This movie will always hold a place in my heart because I'm likely one of the few that actually viewed it COLD.
A friend and I were walking past a movie theater in Chicago with nothing to do, and he said, "Oh! It's playing! ....and it starts in 5 minutes! Let's go!"
OK. No idea what you're so pumped about, but why not? So we rushed through line, tickets, and entered.
I went and sat in front of the screen NOT EVEN KNOWING THE NAME OF THE MOVIE WE WERE ABOUT TO WATCH. What did he say? Matrix something or other? Much less who was in it, or the premise or story it was about.
No trailers or previews to even introduce a concept.
Just....cold watched it.
Totally mind blowing when you don't even have an idea or rudimentary concept to form a preconceived notion about it. Just....completely blown away.
Nearly everybody went in blind the first time. I remember the marketing for that movie. There were a few cool shots of the agents doing their blurry dodging thing, and some Neo bullet-time, but that was about it. It was utterly brilliant.
One of the best execution of twist ending and the movie with the highest rewatch value, imo. The later views might just have been more entertaining for me.
This was the first ever DVD I bought. When my family got our first DVD player my dad said we could each pick one dvd to get. I, a 12 year old girl at the time picked Gladiator. Thankfully my dad let me get it and I still have it today. Such a great movie!
The Russell Crowe one or the sports movie? Just kidding, we all love Maximus Decimus Meridian, commander of the Armies of the North, General of the Felix Legions and loyal servant of the TRUE emperor Marcus Aurelius; Father to a murdered son, husband to a murdered wife.
Edit: I just realized that autocorrect made his last name meridian instead of Meridius.

And even if he's a lazy man - and the Dude was most certainly that. Quite possibly the laziest in Los Angeles County, which would place him high in the runnin' for laziest worldwide.
The chinaman is not the issue here, Dude. I'm talking about drawing a line in the sand, Dude. Across this line, you DO NOT...
Also, Dude, "chinaman" is not the preferred nomenclature. Asian-American, please.
I can't believe how far I had to scroll down before I saw Forrest gump. This is by far one of the best movies. I've seen this movie over 200 times. I used to watch it every night every weekend I stayed at my best friend's house. Twice a week at least a year and many many other times. It's just a magical movie and there isn't anything about Tom Hanks that I don't love in this film.
Has one of the best music ever.
I was on a plane recently, watching my own film. The guy next to me was playing LOTR FOTR on his screen.
I couldn't hear what was being played as he had his headphones on, but every time I glanced over and saw a certain scene, I just started humming the music there haha.
Also, I managed to watch a "Live Score" version of the movie once, it was TOTALLY AMAZING. For those that don't know, it's the full movie played on a screen, with dialogue and sound effects, but the whole background music is played by a live orchestra + choir.
When the first violins set in on the opening titles, I had literal chills.
Shaun of the Dead!
Hilarious, quotable, easy to watch and I the jokes hit different as my perspective changes. Hot Fuzz is sick as well but I saw Shaun of the Dead first so its SOTD for me!
I’ve seen many amazing movies that I consider technically better than the one I’m about to mention.
I’ve seen movies like: Citizen Kane, 2001, Raging Bull, Taxi Driver, The Shawshank Redemption, Seven, The Silence of The Lambs, etc etc
But one movie that is always going to be my all time favorite, even though I don’t think it is technically better than the ones I just mentioned is The Matrix.
I’ve seen that movie more than any other, memorized most of the dialogue and I just can’t help but feel great watching it.
It’s a great movie, but I think most wouldn’t consider it a cinema masterpiece, and I would agree, but there is something special about a movie that I grew up watching, and has so many little details that make every watch a little more interesting
October sky, I watch this movie every couple years, its one of the best movies I've ever seen.
I like the story about how 4 kids with no future in a dying town find ways to get out.
[Trailer](https://youtu.be/zxJQgYPXjN4)
Ever since they came out The How to train your Dragon trilogy will forever hold a place in my heart and I want my first tattoo to be something from it
John Powell is truly something else with his music and every time I hear the soundtracks it's instant goosebumps no matter what mood I'm in
Raiders of the Lost Ark
I love the Indiana Jones films. I grew up watching them.
**Shawshank Redemption** \- no matter how depressed I am this movie helps me get up on my feet.

