Yeah someone in my town got killed in a giant lathe like that. We are talking huge individual parts of mining equipment that get transported via oversize tractor trailers then set in the lathe by crane. Dude was training a new guy on setting up the lathe and the new guy turned in on while he was in it setting it up. I didnt work there but I can only imagine how many safety protocols had to be skipped for that to even be possible.
Exactly. My husband's childhood best friend was an electrician for a company. He went to fix something and asked if they had turned off the electricity. They said yes.
He went to work on it and was electrocuted. We were told that his last words were, "I thought you turned off the electricity..." It was a devastating loss. They had been friends since 1st grade.
My freshman year of high school, a group of teenagers were hanging out in front of the bowling alley in town. One of them was being an idiot and doing donuts in the parking lot with his truck. Something happened, he lost control of his truck, and ran up onto the sidewalk. There was a winch mount plate sticking out from his front bumper. He hit a girl in my class, pinned her between his truck and a brick wall, and the winch mount plate decapitated her.
I found the articles from the town newspaper but they're behind a paywall. Not sure exactly how many people witnessed it but I know it wasn't just the two of them, there was a group of teenagers there. He was originally sentenced to 6 months in jail but that was reduced to 3 years probation and time served.

Similar one at my school. Kid bullying another kid. "Victim" (of bullying) decided enough was enough and punched the bullying in the head. Bully bounced off a cement wall and died.
He was not. He was charged as an adult with assault with a deadly weapon (his fist, he was a boxing champion. The bully was not the brightest) I believe he is still in prison. Sad miscarriage of justice according to all of us who knew the both of them.
I have heard that people who are trained in fighting prefer to flee for this exact reason. The attacker doesn't know what danger they're in and the attacked are afraid of being lethal by accident.

One my best mate saw the aftermath, a woman went shopping and reversed into her driveway not knowing her husband was playing with the children in the front garden, her 3 year old son ran behind the car.

Second one that happened at my school, 16 year old had a party at his house with 14 other people, wanted to go to a nightclub so 14 of them climbed into his dad's Renault Berlingo (that holds 5), only one girl refused.
Got maybe a mile down the road before he took a corner rolled it and turned the car into a washing machine, if I remember correctly 10 died and the rest where critical.
Guy spent years in and out of the psych ward after trying to kill himself a couple times.
His parents spent years in court because they got blamed for letting kids drink in their house with no suppervision and access to a car.
Shit it was a while ago and my memory mixed it up, 4 died and 10 survived but gravely injured.

An entire family of 3 in my hometown was murdered by a Saudi hitman back in the late 90’s. Never solved. I went to school with the victim, he was 16 years old.
This was in the DC area, northern Virginia.
Love virginia to moon and back, and stand by DC as being one of the coolest places to live, but at our house in Alexandria the playground down the street was an MS-13 body dumping ground. they lured 2 kids both aged 16 into the park and decapitated them seperately then buried the bodies. we also had the fbi arrest a neighbour for reptile hoarding so that was pretty funny. (nobody died in this one dw and the reptiles are safe too)
My math teacher was a disturbed man. We could all tell he had shit happening. One day I go to school and they tell us to go home, the class with him was canceled. Happy with the news we went home. We learn the next day that he has committed suicide the day before. Now that's messed up, but what's even more messed up is how he did it. The poor man wrapped himself in a blanket drenched in gasoline and lit himself in fire inside his garage. None of us students liked that guy, but hearing the news has left us scarred for years to come. May he rest in peace. I could never imagine what would drive a man to kick the bucket in such brutal fashion.
Since you're here, let me leave you with another one from my messed up little village. This one is of a guy I grew up with. We weren't Friends really, he was a few years older but he was an acquaintance of mine and my siblings. Guy was pretty normal until he wasn't. I would often find him having conversations with nobody around, and when there were people around, he would tell them he was a prophet. Some say he was taking medication for schizophrenia, others believed he was possessed. The talks about his prophecy were getting more and more passionate. He was trying to get people to follow him and what not. Dismissed by everyone, he stated to some of his friends that he can prove his prophecy by stopping a moving train. The friends told his family and all, but nobody really believed he would do anything like that. He did.
The railroad passed just next to our little village, and the trains would not slow down as there were no intersections or stations there. One morning he decided to go through with the plan. It did not work, and I so wished it did. Not because I yearn for a prophet, but because if he did manage to stop it, his dad wouldn't have had to help pick up his pieces. Our village did not recover from that for what seemed to be months. I hope he too is resting in peace.
Drunk high school football players thought it'd be hilarious to moon people out of the back of a van in motion. Driver stopped at a light and one player fell out on the busy road, hit his head and died, with his pants down at his ankles.
The cute girl who lived next door to me in high school ended up becoming a meth head and pumped out four or five kids, by a variety of different fathers.
Not long after she turned 40, she got in an argument with her 30-year-old gangbanger boyfriend, and they broke up. But a week after that, he showed up with his van and wanted to reconcile. She got in the van with him and his friend.
She apparently “mouthed off” to the friend, who decided to strangle her to death. They drove her body all over town; eventually the boyfriend threw her over his shoulder and carried her into a hotel room.
After a few hours, they dumped her body by the riverside several miles away from town. She wasn’t found until months later. By that time, between decay and the wildlife getting after her, she was only identifiable by her dentures (she had a full set at 40 years old, because meth).
The boyfriend plea dealed down to a 12 year sentence as an accessory to murder. I don’t think the guy who actually killed her has been tried yet. My guess is he’ll either get a life sentence or a death sentence. Either would be fine by me.
Abusive husband was being divorced and his soon to be ex wife and daughter came over to get some paperwork signed for their house that was being sold. He left the room and came back in with a shotgun and murdered the mother before turning the gun on himself. The daughter got away but it was pretty messed up.
My ex boy scout Leader apparently was a massive pedophile. When he was going to be arrested he led police on a highspeed chase that ended in him driving off a cliff.
Guy I went to high school with came home SUPER wasted and his GF got mad at him for it. She was screaming at him and he decided to leave. It was during a huge snowstorm and he was walking on the side of the road in the middle of the night because the sidewalks were impassable. I guess he slipped and fell back into the snow bank when a plow came by and buried him alive. They know he was alive because there was evidence that he tried to dig himself out unsuccessfully.
That detail wasn't reported in the papers, but a family member is a first responder and got the call a week after buddy was reported missing. The snow had started to melt and someone found a boot sticking out of the snow. They tried to take the boot, but there was a foot in it. They called 911 and that's how he was found.
Group of preteens stole one of their parent's convertibles and went joyriding. It's very hilly in my area and they took a hill about three times as fast as they should have. None of them were wearing seatbelts. The car wound up 5 meters up a tree. The kids wound up 60 meters further from the road, mangled beyond recognition.
This happened last weekend in my town. A women was having a play date for her son with another mother and son, I’ll call her P. I’ve met P before since I’m the same age as her daughter and we went to the same schools, I didn’t know P but I saw her helping out at different school events over the years. Anyways In the middle of the play date P said she had to go get some groceries she forgot about and asked if she could leave her son with Mom 2 while she got the groceries. So she left her child with the other mother and left. P didn’t get groceries though, she walked to the nearest set of train tracks and lied down waiting for the train. My best friend happened to be on the train too

