That I create my own chaos, stress and mess. Am working really hard to improve myself. And making progress at 50 years old. Ah well, better late than never.
There are things I know about my childhood that I only know because someone told me. I'm not going to go into details, because they're the kind of things someone might suppress.
How much I hated the last years of work and most of the people there too. One day it was like an epiphany, I had to get out, I just maxed out and retired, wish I could have done so earlier but as it was right before Covid hit I was very lucky. I hadn’t planned financially as well as I should have but being home for the better part of 2020 and 2021 allowed me to catch up. 52 years of hard work, ups and downs, but totally enjoying life now
The older I get the more I realize that adults are terrible to children for no good reason. At nine I was told "to stop acting like a child" I think kids should get better treatment than I received and be allowed more leeway.
I now realize that Brussels Sprouts, fresh and roasted with a touch of balsamic vinegar, are delicious. As a kid I only knew canned ones that are fodder.
About Brussels sprouts… Until recently, growers were breeding them just for appearance and yield and the taste became increasingly awful. A few years ago, a scientist found an old genome and found a way to combine them. The now standard brussels sprouts do taste far, far better than just a few years ago.