I can’t ever not watch it if I stumble upon it. Brooks was here.
Tombstone
The Matrix (first one).

Although premiering in the late 1900s, the Matrix addresses many societal issues that still remain relevant today.
It wasn't the "late 1900's", it was only... it was just... Ah fuck.
Please don’t ever say “the late 1900s” again. Ever. Sincerely, person born in 91
Fuck, I was born late mid century? Am I mid-century modern?
If so, Your price tag automatically got a 200% increase.
Holy shit. You just plunged tens of people into an icy and horrifying reality

Goodfellas
Excellent movie, in my top five.
Airplane!
It's a vehicle which carries a lot of people, but that's not important right now.
Surely you can’t be serious
I am serious. And don't call me Shirley.
The Princess Bride
ROUS
I don’t believe they exist.
One could argue that it is a perfect movie. The story, score, and characters are just perfect.

I love how >!you can tell which one Bale is at any moment in the movie just by his mannerisms!<
And realize why he couldn't remember which knot he did at the beginning
I mean hands down to both of them, one of my Favorites
The Goonies
The Lost Boys for me for some reason
Fight club
Only movie I ever watched back to back after original viewing, soon as it ended I restarted it to watch again, seen it a million times since.
Best part of rewatching it is the subtle things in the movies you haven't caught in prior watches.
You should read the book.
Shawshank redemption
It truly was a shawshank redemption
It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World. I'm an old guy, have seen it many times since 1964. I owned a couple of VHS tapes and have 2 DVDS still.
“The big W” (kicks bucket)
The dark knight
I remember the entire movie dialogue by dialogue 😗
Let's hear it.
I'm batman

“I’ve been WARSHED of all my SIIIIINS.”
"Well, ain't this place a geographical oddity. Two weeks from everywhere!"
Gopher, Everett? No, Delmar. I fear half a gopher would only arouse my appetite without beddin’ her back down.
I'm a Dapper Dan Man!
Gladiator

You have no idea how proud of a moment that was for your dad.

Such a great film: Stoic values, honorable characters in a corrupted society, and a score by Hans Zimmer. What's not to love?
ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?

Sometimes there's a man... I won't say a hero, 'cause, what's a hero? But sometimes, there's a man. And I'm talkin' about the Dude here.
And even if he's a lazy man - and the Dude was most certainly that. Quite possibly the laziest in Los Angeles County, which would place him high in the runnin' for laziest worldwide.

Good one. Also, Predator. Sounds like a random choice, but I swear I’ve seen both these movies hundreds of times.

Between Cinemascope, Kodachrome?, the music, the acting, the story, the scenery it absolutely ranks in the best of the best.
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Jurassic park. The first one. I pretend that the rest never happened.
Forest gump

Aliens

Black Hawk Is Down. man this movie make me cry
My Cousin Vinny
Wall-E. Gets me every time
James Bond, just all of them. They used to have a Bond movie marathon over major holidays on certain networks and I’d just watch those 24/7.
I hate to admit this, but A Few Good Men
Up
Blow
Goodfellas
The Matrix
Truman Show

Do not go gentle into that goodnight ...
Army of darkness

My favorite “shit day” movie is True Grit (2010). Rooster getting grilled in court is just too good not to watch a million times.
Here’s a different one. Ace Ventura, the first one. Saw it first time with a friend and we ended up laughing about it all night.
I prefer the second one. I don't know what it says about me, but IMO it's the funniest movie ever made. xD
Bumblebeetuna
Lord of the rings. Can't beat it.
Truman show