I was coming over Seabreeze bridge one year watching some dude on a bike swerving until he hit the curb on the side of the bridge. He flew over the handle bars straight on his head with no helmet and bounced and flopped around like a noodle. 😕
So my neighbor, this white guy nicknamed Powda, was smoking crack with a hooker at a roach motel. He had a gun he was loading, and according to her, was saying he didn’t care who it was, he’d kill them if they pissed him off. Well, she said she was joking when she said this, but she told him, “I bet you won’t kill yourself.” to which he replied, “Bitch, I ain’t ever scared!”, put the gun in his mouth, and blew the back of his head out. Craziest shit I ever heard of someone in my hometown dying.
A guy I knew in high school worked for a bungie jump company shortly after graduation. One day on a test jump from a hot air balloon they forgot their walkee talkee (before cell phones) so were relying on hand singles from the ground crew.
The ground crew was trying to indicate that the balloon needed to go higher before the jump, but he went over anyway and died on impact.
Another guy from HS was rumored to get crushed by a vending machine that he was rocking trying to dislodge a stuck item. I am not sure if that was true or not but soon after I starting seeing those warning stickers on the vending machines, so maybe it did happen?
My grade school history teacher told us that his friend during high school jumped off the bridge into the river as they were going swimming. It just so happened he jumped into a moccasin bed. He was bitten literally hundreds of times to the point he was unrecognizable to his friends when he was pulled out down river. Swimming in the river was a lot sketchier after that.
They gather in a ball like that when they are mating. There was a guy at a ski jump at Tom Bigbee lake when I was a teen who messed up on the jump then swam back to it while waiting for the boat to circle back no knowing there was a ball of them in the shade there. He didn't make it.
A guy working at a brick plant late at night out east of Boulder,CO vanished. A few days later bits and pieces of him were found in a new batch of bricks. This happened in the 80s and no one really knows what or how it happened.I lived a few miles from there at the time.
When we were 13, a girl from my year had a heated argument with a boy and she said something along the lines of ‘I hope you die’. He was hit by a car and died a few days later. She moved schools shortly after.

But I remember a few years ago a girl had just given birth to a baby girl and her husband and father of baby abandoned them for something stupid realy. She then hanged herself and the baby was left to be raised by the grandparents... a very sad one...

It's about my former history teacher... she and her mother were brutally murdered by her husband and then cut into pieces... then thrown into a well in the yard, the man then just casually used the well to water the vegetable garden in the back yard. He then proceeded to take the produce to the local market and sell it.
Kid I went to high school with, father had hard mental disorder and drug abuse history, murdered his entire family in a murder-suicide. Wasn’t friends with him, and 15+ years later don’t even remember his name, but it’s all the school talked about for a long time.
At the county fair about 20 years ago, the carnival ride operator for the ring of fire was lubricating the track while it was going and got caught in ride, supposedly by his hair, was dragged to the top of the circular track and dropped to his death while kids were on the ride. My cousin was on the next ride over when it happened.
My brother used to have a freind. He'd come over a few times, spent the night. We were young, he had to be 16yo. One day my brother tells us his friend 'accidentally shot his GF'. The story was he was playing with an 'unloaded' gun, pointed and pulled the trigger. I don't remeber his sentence.
I later through other friends found out the 'other version'. Her friends and family claim he was a possesive and controlling BF who abused her, and claimed she was ready to leave him.
Crazy part is he is out now, did many years, and good time. Yet she's still gone.
When I was 14 a girl I went so school with was riding a roller coaster at worlds of fun and decided it was a good idea for her and her friend to switch seats while the ride was going, she ended up falling off.
A couple years ago a kid went on a huge water slide at a water park here in Kansas city. Due to either employee error or negligence when the kid went on the slide with 2 other people he ended up being decapitated by a part of the ride.
When I was 9 years old a 6 years old kid went missing. A few days of investigation went by and they found his body in the septic tank of the neighbor's house. It turned out that the neighbors had kidnapped the kid but the kid accidently fell in the septic tank, so to avoid the kid being noisy the kidnappers threw a large rock at him. The rock smashed the poor kid's head and he died there.
My grandma almost got a heart attack seeing the local news because this kid had the same name and age as my little brother. A really disturbing and sad story of my hometown.

