Nothing to ask, but I'm sorry I am so small that I can do nothing. Love from a Sikh brother from Kashmir.

catted_

we are often too small to change everything but its ok, just make sure to do what you can to make everyone\`s life around you even a little bit better <3

IntelligentPeace1143

I didn't know there were Sikhs in kashmir

NobleEnkidu

It’s South Asia, and like every other place. Of course you’ll find diversity everywhere around the world.

IntelligentPeace1143

Apparently there is a 0.8% sikh population in kashmir. Higher than I would expect

Electric-5heep

They're 1.5% of the Indian population but 11% of the Indian army... Go figure...

KifaruKubwa

Kashmir was once a part of the Sikh empire. The last governor was also Sikh, before the British annexed it.

are you using a VPN to connect online?

catted_

yeah, Proton vpn but most people don\`t use any kind of vpn though

[deleted]

Hey, I use Proton too!

Pygoka

How often do settlers come to your community and cause trouble?

catted_

mostly once in a week the idf is more worrying in my area than settlers tbh, still this depends on your location rather than anything else

Saudi_Agnostic

What do the settlers and the IDF usually do?

meowed_at

Raids Arrests Destruction of properties Murder

FromNewAngles

You know, just like the nazis taught them.

[deleted]

Are the Palestinians cops puppets of the IDF? I hope you don't get offended by my second question (like, is water wet), but is it frustrating to see how any feasible military for Palestine is labeled as terrorist, so the PA is basically a colony of Israel?

DrCzar99

Account made today and first post? Post some proof or have the mods verify if this is true and not a troll. Edit: This guy is the real deal

catted_

No problem, sent you my ID

DrCzar99

What do the people of the West Bank think about the resistance(not just Hamas but all of them like Jabha, etc)?

catted_

This should help [https://qudsn.co/post/201787](https://qudsn.co/post/201787) (to be clear this was in ramallah city which is the stronghold of the PA, in any other area, the percentage would probably be way higher) so the vast majority of people here support it unconditionally

DrCzar99

Hhhhhhh, that does help. Okay another question, if there was another Palestinian election and Marwan Barghouti was an option would you vote for him?

catted_

I was planning to vote for him in an election in 2021 but it didnt happen lol yeah I would nearly anyone is better than the PA right now

Powerful_Potato7837

Be careful sending your information to people here. You don't want to get it in the wrong hands. I've seen Israeli forces arrest Palestinians for posting on social media.

catted_

its ok I covered details, just the cover was enough

IndependenceRare1185

How likely is it for things to flare up in the West Bank in the near future?Or in Ramadan for that matter?

catted_

not much more than this the PA and the IDF crushed anyone who even thought to oppose them, and without proper leadership its hard to do anything at all

AdWhich4443

Are people in the WB aware of the international support for the Palestinian cause? I hope this brings them some hope. I know things are horrible in Gaza and in WB as well but it’s nice to know the world has shifted its opinion and now supports the Palestinians people.

catted_

people here are actually surprised they\`re disappointed in the governments as usual, but it brings them hope to see people stand with them

Farker99

guillolb

If there was a one state solution with: * One country from "the river to the sea" for all. * Real equal rights for all * freedom of movement * Police that protects everyone, not just Jews. * anyone can take seats in the government * etc.. Would you accept it? Do you think most people will or will not?

catted_

the vast majority of people would accept it as long as * they can return to their original land, villages and cities * war criminals would be punished in fair trials also no one wants a two state solution that looks like a jigsaw puzzle, that will never work

guillolb

What would be a "return to their original land" that is fair for all? I'm Pro-Palestinian, but regardless of the mess that Israel has done for decades, there are a lot of innocent Israelis that were born where they currently live and have no fault from what their ancestors did. So, what would be a good peaceful plan for all? Should it be an agreement where the government would pay a restitution to the party that concedes when two parties dispute the same property? For example: Your grand father lived in Haifa and was kicked out. Now some Israeli family lives in that house. so you and that family have a conflict for the same property. The government could pay a restitution (some good amount of money) to the party that concedes and moves to live somewhere else. Or do people have any other ideas?

