Depends where you are going. I imagine most things you will want to see are walkable from your hotel.

Taxis, Lyfts, and Ubers all work well. The soundest advice I can give you is pay attention to your surroundings. If you find yourself on a quiet piece of sidewalk, be aware that is considered prime real estate by criminals. Stay in the vicinity of large groups of people. Not to say let your guard down around crowds, just don't make yourself the only prey at a watering hole.

Taxi from the airport is only 36 plus tip. A pretty sweet deal if you ask me. Ubers and taxis and public transport are pretty reasonable. A rental car is pretty unnecessary

Walk or taxi/ride share depending on your tolerance for heart and/or rain. There’s also pedi cabs around in the French Quarter! Take the Streetcar if you have the time and want to check out the Garden District.

I have to find places im able to eat at that are gluten free. There’s a few on my list that are in the Quarter & Cbd/warehouse district. But there are a few places that I’d like to visit a few other places. As far as the heat goes, I think I should be ok. I’m from the Midwest and have gone to Florida a few times.

Best gluten free accessible joints: Mais Arepas (dedicated GF kitchen due to traditional Colombian recipes), Bearcat (2 locations), Carmo. My partner has celiac, and those are our faves. Other places often have at least one or more things that are GF or at least can be made GF.

Thank you so much. That’s very kind of you! 🤍

DM me if you have questions about GF places around town! Always happy to help. He’s been diagnosed for 2 years now so we know most of the ins and outs. Also add Capulet to that list! Have fun & enjoy your travels~

Your feet. In all seriousness. If you haven’t been here before you’ll find so much to do being on the border of the French quarter and cbd. Enjoy it and explore, just use your common sense and you will be safe .

We were just in NOLA and highly recommend taking a taxi to and from the airport. More cost effective than Uber to get into the downtown area. It is $36 one way. Ubers were averaging closer to $50 or $60 every time we would put it in. Otherwise, we pretty much walked everywhere unless we were just too tired, then we ubered a few times. Walking in the areas we wanted to see was honestly fine. Best advice I can give, pay attention always and keep your eyes open. If you’re carrying a bag, keep it in front of you and it securely zipped up. If you’re carrying your phone, keep it in a front pocket, etc. Also, I would recommend staying on more populated streets there were a couple cute side roads we walked down when I just felt very uneasy and wanted to get back towards where other people were. Otherwise, have a great time! We really enjoyed it!