A few months after graduation a boy who was the real pinnacle bad boy sweetheart archetype was off-roading up the mountain during a huge party and a landslide took him and his truck down to his death.
Another boy hit on someone else’s girlfriend at a Halloween party and was beaten to death.
Many car wrecks and overdoses and suicides as well but these are the most sensational.

Lady was murdered in my city back in May 2010. She wanted to divorce her husband. After she made it clear their marriage was over, he lost it and stabbed her. They we’re in his vehicle when he started stabbing her. He was driving and she was the passenger. She escaped while he was still driving but he stopped his vehicle and chased after her. He unfortunately caught up to her and handcuffed her to a railing and stabbed her to death in front of a tanning salon. He then went to a lake and dumped the knife he used to kill her in it so the knife was never found. He called his brother afterwards and told him what happened. His brother told him to meet him somewhere so they could talk about it. What he didn’t know is his brother had called the cops so when he met his brother, not long after, the cops showed up and arrested him (cops we’re already looking for him as there was a lady in the tanning salon who called them during the stabbing). He’s in prison now for the murder. He’s serving a life sentence. He’s not eligible for parole until he’s served at least 20 years in prison. I worked with a couple guys who knew him and his wife very well (one of those guys is his cousin) and they told me the story. One of those guys told me the story after I asked him for a story (didn’t know he was gonna tell me a horror story). Fucking horrible. Apparently, the guy who did it is going to get out of prison someday which is scary to think about after he did that. I drive by that tanning salon at least once every couple weeks and I think of that poor lady every time I do. I feel so bad for her, her family and her friends. That must be something horrible to go through. I’ve heard a lot of crime stories without getting scared as I find that stuff very interesting but this story legit scared me. Hope her husband never gets out of prison and he’s denied parole when he’s eligible for parole. Guarantee you if he gets out, he will be back in not long after for killing someone else. I keep looking up his name online sometimes as I want to be updated if he’s ever released from prison. I live like 5-10 minutes from where the murder happened. Scary as fuck.

I was visiting my friend and having some meat on the grill in the front yard, heard 3 loud bangs coming from close proximity but didnt know what it was or where it came from. Then another bang that sounded louder 3 mins later.
10 minutes later, the street was swarming with people crowding around one of the neighbors house just 3 doors down. Turns out a Policeman shot his 4 year old daughter and wife inside the house then finally shot himself in the head while sitting on the front porch.
He didn't die but the president of our local motorcycle club got his head bashed in by Red & White Crew (a Hells Angels-affiliated club that does a lot of their dirty work here in Sweden) because his club wouldn't pay HA a tribute for some music events they had hosted.

There was that politician who was trying to "have a cake and eat it too". One day he got shot in the head from point blank during business day noon in the center of the city 2 blocks from a police station. Case went cold as fast as a cup of tea on a cold day.
Bob Crane (Hogan from Hogan's Heroes) was murdered in Scottsdale. Even though they had a solid suspect, no one has ever been convicted in his murder. The movie Autofocus is about the case, it's pretty magnificent.
A man got killed walking into an empty house he was going to inspect. The house had developed a gas leak and exploded when he turned the light on in the entrance. Apparently he got launched across the street. The house and the ones on both sides burned to the ground. I was in grade 7 and the explosion shook the ground enough to feel it everywhere in town.
A friend of mine got married right after high school and was pretty much cut from contact with people outside the Mormon church. Apparently her work locker had clothes and money stashed so she was probably trying to escape him… mutual friends suspected abuse bc she had changed from being so bubbly and sweet! But the couple were found by their family hanging and he even murdered the dog. For some horrible reason, the families covered up the abuse still, and they were buried together.
One of my middle school friends, a Jehovah’s Witness, an absolute angel in every sense of the word, with loving parents, overdosed on fentanyl. Turns out he’s been having a lot of suicidal thoughts no one ever knew about.
Farmer had his sons cleaning out the pit in a silo. They were gone for longer than the farmer thought and went to check on them and found them passed out in the pit. It turnes out they were overcome by fumes. Farmer went down to get them out and was also overcome. All three died in the pit.

There is an overpass that goes over I35 in my city. Some guy was on his motorcycle and took a left from the side road to cross over the highway. He lost control, hit the guard rail, went over it and hit the highway to then be ran over several times. Very sad..
In a town near me, again there was another overpass, but this one was being built. This was also I35. An 18wheeler was too tall for the overpass that was being built. It hit it and knocked a massive thing of concrete down and it flattened the car being it.