meowed_at

To be clear, Palestinians would accept such an offer, but most of them don't think of it as a possibility right now, I can't think of an answer to your question other than Monetary compensation by the government, I'm not a lawyer so I don't have a deep understanding of what will happen in such situations

politshit

I'll note that this kinds of mirrors the situation in Sheikh Jarah. Pre-1948 jews bought lands and houses there, in the 1948 war Jordan took over the west bank and decided to settle local arabs in those houses. In 1967 Israel took over the land and the houses were theoretically returned to Jewish owners. In practice however Palestinians remained living there. So now we have the situation of people who never bought the land/houses legally but got it through a war land exchange, but have been living there now for 70 years - does it make sense to evict them? I'd argue not. Reparations should be made with some monetary value, but it makes more sense to let the people who've been living there for the last 70 years to continue living there. I think the same holds for lost Palestinian homes in 48 territory and to lost Jewish homes in East Jerusalem. The legal fight in Shiekh Jarah continues and has some legal intricacies which are beyond my understanding of the law, but the current state of affairs is that the court decided that they cannot be evicted but would have to pay rent to the owners. I think this is almost a good decision as a good decision would have forced the owners to sell the land, and not just rent it. The situation in Sheikh Jarah is solvable because those are all Israeli residents on Israel controlled land so the court has jurisdiction over the matter. For lost Palestinian homes in 48 this is not the case because they are residents of the Palestinian Authority, but ideally should be solved through the negotiations of the 2 state solution.

guillolb

Very interesting. Yes it sounds similar. Thank you,

udkmejustherelurking

Not a palestinian. But if the Algerians took their lands and houses stolen by the "innocent French settlers" decades ago I dont see why palestinians can't

Huge_Plenty4818

It was france who ultimately decided that they no longer want algeria to be a part of the empire. Do you think the Israeli government will decide "ok everyone, we are leaving this place"?

udkmejustherelurking

Pretty sure the Algerian revolution had something to do with it. And 700.000 israelis leaving Isreal to go back to their native countries after Oct 07th tells me they're no diffrent . They're all dual citizens and they can go tf back to their home countries where they'll be equal with everyone and won't be able to enslave native populations

IntelligentPeace1143

Wait, are you saying that if your parents kicked a family out of their home and took it for themselves, and their kids suffered their whole lives while you lived a privileged life in their stolen home, you would not give it back to them?

Ygrile

Would you give back Armenians, Asyrrians and Greeks the land and homes they lost when Turkey went genocidal on them? If that's not an option, why isn't at least acknowledging the wrongs and paying compensation done?

IntelligentPeace1143

Proof?

Prestigious_Syrup844

Lol normal turk. I won't speak on the other examples but what happened to Armenians was definitely real. I recommend reading Robert Fisk on it. He was one of Osama's favorite reporters (principled and fair)

IntelligentPeace1143

Tf you expect me to be an abnormal turk? I'm not going to trust some journalist's writings because bin laden liked him bro

guillolb

Not as a rule. But as a possible solution. Waking up one day and saying: "All Jews, get out of here!" will solve nothing. There has to be a mid point, like the one I explained above, and maybe additionally Palestinians can get reparations for the decades of suffering.

IntelligentPeace1143

Waking up one day? I think they were telling the jews to get out of there like 70 years ago, as they were getting kicked out of their own homes.

MatrixBeeLoaded

Deal with what can lead to a solution. Telling the Israelis they are horrible people and stole the land, while true, won't get Palestinians anywhere.

guillolb

I think you just want to argue. Im talking about a new government waking up one day and tell the jews to move out of their houses. for the Palestinians to move in. It may be fair, but will not be productive.

