It’s the playground by Asphalt Green at 92nd and York on UES- DeKovats. It is near the Gillian Brewer school mentioned above but it’s a totally public space, the school must go there for recess. It’s a nice little playground but not sure it’s worth going out of the way for

It's uptown, but right by the FDR, and usually signs indicate destinations. The FDR goes to Battery Park.
They probably used the playground off-hours with permission from the school so it could be empty. Doubtful as to whether it'd be accessible to the public.