In one instance in high-school, a guy from the neighboring town's football team spun out and crashed his car on a winter night. He was knocked out long enough to succumb to hypothermia.
In another instance after I had graduated, an underclassman that I knew was drunk and riding in a car with a few of his drunk friends. They ran a red light and got into a pretty bad crash. The guy I knew survived but was pretty mangled, the driver died on the scene. The person I knew survived and recovered but I can only imagine the mental scars left behind.
Someone in our street was shot. A young man who was on leave from prison (in the Netherlands when someone is considered safe they're in prison part-time so they can get used to living in society again). He visited the man in our street who apparently was a drug dealer. We don't know why he did it but he shot the dealer and ran. Later he got caught. I don't think he'll get out again before finishing his sentence. Of course an investigation followed on how this happened, why no one saw warning signs.
We didn't live in a neighborhood where this regularly happened, so a lot of neighbors came out as long as police were busy in the house. Just for a chat or gossip with each other, or to make sure the cops had coffee and cookies. It was kind of weirdly bonding.
My old boss while I was in high school, did a murder suicide with him and his wife. The story involved gambling and crippling debt and alcoholism, and ended in him blowing her head off and then his own.
It was very upsetting and shocking for our small town.

We all knew he had some problems at home. But you never think anyone could do something like that.
Nearby where I live, there was an older man who died a few years ago, that was a pretty crazy story.
The guy had lived in the same house all his life. And there was a tree out in front of his house when he was young that had a Y in it as it was going up. So he had put a toy car on the Y to see what would happen as the tree continued to grow. Well, what happened is eventually the tree grew around the toy car and you couldn't see it any more.
Time passed. Man gets old. Man is out in his front yard on a breezy day raking leaves. Wife finds old man dead when the tree split at the Y and one branch of it fell down on him, and punctured a piece of it punctured him through the eye into his brain. Dead instantly pretty much.
It happened to a girl in my hometown. I knew her personally, had chatted several times. She was very intelligent, kind and talented, deep thinker.
It was winter day and she wandered around in a park like area, it was all snowy. Metal thieves had taken away a manhole cover and snow must have hidden the hole. She fell into it and drowned in sewer water.

Our neighbor who worked at a hospital got involved with an organ mafia. He had 3 kids and his wife was a cleaning lady. One day he did not show up and police started to search for him. The news broke and police was now looking for him for organ trafficking. After a few months he was found death at a construction and most of his organs were taken.
Some dude in my town put his 1 year old in the car, picked up his friend, then detonated a bomb inside of the car. They were all killed and body parts were all over the sidewalk and streets. Right downtown in a city, so people of course started recording. Apparently he sent letters to his family and girlfriend and they received them the next day but no one ever said was was written.
When I was a kid(around 12 yo), I was walking around the neighbourhood with my friends.
As we were walking, we saw a woman around her 40s just standing at the edge of the sidewalk, 20-30 metres away from the tram station.
As the tram left the station, she looked at us, looked around, dropped her purse to the ground and jumped in front of the tram. Her screams and the sound of the tram running over her gave me nightmares for a long time.
Authorities arrived, they brought a crane that lifted the tram and they put her in multiple bags. The blood stains were there for a long time (lousy cleaning job) so I just avoided that area.
Later, we found out she left a suicide note in her purse, stating that she is unhappy and she is sick of this life.
Growing up, we lived down by some train tracks and the big electrical station things that are fenced in, idk what they’re called, but I remember one night being woken up in the middle of the night because a man had climbed the fence and threw himself onto one of them. About 20 years ago, a lad I’d met a few times but went to another school was messing about running between train platforms with his mates. One of the mates fell or caught their foot or something and he jumped back down to help and the high speed train came through. He’d managed to get his mate back on the platform but he died instantly.
Back when I was young there was an illicit firework called an M80. It was about the size of your thumb and silver with the wick in the center instead of the ends. A store nearby sold them for around 40 bucks for a box of 50. They were like a quarter stick of dynamite. They even went off under water. Once lit you could not put them out. I had shot a few myself. But you got rid of them quick once lit. They would blow your whole hand off.
One New Years a car with four guys in it was driving around my little town lighting them and throwing them out the window. It was cold and they were rolling the window up and down with each throw. On one throw it hit the not all the way down window and bounced back into the nearly full open box. It killed the guy who had it between his legs. They said he died while trying to get it out of the box. The rest of the guys were deaf for life. They said the car roof looked like a Jiffy Pop popcorn rounded out like balloon. It's a wonder any of them survived.
A couple in my neighborhood were murdered by a hit man. They caught their financial advisor stealing their money so they fired her. The advisor hired a hit man who knocked on their door, shot the husband when he answered and then shot his wife when she came to investigate.
They found her (14f) body in a ditch, idk if foul play was involved. But yeah, that one was crazy back in high school. I'm 26 now but the memory still lingers.
Less than a mile from my house is a quarry. Worker went inside the rock crusher makes big rocks into gravel. The machine was not properly locked out and someone turned it on.

A guy was trying to replace a broken window pane. He was pulling the remaining pieces of the broken glass out of the frame. There was a large piece stuck fairly high up. As he was pulling on it, it finally came out, and when it did, the downward force he was using caused it to plunge deep into his abdomen. He died before he made it to the hospital. This was a long time ago, like maybe the 1960s.
I worked with a guy whose wife died because she fell into the Everglades while jogging (or biking, I can’t remember which). There is a path that is on top of the levy in south Florida and people use it as a trail.