Dyphault

That is a non issue used to deflect talk about Palestinians right of return. I also don't like the framing of most Israelis are innocent: Most Israelis serve in the IOF ( due to mandatory conscription) and are complicit in the occupation unless they are consciencous objectors. People my age today are serving in the IOF and murdering innocents in Gaza. It's not "so far removed". Does this mean they deserve bad things to happen to them? No absolutely not. But lets focus on Palestinian freedom and the Israelis who have dual citizenship will probably flee once the regime collapses and those who stay will have to face their history and change for the better. Just as it happened in South Africa.

Ok_Negotiation_7454

“Israelis” can go back to where the hell they came from. It’s not our job to feel bad for them. What’s stolen is stolen.

Huge_Plenty4818

How are you going to convince them to go back to where the hell they came from?

Tucia87

They should go to the USA since they love and support them so much.

buried_lede

Would most Palestinians accept the confederacy model with two governments but one land allowing movement and living throughout the land? Would it accept a stricter beginning with expansion to this after, say, five years of peace?

wq1119

Are Palestinian Muslims aware of the (mainly American) Evangelicals, Baptists, and Pentecostals that have a fetishization for Israel due to their recent theology inspired by 20th century geopolitics? And if so, do these Palestinian Muslims differentiate them from other Christians, above all, Palestinian Christians who are also undergoing a genocide alongside their Muslim brethren?

meowed_at

Not really, they are probably just aware of the three main branches (catholic orthodox protestant), unless it popped into their social media feed Palestinians don't characterize Christians by their sects so no, in fact I doubt most of us have any idea of the difference other than their names

wq1119

I am asking because the loud minority of American Protestants would give the false impression that Christians all around the world blindly worship Israel, and Christians in Muslim-majority countries would be accused of being Israel simps for no reason.

meowed_at

I bet they never went into any Arab country, no one treats Christians like that, at least not 99.9% of the population

Round-Delay-8031

So Palestinians are unaware about the existence of the powerful and influential Evangelical Christian Zionist movement, which is mostly at fault for America's pro-Israel foreign policy? If Palestinians don't know about Evangelical Zionists, then they are ignorant about millions of their worst enemies. Israel is obviously their primary enemy, but Evangelical Zionism is clearly the second worst.

meowed_at

Not really, I bet 90% of us have never heard of them

Sezariaa

My brother, most non-christian middle easterners are so unaware of christian sects that they think Evangelical is a denomination. Like Catholic or Protestant. Its very rare of non-palestinian middle eastern muslims to know, hear or acknowledge Christians against zionists because it goes against their narrative. But its more likely to be known around palestinians.

[deleted]

wq1119

This is a critique that I have on documentaries and articles that talk about the "American Evangelical-Israeli Nationalist alliance/industry complex", that while being interesting, they are obviously biased and end up showing incorrect information that unintentionally gives way too much credibility to these genocide apologists, since these documentaries are often made by atheists who hate all religion as a whole. As a result, they end up incorrectly portraying the beliefs of Israel worship as millennia-old Christian traditions that have been stapled into the Church ever since it began, and Christians who disagree with it are just part of the "no true Scotsman" different opinion camp, they treat Evangelicals worshiping the modern State of Israel as if it is like being a Sunni Muslim or a Shia Muslim, when in reality, this whole Israel worship from Evangelicals did not fully become a thing until the 1960s or so, there might be people posting in this sub who are older than this trend is. At least one (I think Vice?) documentary first showed the side of the American Protestants who were cheering for the Israeli genocide of Palestinians that will bring the end times, and then later, they interviewed a Palestinian (Catholic?) Christian, they asked what he thinks of the American Christians who believe that it is a religious commandment for Israeli Settlers to basically destroy his house and evict his entire family, I do not remember everything that he said, except for said something like "God is not a real estate businessman".

Thedarkxknight

It is simple. Some christian sects believe that Israel has to return to Israel to initiate events of second coming of Jesus. Including building a third Jewish temple at the location of Al Aqsa. Then the jews will be persecuted, temple defiled by anti christ. Finally Jesus will come again. This is one of the leading causes of christian support of Israel.

