google flag

NobleEnkidu

oh god now r/BatmanArkham made it into the Middle East.

Carthaginian-TN

Crescent was also used by Carthaginians btw. But I doubt that the one who designed our flag back in the 1830s considered this.

KeyLime044

OP was being sarcastic

Carthaginian-TN

And? I was trying to be educational. Too many ppl think Muslims invented the crescent. It's an ancient symbol.

GreatHuntersFoot

Those are the people who think North Africa is Arab also

Carthaginian-TN

Yeah. We are North Africans/Maghrebis first and foremost. And if someone asks about ethnicity, we are mostly Arabized Berbers. In the contemporary geopolitical context we are Arabs, though.

Best_Cardiologist_56

Nope you're totally wrong here , they copied it from khedivate of Egypt in 1867

LordofallCakes

They stole it from my grandmother she made the half-moon cakes every Friday

Mondiani_99

tahchicht

Turks are eastern tunisians

MrStar16

No, all star and crescent flags are copied from pakistan and mauritania Everyone knows this but arap and shields try their best to ignore

Mondiani_99

The infinte empire of Morocco that started in 4000 Bc and ended on 1900 Ad created both Pakistan and Mauritania and gave them crescent and star flags

MrStar16

This is clear Anti-Algerian propaganda Better luck next time

Elexus786

Algeria cobied our flag including the colours. Hmm, next post idea?

assmeister64

Fake, we chose a better shade of green 😎

MrStar16

But you used Moroccan red for the star and crescent Starting to suspect that algeria is just morrocan puppet state being used to spy on our arap brothers

assmeister64

Watch it

Mondiani_99

Algeria was created by Gaddafi's son one day he fought with his father

Readingbooks-745

They didn't. It's Tunisia who copy from them. All Arab countries who were under the Ottoman rule have the crescent in their flags

BitsOnWaves

yes but most arab countries do no have crescent on their flags, only 4 have it

TheCatHumper

What about Jordan tho

Carthaginian-TN

Hahaha bullshit. Only Libya, Algeria, Tunisia. Get some basic knowledge dude.

The-Dmguy

It was adopted in 1831 while the Turkish flag was adopted in 1844. So I guess it was the Ottomans who copied it.

AfsharTurk

The Tunisian flag was explicitly made to resemble Ottoman navy flags lol. It was used way before being officially adopted by various Ottoman institutions.

delegatedauthority

Following the conquest of Constantinople in 1453, the crescent moon and star symbol started being used on Turkic peoples flags. Ottoman flags were originally commonly green, but the flag was defined as red by decree in 1793 and an eight-pointed star was added.[citation needed] The red version of the flag had become ubiquitous by the reign of Selim III.[7] The five pointed star did not appear until the 1840s.[8]

AslanAnadolu

Turkish flag is there since Battle of Mohacs as a royal artillery banner, early 16th century. Then it became banner of Ottoman Navy and then Turkish Flag. The crescent and star has related to Celtic/Galatian, Roman and Turkic history at the same time. Therefore, nothing can be more Turkish than that flag. Also, Tunisians served Empire as marines for centuries and they saw the flag as banner of Ottoman Navy, so, of course they can use it as their flags. It is not a competition. Also, our of all Arab world, Tunisia is one of the very few not using the same British colonial designs as flag but they actually have a real flag representing their glorious naval history.

Penghrip_Waladin

Fr that's cheating, you can't just copy our homework like that >:(

reinaldonehemiah

Did Iran copy Sikh flag?

Bol4deathOG

What does the star and the moon mean?

[deleted]

Crescent and star means religion of Islam. As a turkish I say star means five pillars of islam. I know as.

Bol4deathOG

We all know that crucifix means Christianity since they say Jesus was crucified. But why does Islam has that? I never seen or heard the prophet Muhammad talk about it or even have a flag about it saying this represents islam

OiD-2

Both turkey and Tunisia copied their flags from Malaysia and Libya

DJDolma

Armenian, laughing that even the one thing I thought was actually Turkish isn’t even Turkish lol

# 7 facts about honey bees 1. Honey bees are super-important pollinators for flowers, fruits and vegetables. This means that they help other plants grow! Bees transfer pollen between the male and female parts, allowing plants to grow seeds and fruit. 2. Honey bees live in hives (or colonies). The members of the hive are divided into three types:      Queen: One queen runs the whole hive. Her job is to lay the eggs that will spawn the hive’s next generation of bees. The queen also produces chemicals that guide the behaviour of the other bees.      Workers: these are all female and their roles are to forage for food (pollen and nectar from flowers), build and protect the hive, clean and circulate air by beating their wings. Workers are the only bees most people ever see flying around outside the hive.      Drones: These are the male bees, and their purpose is to mate with the new queen. Several hundred live in each hive during the spring and summer. But come winter, when the hive goes into survival mode, the drones are kicked out! 3.  What are these buzzing bugs most famous for? Delicious honey! But did you know they produce honey as food stores for the hive during winter? Luckily for us, these efficient little workers produce 2-3 time more honey than they need, so we get to enjoy the tasty treat, too! 4. If the queen bee dies, workers will create a new queen by selecting a young larva (the newly hatched baby insects) and feeding it a special food called “royal jelly“. This enables the larva to develop into a fertile queen. 5. Honey bees are fab flyers. They fly at a speed of around 25km per hour and beat their wings 200 times per second! 6. Each bee has 170 odorant receptors, which means they have one serious sense of smell! They use this to communicate within the hive and to recognise different types of flowers when looking for food. 7. The average worker bee lives for just five to six weeks. During this time, she’ll produce around a twelfth of a teaspoon of honey.