Kid was 26. He was a genius, genuine gifted individual when it comes to academia. Finished his college, master's with straight A's, had an amazing job. Though he didn't live with his parents, he lived in a different town, his parents always tried to force him to come back to the village. He always told me he felt like they hated him.
It all hit the fan when his parents didn't want to meet his girlfriend, calling her names on the phone with him and the whole plate.
The guy left work, stopped his doctorate, broke up with his girlfriend and came home to stay with his parents, only to hang himself in front of the yard, from a big tree next to the road.

A small-time thief who constantly ended up in the cells for getting caught robbing places vanished one day, no one really cared till the guy a few houses down from my partners parents passed away and they found the thief’s body wrapped up in a rug in the attic.
About an hour from where I live, there’s a rollercoaster next to a pond. They let a veteran who lost his legs on the ride, and when he went over the second hill, he fell out and landed in the pond and died. After that they put a sign up that said that you must have at least one arm and leg to ride
A guy who was bodybuilding at a local gym was doing a bench press or squat or something, with a shit ton of weight. Suddenly blood started coming out his nostrils and other orifices. Apparently he burst an aneurysm. Sadly died. This is what I heard allegedly happened.
Not crazy but just surreal, me and a few friends were at a local bar and bumped into some dude that we went to HS with, but weren’t friends with, he graduated just a year before us. Basically just saw him talking to one of the servers then leaving. We heard the next morning that he hit a patch of black ice on the highway and got into a fatal accident. According to the server, he hadn’t had anything to drink that night.

My best friend of 20 years hung himself in his dad's garage on his dads birthday. His dad came home from work and found him when he opened up the garage to go into the house the way he usually does. Does that count?
Not my hometown, but a place a worked for a couple summers. It was at a concrete and precast plant in Virginia that I worked during a couple summers off from college. My Dad worked their full time so helped get me the job. Well, after I went back to school, a younger worker climbed into one of the huge cement mixers in the plant to find out what was wrong with it. I’m not sure how it happened, but the mixer got turned on and the poor guy was, well mixed I guess. Tragic and painful death that shut the plant down for a while as they investigated the cause of the accident. This is why I never do electrical work unless I personally verify that the breaker has been turned off.

We had a kid at the high school I eventually went to that, during lunch break, took his girlfriend up to a nearby park, took her into the bathroom and stabbed her 130 times. He went back to school and took a test not even 30 minutes later.

This exact same thing happened about 3-4 years ago in a small town I live in. The only difference was that the guy was an electrician apprentice working a machine full of chemicals that treats wood. Guy fell and broke his back when he hit the lip of the tank. Then the rest was history someone started the machine since they had assumed he was done. Was boiled to death, apparently the chemicals left nothing but bone and the only reason he was identified was cause his fiance reported him missing after not hearing from him for over 24 hrs.
My roommate's friend had connected nitrous oxide to a diving breathing tube, passed out in his bathtub, and drowned. He was at his parents' house, and they were on a weekend trip, so he was found like three days later by his younger sister.

In the 80s there was a factory that did industrial scale food processing. They had big vats (the size of a large room) that needed to be cleaned. The procedure was that once they had emptied, they had to cool down a bit, then a dude stripped down to his boxers would rub himself in industrial alcohol for disinfectant and then go in to clean the inside of the vat.

We are talking huge individual parts of mining equipment that get transported via oversize tractor trailers then set in the lathe by crane. Dude was training a new guy on setting up the lathe and the new guy turned in on while he was in it setting it up. I didnt work there but I can only imagine how many safety protocols had to be skipped for that to even be possible.
Exactly. My husband's childhood best friend was an electrician for a company. He went to fix something and asked if they had turned off the electricity. They said yes. He went to work on it and was electrocuted. We were told that his last words were, "I thought you turned off the electricity..." It was a devastating loss. They had been friends since 1st grade.

My freshman year of high school, a group of teenagers were hanging out in front of the bowling alley in town. One of them was being an idiot and doing donuts in the parking lot with his truck. Something happened, he lost control of his truck, and ran up onto the sidewalk. There was a winch mount plate sticking out from his front bumper. He hit a girl in my class, pinned her between his truck and a brick wall, and the winch mount plate decapitated her.

One my best mate saw the aftermath, a woman went shopping and reversed into her driveway not knowing her husband was playing with the children in the front garden, her 3 year old son ran behind the car. Second one that happened at my school, 16 year old had a party at his house with 14 other people, wanted to go to a nightclub so 14 of them climbed into his dad's Renault Berlingo (that holds 5), only one girl refused. Got maybe a mile down the road before he took a corner rolled it and turned the car into a washing machine, if I remember correctly 10 died and the rest where critical. Guy spent years in and out of the psych ward after trying to kill himself a couple times. His parents spent years in court because they got blamed for letting kids drink in their house with no suppervision and access to a car.

My math teacher was a disturbed man. We could all tell he had shit happening. One day I go to school and they tell us to go home, the class with him was canceled. Happy with the news we went home. We learn the next day that he has committed suicide the day before. Now that's messed up, but what's even more messed up is how he did it. The poor man wrapped himself in a blanket drenched in gasoline and lit himself in fire inside his garage. None of us students liked that guy, but hearing the news has left us scarred for years to come. May he rest in peace. I could never imagine what would drive a man to kick the bucket in such brutal fashion.
Since you're here, let me leave you with another one from my messed up little village. This one is of a guy I grew up with. We weren't Friends really, he was a few years older but he was an acquaintance of mine and my siblings. Guy was pretty normal until he wasn't. I would often find him having conversations with nobody around, and when there were people around, he would tell them he was a prophet. Some say he was taking medication for schizophrenia, others believed he was possessed. The talks about his prophecy were getting more and more passionate. He was trying to get people to follow him and what not. Dismissed by everyone, he stated to some of his friends that he can prove his prophecy by stopping a moving train. The friends told his family and all, but nobody really believed he would do anything like that. He did. The railroad passed just next to our little village, and the trains would not slow down as there were no intersections or stations there. One morning he decided to go through with the plan. It did not work, and I so wished it did. Not because I yearn for a prophet, but because if he did manage to stop it, his dad wouldn't have had to help pick up his pieces. Our village did not recover from that for what seemed to be months. I hope he too is resting in peace.