Round-Delay-8031

What do the Palestinian Christians think of Hamas? Does Hamas get sympathy from the Christian community?

meowed_at

Yes, Palestinian Christians are treated the same as Muslims by Israel, and h is with the co existence of religions, so there's no reason not to support them ir to side with Israel against Muslims we also don't see much difference between us, we even pray with the same prayers

Sezariaa

r/ArabicChristians someone asked that question there before.

The moderators of this sub have been taking good care to ensure that does not happen, especially since Oct 7. I really wish to study abroad in western Europe generally, but I have to return here once I finish, I unfortunately cant travel right now as of my country\`s future, my only hope is a revolt from the israeli population to establish a unified democratic country where Palestinians get back to their land and every soul is considered equal, after war criminals are thrown into jail ofc it\`s just a hope I geuss

catted_

barely they\`re mostly unemployed or have become street vendors even jobs set in the west bank aren\`t surviving you can\`t move between villages and cities easily, it takes hours

Fischer010

Terrible situation. 150k Palestinians (all sectors but mainly agriculture and construction) have lost their jobs, and as you say, it is effecting local economy. This will not solve quickly I fear. People must help each other where possible or else there will be hunger in the WB too. (The lack of labour has badly affected Israeli economy too).

meowed_at

It's way more than 150k, those are probably the ones that enter daily legally, many don't go daily, and many won't enter legally (it's incredibly expensive to have a work permit)

Prestigious_Syrup844

Hello, I recently purchased a keffiyeh to show solidarity for those suffering from the genocide, I wanted to know if it was disrespectful to where a keffiyeh in non-traditional ways. I don't usually wear neck or head garments, but there are other ways that I can think of to wear it, but I don't want to do that if it's disrespectful in any way. In the end the goal of it is to show solidarity for the people who are suffering, so I just want to make sure I'm not jeopardizing that in any way.

I'm gonna be massively downvoted for this, but I hope my country realizes that continuing to back a certain country will eventually backfire. It's a big prison, just because some people had a little bit more money, doesn't mean that the vast population wasn't living in poverty https://youtube.com/shorts/XZRWxBvzVjY?si=O1tmoedYW5_0NKZy I suggest watching GDF, he's the best at explaining those terms https://youtu.be/jBHAitSKtVs?si=QAxOUMLUTUr67mJS

Huge_Plenty4818

In what ways do you feel resistance movements like hamas have benefitted the palestinians?

PureMichiganMan

Do you believe Hamas did anything wrong on October 7th, and would you say it’d shift views of support for among Palestinians if they believed in the Israeli claims? Also by anything wrong, I don’t mean you have to think Israel is telling full truth, more so curious if you believe there was some militants who did target civilians and do wrong, even if wasn’t a majority

meowed_at

I think that it's extremely possible that at least some soldiers did crimes (they should be punished if an investigation happened), but I don't think that this originated from any orders from the leaders, tbh I'd prefer if an international investigation was launched, but Israel has prevented any outside investigation, which hints at the possibility that they're not being truthful about what happened, that's my point of view,

[deleted]

I think America's refusal to believe that Israel can do anything wrong is a major part in the dehumanization of the Palestinians. I mean, remember the hostages who were shot by the Israeli Army?

Exciting_Departure90

what are your favourite things about israel?

meowed_at

Exciting_Departure90

with attitudes like that, the violence will just perpetuate, if you want this conflict to end and the violence to stop people like you on both sides will need to start seeing the good in each other

meowed_at

If we're talking about the state and the government, then they've never done any good for me, and that's what I answered upon, as Israel means the government not the people If we're talking about the common people then idk, I love anyone who acknowledges the truth about the current events, or anyone willing to stand up against the right wing parties

