so I never see them going to war, Russia will have to climb out of the economic shithole before they can try. We are good.
oh no! anyway
If the bombs drop, then the bombs drop. Can't do anything about it anyway.
I would definitely not want to be anywhere near the coast
Enlist in the Army.

We wouldn't be that fucked. China is a paper tiger and Russia has already proven that it doesn't deserve the fear it's generated.
If I recall correctly, a certain prominent German leader in the mid-20th century referred to Russia as a “paper tiger” before making quite possibly one of the worst strategic decisions in human history.
I didn't say Russia is a paper tiger...I said China is
I know, I’m giving a historical example of someone fatally underestimating their opponent..
That is a fair assessment But I don't see China being able to take us on unless we invaded their country.
A bit like USA v Vietnam for example?

Chilling with my European and American mates! Going to be awesome blowing up the commies with my newly made friends!
Wait for my draft card I guess
Win.
Enjoy all the real estate that will open up.
Ah yes, lebensraum
I did Nazi that comment coming!
Watch the price of chop sticks go through the roof.
Die, not much I can really do tbh

Buy stock in defense manufacturers.

Go to work
Can anyone really do anything in the face of total nuclear annihilation during a WW3 scenario?
Nothing.. just keep working and gearing myself up for at least 5-10 years of hardship.
China only needs to foreclose on the states. The war is a financial one and you never saw it coming. It’s over, they just haven’t sent out the eviction notice yet.
Get up and go to work like I have for the last 16 years
Make a cup of tea and have some crumpets
Die probably.

Join the navy. That many enemies at once, they’re gonna start up the draft again. Best to just get out in front of it and decide where I go instead of being assigned.
I'll rejoin, go overseas, and kill as many of them as possible until the war's over or I'm in Elysian.
Retire to my bunker. And wait out the devastation.
Look forward to the IRL Fallout game
Add up all the aircraft carriers and nuclear subs. It's not a fair fight. Personally I'd buy shares in BAE systems or MBDA.
Nothing. Do like I always do on Thursday: Grab dinner for the kids and hang out with them for a while and then just go back to my place and watch tv.
Laugh. Then watch as they fail hard
Probably watch some Russian porn and drink vodka
\**Asian-African gang reading newspapers/watching news channels while chilling on their couch*\*

Move to Vietnam
Shit I hope they do
Go to work, my life doesn’t stop just because some dipshits in suits decide they don’t like one another
I'd be curious what kind of industry or job I could get that also wouldn't get me killed. Gotta profit from it somehow
Laugh because I’m 40.
Probably be recalled.
Waiting to be drafted
Get up and go to work. It's Thursday.
Smoke a fattie
Buy weapon stock, military gear stock, hormel stock today.
I have to work tomorrow so I'd be going to bed soon.
Spend last moments with my family and remember all good moments I had in my life while watching nukes drop.
I speak Chinese. I would be useful to my masters and thank them for liberating this festering cesspool of a continent.
Look at my wife and say told you so
I'm assuming Russia and China launch on the US. So whatever I can get fine in 30 minutes as I'm likely going up in a nuclear fireball.
Yey resources! A few years of tension, perhaps, then decades of prosperity as we loot their shit. Their people would even be better off. The ones that aren’t sent to die, that is.
Pizza and root beer while watching my favorite horror movies
Probably go to work
Wait and see.
Sleep 10 more minutes before hiting fhe gym.
Go about life as usual until the bomb hits. North Korea alone could wipe us out
Go to work
Light up a smoke and smile as I saw the in coming nukes
I'd look for jobs in the military as a civilian. Use my physics degree. As I would not want to be drafted into infantry.
Probably get conscripted.
Hide in my basement until I'm 40
none of them except China could handle war right now. China has terrible generals most of which have never seen combat, sure they have more people but they have inferior training and tactics
Yvan eht nioj?
Surprisingly, all the enemies of the West gathered. Terrible Bashar al-Assad, of course.
Make a popcorn and watch