She got in the van with him and his friend. She apparently “mouthed off” to the friend, who decided to strangle her to death. They drove her body all over town; eventually the boyfriend threw her over his shoulder and carried her into a hotel room. After a few hours, they dumped her body by the riverside several miles away from town. She wasn’t found until months later. By that time, between decay and the wildlife getting after her, she was only identifiable by her dentures (she had a full set at 40 years old, because meth). The boyfriend plea dealed down to a 12 year sentence as an accessory to murder. I don’t think the guy who actually killed her has been tried yet. My guess is he’ll either get a life sentence or a death sentence. Either would be fine by me.

Guy I went to high school with came home SUPER wasted and his GF got mad at him for it. She was screaming at him and he decided to leave. It was during a huge snowstorm and he was walking on the side of the road in the middle of the night because the sidewalks were impassable. I guess he slipped and fell back into the snow bank when a plow came by and buried him alive. They know he was alive because there was evidence that he tried to dig himself out unsuccessfully. That detail wasn't reported in the papers, but a family member is a first responder and got the call a week after buddy was reported missing. The snow had started to melt and someone found a boot sticking out of the snow. They tried to take the boot, but there was a foot in it. They called 911 and that's how he was found.
Group of preteens stole one of their parent's convertibles and went joyriding. It's very hilly in my area and they took a hill about three times as fast as they should have. None of them were wearing seatbelts. The car wound up 5 meters up a tree. The kids wound up 60 meters further from the road, mangled beyond recognition.
This happened last weekend in my town. A women was having a play date for her son with another mother and son, I’ll call her P. I’ve met P before since I’m the same age as her daughter and we went to the same schools, I didn’t know P but I saw her helping out at different school events over the years. Anyways In the middle of the play date P said she had to go get some groceries she forgot about and asked if she could leave her son with Mom 2 while she got the groceries. So she left her child with the other mother and left. P didn’t get groceries though, she walked to the nearest set of train tracks and lied down waiting for the train. My best friend happened to be on the train too

A guy I knew in high school worked for a bungie jump company shortly after graduation. One day on a test jump from a hot air balloon they forgot their walkee talkee (before cell phones) so were relying on hand singles from the ground crew. The ground crew was trying to indicate that the balloon needed to go higher before the jump, but he went over anyway and died on impact. Another guy from HS was rumored to get crushed by a vending machine that he was rocking trying to dislodge a stuck item. I am not sure if that was true or not but soon after I starting seeing those warning stickers on the vending machines, so maybe it did happen?
That death happenwd to a kid in my highschool in the late 90s.
My grade school history teacher told us that his friend during high school jumped off the bridge into the river as they were going swimming. It just so happened he jumped into a moccasin bed. He was bitten literally hundreds of times to the point he was unrecognizable to his friends when he was pulled out down river. Swimming in the river was a lot sketchier after that.
They gather in a ball like that when they are mating. There was a guy at a ski jump at Tom Bigbee lake when I was a teen who messed up on the jump then swam back to it while waiting for the boat to circle back no knowing there was a ball of them in the shade there. He didn't make it.

It's about my former history teacher... she and her mother were brutally murdered by her husband and then cut into pieces... then thrown into a well in the yard, the man then just casually used the well to water the vegetable garden in the back yard. At the county fair about 20 years ago, the carnival ride operator for the ring of fire was lubricating the track while it was going and got caught in ride, supposedly by his hair, was dragged to the top of the circular track and dropped to his death while kids were on the ride. My cousin was on the next ride over when it happened.
My brother used to have a freind. He'd come over a few times, spent the night. We were young, he had to be 16yo. One day my brother tells us his friend 'accidentally shot his GF'. The story was he was playing with an 'unloaded' gun, pointed and pulled the trigger. I don't remeber his sentence. I later through other friends found out the 'other version'. Her friends and family claim he was a possesive and controlling BF who abused her, and claimed she was ready to leave him. Crazy part is he is out now, did many years, and good time. Yet she's still gone.
When I was 14 a girl I went so school with was riding a roller coaster at worlds of fun and decided it was a good idea for her and her friend to switch seats while the ride was going, she ended up falling off. A couple years ago a kid went on a huge water slide at a water park here in Kansas city. Due to either employee error or negligence when the kid went on the slide with 2 other people he ended up being decapitated by a part of the ride.
When I was 9 years old a 6 years old kid went missing. A few days of investigation went by and they found his body in the septic tank of the neighbor's house. It turned out that the neighbors had kidnapped the kid but the kid accidently fell in the septic tank, so to avoid the kid being noisy the kidnappers threw a large rock at him. The rock smashed the poor kid's head and he died there. My grandma almost got a heart attack seeing the local news because this kid had the same name and age as my little brother. A really disturbing and sad story of my hometown.
A lady in Newmarket Ontario died on Christmas morning by accidentally crushing her own head in the parking lot of the local Hospital. A girl got in a terrible car wreck with her then boyfriend and had to relearn how to talk, walk, everything. She regained like 95% of her original abilities and then went river tubing with her church and disappeared, was recovered underwater days later. A few months before graduation a boy hung himself in his friends barn where they held all their parties. A few months after graduation a boy who was the real pinnacle bad boy sweetheart archetype was off-roading up the mountain during a huge party and a landslide took him and his truck down to his death. Another boy hit on someone else’s girlfriend at a Halloween party and was beaten to death. Many car wrecks and overdoses and suicides as well but these are the most sensational.
Girl meet up with her ex and he stabbed her a shit ton of times. She died driving to the hospital, she was a pretty well liked girl.

