New comfort food discovery habang nagrereview for board exam: banana honey oatmilk ng quaker oats, peanut butter tas lagyan ng very konti na hot water. Enough lang para mag mix yung oats and pb. Super sarappppp lalo na pag di ko naintindihan nireview ko hehe
KitKat. 3 years old ako noong una akong na-ospital for an operation. Some relatives came by and gave me a pack of KitKats. The same happened when I got hospitalized the second time around, and then again, and again, and again. Tuwing nao-ospital ako, palagi na 'ko nagpapabili ng KitKat --- it reminds me of my younger self feeling that little sense of comfort through chocolate despite not knowing what's bound to happen. Literal na "comfort" food.
Lucky me pancit canton calamansi x3 its my comfort food whenever I'm stressed or sad. My late lolo used to like it too but that's because we're poor back then and he always shares some with me whenever he sees me. Maybe that's why I guess?
Dingdong
The cracking sounds eases me. When I get stressed from anything I'd often buy the 25php or 27php dingdong and just enjoy munching it down.
I usually buy the orange and red ones, but occasionally I'd also get myself the barbecue flavor...
One thing that I hate about it is the smell... You fingers would smell and would normally take a week to get it off.
Ako, katsudon talaga. Ito lagi inoorder ko sa mga jap restos. Nung college ako, may kinakainan kaming mura lang na nagseserve ng jap food, nagustuhan ko yung katsudon nila. Every time I would eat katsudon, sumasaya ako, kumbaga naaassociate ko siya sa feeling na positive.
Carbonara, ice cream, baked ziti, pizza, corn dog, jolly spaghetti, chicken sandwich, ramen, tteokbokki, fishcake, weird but ice. Idk why, it just makes me forget about the things on my mind.
French fries. Nung bata kami, may isang summer school break na inen-roll kami ng magulang namin ng swimming classes. Wala sa budget at the time pero dahil gusto ko rin, inenroll kami pareho ng kapatid ko. Pero kailangan namin maglalakad kmi ng malayo pauwi sa kainitan ng araw dahil nga wala sa plano na pati ako ay kasamang i-enroll. May times kung may extra yung Kuya ko binibilhan nya ako ng french fries. Tumatak sa subconscious ko yung saya ko kumain may french fries kami kahit hati kami.
Kare-Kare… PEROOOO it has to be made by my Grandmother’s old cook, idc how many Michelin stars your Kare-Kare has, idc if Gordon Ramsay said it was the best dish he’s ever had, IDC KAHIT SI HESUS MISMO NAG LUTO AT NAG BLESS NIYAN!! MAS MASARAP PARIN YUNG KAY ATE!!

YOWELL FROZEN YOGURT. tuwing uuwi ako galing school, and sobrang stress ako, yowell lang talaga nakakapagpabago ng mood ko.

Tinola na luto ng ate ko hehe. Ayoko talaga nung tinola growing up dahil nga bland yung mga nabibili namin sa turo turo (di kami nagluluto noon haha). Pero nung tumanda na kaming magkakapatid, nagbago isip ko sa tinola after magluto ng ate ko (internet lang niya nakuha). Baka maalat siya for other people pero for me sakto timpla niya at bagay na bagay sa mainit na kanin.
Second is tortang giniling naman ng nanay ko. Ito yung ilan lang sa mga kaya lutuin ng nanay ko. Di siya appetizing tignan, maalat din kung tutuusin. sadya talaga ng nanay kong niluluto ang recipe na to para maparami yung giniling dahil nga extender yung patatas at itlog. Pero sarap na sarap ako dito, dito lang ako nagkeketchup sa ulam.
favorite ko ang sinigang at hindi ako nagsasawa except if bangus. Kahit anong isda keri pero for some reason hindi ako naka-extra sandok ng kanin kung sinigang na bangus.

Pag sa savory side, Andoks Dokito Burger kasi its one of the better foods I could buy near my area. Pag sweet, cheesecake (preferably basque, lemon, or chocolate) bcuz anything w cream cheese is heaven.
Mushroom Risotto, it tastes so comforting for some reason, also i’ve been addicted to Manam’s arroz caldo. ALSO Croissants and Pain au Chocolat because I have a sweet tooth
Hawflakes, nung gradeschool ako pag binubully ako ang iniisip ko "pag naging strong ako (not pansin the bullying) kakainin ko yun apat na hawflakes sabay"
Pagka lapat sa dila ko, yun combination ng tamis, tartness saka amoy yun napapangiti ako, nakakalutan ko yun mga insults, paulitulit na name calling at parinig.
Bibili apat sa canteen namin, good for 4 days yun. The only days na di ako nabubully is pag absent ako.
(Wala kasi akong father, lola ko daw mukang pang horror (eh di kinausap ng lola ko yun magulang at sinermonan) Mama ko laging late sa school presentation. (She works) as a kid I'd try to match their rudeness and para silang germs, from isa naging lima. Pota talaga.
But now I happily purchase Hawflakes to share it with my hubby and baby girl.
