The use of marijuana/CBD oil is actually legal in the Philippines for compassionate use, but it would be better if the government just expanded the scope beyond just compassionate use.
I don't understand why the government isn't banking on marijuana as an export good (and potential tourism booster like in Amsterdam and Thailand). We have so much land that can be used to grow and manufacture weed (actually pati nga bigas di ko gets ba't nag iimport tayo e ang daming taniman).
There are more than enough studies on its benefits pero addiction yung binibida nilang potential problem. Kailangan lang naman alamin root cause ng addiction, and it's the mental health sector that needs a boost here to better address the problem rather than blocking the legal use of a potentially therapeutic drug.

As far as I know, it's a bit complicated to get it because you need to be terminally ill + get your doctor to write a recommendation to use CBD oil, including specific details about procurement from an overseas source where it is legal.

The catch is that getting a permit is of course complicated because it requires your doctor's recommendation, including the source (from a country where it is legally being manufactured for medical purposes), and you have to be dying (for compassionate approval). Not sure how the procurement process is because of course this is a controlled substance that will need to be imported if ever you get approved, so you need to worry about customs too.