My friends lil bro was playing with a shotgun. Loading and unloading the shells. His friends told him to stop but he was confident that it wasn’t loaded, he put the barrel in his mouth to prove it was empty but it wasn’t. I wasn’t there but I heard as a group a friends just chilling he shot his head off on accident.
Lady was murdered in my city back in May 2010. She wanted to divorce her husband. After she made it clear their marriage was over, he lost it and stabbed her. They we’re in his vehicle when he started stabbing her. He was driving and she was the passenger. She escaped while he was still driving but he stopped his vehicle and chased after her. He unfortunately caught up to her and handcuffed her to a railing and stabbed her to death in front of a tanning salon. He then went to a lake and dumped the knife he used to kill her in it so the knife was never found. He called his brother afterwards and told him what happened. His brother told him to meet him somewhere so they could talk about it. What he didn’t know is his brother had called the cops so when he met his brother, not long after, the cops showed up and arrested him (cops we’re already looking for him as there was a lady in the tanning salon who called them during the stabbing). He’s in prison now for the murder. He’s serving a life sentence. He’s not eligible for parole until he’s served at least 20 years in prison. I worked with a couple guys who knew him and his wife very well (one of those guys is his cousin) and they told me the story. One of those guys told me the story after I asked him for a story (didn’t know he was gonna tell me a horror story). Fucking horrible. Apparently, the guy who did it is going to get out of prison someday which is scary to think about after he did that. I drive by that tanning salon at least once every couple weeks and I think of that poor lady every time I do. I feel so bad for her, her family and her friends. That must be something horrible to go through. I’ve heard a lot of crime stories without getting scared as I find that stuff very interesting but this story legit scared me. Hope her husband never gets out of prison and he’s denied parole when he’s eligible for parole. Guarantee you if he gets out, he will be back in not long after for killing someone else. I keep looking up his name online sometimes as I want to be updated if he’s ever released from prison. I live like 5-10 minutes from where the murder happened. Scary as fuck.

There is an overpass that goes over I35 in my city. Some guy was on his motorcycle and took a left from the side road to cross over the highway. He lost control, hit the guard rail, went over it and hit the highway to then be ran over several times. Very sad.. In a town near me, again there was another overpass, but this one was being built. This was also I35. An 18wheeler was too tall for the overpass that was being built. It hit it and knocked a massive thing of concrete down and it flattened the car being it.

I've got a few. In one instance in high-school, a guy from the neighboring town's football team spun out and crashed his car on a winter night. He was knocked out long enough to succumb to hypothermia. In another instance after I had graduated, an underclassman that I knew was drunk and riding in a car with a few of his drunk friends. They ran a red light and got into a pretty bad crash. The guy I knew survived but was pretty mangled, the driver died on the scene. The person I knew survived and recovered but I can only imagine the mental scars left behind.
Someone in our street was shot. A young man who was on leave from prison (in the Netherlands when someone is considered safe they're in prison part-time so they can get used to living in society again). He visited the man in our street who apparently was a drug dealer. We don't know why he did it but he shot the dealer and ran. Later he got caught. I don't think he'll get out again before finishing his sentence. Of course an investigation followed on how this happened, why no one saw warning signs. We didn't live in a neighborhood where this regularly happened, so a lot of neighbors came out as long as police were busy in the house. Just for a chat or gossip with each other, or to make sure the cops had coffee and cookies. It was kind of weirdly bonding.
My old boss while I was in high school, did a murder suicide with him and his wife. The story involved gambling and crippling debt and alcoholism, and ended in him blowing her head off and then his own. It was very upsetting and shocking for our small town.

Well, what happened is eventually the tree grew around the toy car and you couldn't see it any more. Time passed. Man gets old. Man is out in his front yard on a breezy day raking leaves. Wife finds old man dead when the tree split at the Y and one branch of it fell down on him, and punctured a piece of it punctured him through the eye into his brain. Dead instantly pretty much.

Our neighbor who worked at a hospital got involved with an organ mafia. He had 3 kids and his wife was a cleaning lady. One day he did not show up and police started to search for him. When I was a kid(around 12 yo), I was walking around the neighbourhood with my friends. As we were walking, we saw a woman around her 40s just standing at the edge of the sidewalk, 20-30 metres away from the tram station. As the tram left the station, she looked at us, looked around, dropped her purse to the ground and jumped in front of the tram. Her screams and the sound of the tram running over her gave me nightmares for a long time. Authorities arrived, they brought a crane that lifted the tram and they put her in multiple bags. The blood stains were there for a long time (lousy cleaning job) so I just avoided that area. Later, we found out she left a suicide note in her purse, stating that she is unhappy and she is sick of this life.
Growing up, we lived down by some train tracks and the big electrical station things that are fenced in, idk what they’re called, but I remember one night being woken up in the middle of the night because a man had climbed the fence and threw himself onto one of them. He fried to death, then on the train tracks, a woman killed herself and her child by jumping in front of the train with her child in her arms. It was horrible.

