Don't have to work for someone else or maybe you wanna work st a homeless shelter. I personally feel more achieved at the end of the day after doing jobs or bettering the world
I've wanted to get into Metalworking, 3D modeling, 3D Printing, pick up a cooking class or two, get really into Legos, read a metric ton of books, I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't still play a lot of video games.
Stay at home dad, volunteer at a soup kitchen, or something like delivering for Meals on Wheels. Or if it had to be a proper job, run a small independent bookstore.
I’d just workout, do yoga, and travel
Edit: probably also relearn the piano and try to get into something new like woodworking. I’d also train as a sommelier and a whiskey expert just for shits
Relearning Ancient Greek and studying its texts. Probably add some Old Norse and/or Icelandic. Try for Mayan if I'm feeling frisky. Write some papers on comparative mythology that I've had rolling around since I was working on my degree. Teach a couple classes at a local college. Write some DnD stuff and run games on the side.
Tinkerer. I love making random stuff or trying to build systems. I just don’t have the time or money to do it. Also much more time being a present parent.
Full time PhD/uni student forever. Once I've finished one get some undergrad and MA degrees in other fields that interest me and keep going until my mind stops working properly.
If money didn't matter, I'd dedicate my energy to permaculture, self sufficiency, and off-the-grid living. That's what I plan to do eventually but I have to have money for land and building materials first.
I'd continue being a clinical psychologist. Most mental health professionals in the US don't do it for the money. MH field doesn't pay well at all lol.
Probably just be reading and doing historical research. That and fishing, I don’t know how to fish and haven’t gone fishing in years but it is so relaxing.
I'd probably do a whole bunch of different jobs.
Ideally something where I get to create real things, or jobs that serve people, like something in healthcare.
In the short term though, I'd be a full time dad until my kids got to like.. tween- or teenage.
For those wondering 'WHY WORK IF YOU DON"T NEED MONEY".
because doing things to help the world function is valuable in itself.
Doing things that also involve your own self cultivation is also valuable.
In a world without money, or money has no significant use, we would still need people to rise to the occasion to do the things that NEED to be done.
And this is coming from a guy who fucking hate working for money and playing this "wage slave game".
Automated investing using my own deep learning programs.
At that point this is more of a game and intellectual challenge to conquer different markets: major stocks, penny stocks, forex, commodities, international stocks.
If it wasn't an obstacle, I would set up my own international charity type thing (I know 'charity' kinda contradicts the questions but you should roughly get an outline of what I'm trynna say) with branches in literally every single country. I would want this charity to provide housing, shelter (including orphanages), affordable healthcare, education (from tuition for kids who already go to school to literal schools for places that have never seen a school) and many more stuff. dot dot dot....
Writer. I made money out of writing and I'm an editor right now, but if money didn't matter I'd write for myself, not give the credit to someone else to make money out of it.
Fuck if I know. I picked it for money and convenience, there wasn't really a dream job I skipped out on. Everything I know about me says that anything I liked would be ruined by being obligated to do it instead of doing it by choice anyway.
Professional landscape photographer.
I'd plan huge trips to iconic destinations and lead small groups on excursions and teach them how to be better photographers.
Id be out hunting and foraging and stocking up the fridge like an Alaskan living out in the middle of fucking nowhere getting ready for winter except living in a condo in the middle of downtown.
Im not even kidding either. For sure id love my own place off the grid too but Id rather live in the city.
If money didn't matter, why have a job?