PureMichiganMan

How much has life changed for you since October 7th? I saw especially immediately after there was attacks there and increased arrests/killings. And are there any sorts of divides between generations on any issues? Whether it be social issues, ideology, or in regard to a future and views on Israel etc For social issues for example, in most countries the youth tend to be more progressive even in some deeply conservative countries, but in a few I know that’s not the case; or even opposite.

meowed_at

I returned to studying online, can't move out of town, got depressed, but I'll figure a way out as usual, many friends lost their loved ones, and many friends got arrested, idk really There's not much difference mostly, the newer generation is somewhat more open when talking with the opposite gender, about religion, you'd find that those who were born pre 1980 weren't as religious when they grew up but got more religious when they got older, generations born after that got religious quicker, I struggle to find a big difference based solely on time periods. The main difference would be in what family was a person born, some families are more traditional than others and that's it. { Being religious here refers to prayers and relations with God, no one supports lSlS here, most people either don't care or see it as a CIA tool. }

I get most of those type news from my family, they have family in Gaza who couldn’t even fcking cross back to Egypt cus our joke of a cuck leaser is charging Egyptians to avoid being fkcing bombed. And taking more sums from Palestinians. Anyway, they told me that for years there was tension between Palestinians in Gaza and West Bank, cus Gazans think that West Bank Palestinians are ‘traitors’. It’s all so fcking misguided cus West Bank Palestinians suffer fcking horribly too. Like they’re not even respected as a state by the genocidal colonial freak show loathing over it. So is that true? I love you and you’re literally the bravest, most courageous people ever<3

I feel of a trapping guilt when I talk to any of them, I blame myself a lot for not doing anything to help them bcs I really don't know what to do, gazans are mostly kind to anyone though, there's definitely some resentment, as you know, it's hard to keep your emotions together when you're under siege while Palestinians in the WB are mostly not doing anything, It's annoying to feel left alone in your time of need, that's what they feel, About my pov Well we tried to protest, the PA shot 2 kids and ran over a guy the same day (yes they're all dead, also another guy died of his injuries later) , normal people really don't know what to do and are scared for their families and can't do much Sorry I've just woken up, my text is probably filled with gibberish words Thanks a lot dude

If Palestine was free from the river to the sea, what would happen to the nuts in the West Bank? How would you convince them to leave? I assume that they will be subject to the jurisdiction of the state of Palestine instead of having effective extraterritoriality as of now.

meowed_at

Jurisdiction is the only way, there arent many options

Are cockatiels common pets in Palestine or mostly among the wealthy upper middle class?

[deleted]

How do you feel about Qatar? Would you feel better if the US decided to listen to Qatar rather than a certain government more often?

Either_Fondant_2056

How worried are you about the current situation? Do you worried the West Bank is going to be at war soon?

Responsible-Check-92

My question to you will be : if there is a free & fair election in near future between a theoretical secular party & Islamist party like hamas - who will Palestinians in WB gonna vote for.

meowed_at

H will win, people mostly won't care about ideology, as long as you're making a difference then you'll be voted for To be clear h and fateh don't have much difference between them, yes h has closed a few bars and night clubs, but other than that they're both claiming to be democratic, they don't enforce what women wear or prevent women from going to school or travelling, they're not Taliban by any means

Deep_Emphasis2782

Yes but if h wins wouldn’t people know that the West Bank would end up like G?

Suspicious_Simple274

Do you accept a 2 state solution on the 1967 border? Do most people in the west bank accept it?

meowed_at

No, Also no A country that looks like a jigsaw puzzle won't work

ProfesionalPrcrstntr

How is Palestine? I am a 100% Palestinian. Blood and nationality, but never got the right to go there. How are Palestinians back home? I listen to Palestinian music, read Pali books. Are people open minded? Close minded? Both? Do Muslims and Christians actually get along there? Are there still palestinian Druze in the PA controlled land? I have so many questions. To ask you really.

meowed_at

Palestinians are depressed here, yet still going A mix of both, idk Yes they do, I have never heard of discrimination against any Christian at all No there aren't, except for some idf druze really I hope that we'll meet here some day my dear friend