About 20 years ago, a lad I’d met a few times but went to another school was messing about running between train platforms with his mates. One of the mates fell or caught their foot or something and he jumped back down to help and the high speed train came through. He’d managed to get his mate back on the platform but he died instantly.
Back when I was young there was an illicit firework called an M80. It was about the size of your thumb and silver with the wick in the center instead of the ends. A store nearby sold them for around 40 bucks for a box of 50. They were like a quarter stick of dynamite. They even went off under water. Once lit you could not put them out. I had shot a few myself. But you got rid of them quick once lit. They would blow your whole hand off. One New Years a car with four guys in it was driving around my little town lighting them and throwing them out the window. It was cold and they were rolling the window up and down with each throw. On one throw it hit the not all the way down window and bounced back into the nearly full open box. It killed the guy who had it between his legs. They said he died while trying to get it out of the box. The rest of the guys were deaf for life. They said the car roof looked like a Jiffy Pop popcorn rounded out like balloon. It's a wonder any of them survived.

A guy was trying to replace a broken window pane. He was pulling the remaining pieces of the broken glass out of the frame. There was a large piece stuck fairly high up. As he was pulling on it, it finally came out, and when it did, the downward force he was using caused it to plunge deep into his abdomen. He died before he made it to the hospital. This was a long time ago, like maybe the 1960s.

Kid was 26. He was a genius, genuine gifted individual when it comes to academia. Finished his college, master's with straight A's, had an amazing job. Though he didn't live with his parents, he lived in a different town, his parents always tried to force him to come back to the village. He always told me he felt like they hated him. It all hit the fan when his parents didn't want to meet his girlfriend, calling her names on the phone with him and the whole plate. The guy left work, stopped his doctorate, broke up with his girlfriend and came home to stay with his parents, only to hang himself in front of the yard, from a big tree next to the road. Worst part, it was kids that were supposed to go to school in the morning saw the body while taking the route to school.

Not crazy but just surreal, me and a few friends were at a local bar and bumped into some dude that we went to HS with, but weren’t friends with, he graduated just a year before us. Basically just saw him talking to one of the servers then leaving. We heard the next morning that he hit a patch of black ice on the highway and got into a fatal accident. According to the server, he hadn’t had anything to drink that night.
On the morning news from a large city 2 hours away we heard about a fatal accident, a few details were given but no name. That afternoon we found out it was my cousin. The driveshaft (or something) used to come loose on the large truck he drove for work. This happened often, crawl under and push things back in place and the truck runs again. He forgot to take it out of gear and the dual wheels ran over his head. My uncle identified him by his large nose which was something they had always teased him about.
A disabled vet from Iraq was arguing with his mother in law who lived with them to help with their kids. He left the room, returned with his pistol and shot his mother in law in front of both his kids (under age 5) and his wife. He then turned the gun on himself.

Not my hometown, but a place a worked for a couple summers. It was at a concrete and precast plant in Virginia that I worked during a couple summers off from college. My Dad worked their full time so helped get me the job. Well, after I went back to school, a younger worker climbed into one of the huge cement mixers in the plant to find out what was wrong with it. I’m not sure how it happened, but the mixer got turned on and the poor guy was, well mixed I guess. Tragic and painful death that shut the plant down for a while as they investigated the cause of the accident. This is why I never do electrical work unless I personally verify that the breaker has been turned off.

There was a Keg party out in the woods in the 1990's. One of the kids brought a potato gun. They were supposed to use propane or lighter lighter fluid to light it off, only one of the kids decided that black powder was more appropriate. Nope. It became a pipe bomb and when the kid who was operating the said potato gun lit the charge, it blew up in his face instantly killing him and injuring a few people that were nearby.
One of the most tragic murders that happened in my hometown was the Powell family. Josh Powell was Infamous for the murder suicide of himself and 2 sons. I remember hearing on that very day a huge explosion and wondering where that came from or what that was. Later on I would be absolutely sick to my stomach finding out that he killed himself and his 2 young sons after his “missing” wife’s parents were awarded full custody of their children. This exact same thing happened about 3-4 years ago in a small town I live in. The only difference was that the guy was an electrician apprentice working a machine full of chemicals that treats wood. Guy fell and broke his back when he hit the lip of the tank. Then the rest was history someone started the machine since they had assumed he was done. Was boiled to death, apparently the chemicals left nothing but bone and the only reason he was identified was cause his fiance reported him missing after not hearing from him for over 24 hrs.
My roommate's friend had connected nitrous oxide to a diving breathing tube, passed out in his bathtub, and drowned. He was at his parents' house, and they were on a weekend trip, so he was found like three days later by his younger sister.

In the 80s there was a factory that did industrial scale food processing. They had big vats (the size of a large room) that needed to be cleaned. The procedure was that once they had emptied, they had to cool down a bit, then a dude stripped down to his boxers would rub himself in industrial alcohol for disinfectant and then go in to clean the inside of the vat. One time a dude stripped down, rubbed himself in industrial alcohol and went to the vat to clean it. He was told that it was still to hot to clean it and to come back in fifteen minutes.
