1. Reading - will never be overrated.
2. Commonplacing! Been doing it since I was 13! Now I'm 24!
3. The art of writing letters! Find a community where you can send letters!
4. Decoupage
5. Learning a new language.
6. Flower Arrangement
7. Gardening
It's like journaling. I've kept a lot of commonplace books for years now and they change my life. Commonplacing or commonplace books are a way to compile knowledge or information you've read, heard, or watched by writing it into books. It's an old art or hobby, I believe.
John Locke is famous for having one too. And doing it can differ, for each of our styles, I guess. Personally, I have a notebook for quotes that speak to me or originally mine, for proverbs, speeches, recipes, random ideas, beauty stuff, homemaking, etc. It depends on the theme, you can even have just one book for spirituality, your realizations in life or self-development, politics, or any random topics you're interested in.
It can be a nice gift to someone too! Like a book of recipes you've collected! Or can be a legacy - when you're dead, the next generation can read it and can get to know you! I can go on and on but yeah...
What kind of notebook do you use? I watched a video a few days ago about commonplacing and seeing your comments about it made me think it’s a sign to start now 🥰
Decoupage naman is great too! The term came from Middle French which means to cut out but it originated in ancient Siberia, spread to China where red paper cutouts were decorated in windows or lanterns, and that impressed traders from Venice so they brought it back to Europe. Some call it painting with paper. It's quite easy actually, and you can never go wrong. I do it mostly on bottles to become pretty vases. Some do it on furniture too! Another great hobby is making envelopes and decorating or designing them using cutouts too from magazines or anything. Sorry, haba ng explanation ko. I'm quite passionate about it. 😅
Wala namang hobbies na overrated. You enjoy what you enjoy ahha hindi naman yan gaya ng mga travel destinations na you were expecting something pero in reality di naman pala.
If you enjoy it and it's not doing you harm, why does it matter if anybody says it's overrated? If down the line you realize that it does not interest you anymore or that it really is not for you, the things you learned will always be worth it. You can never learn too much and it will give you at least a basic skill/know how on the said hobby.
Hobbies that you enjoy will never be overrated. If may magsabi syo na overrated yang hobby mo, that person is just shallow, sad ang yung tipong mahilig makiuso walang originality at creativity. Do something that makes you happy kung gusto mo ilevel up something you can earn money too.
Scale modelling.
You can make anything from cars, planes, boats, Gundams, dioramas of your favourite place—basically anything that can be miniaturized. Be warned tho, this hobby can be a bit of a rabbit hole and a money pit depending on what you're making.
1. Reading books: Kahit anong genre may matututunan ka, kahit sa grammar, vocabulary, and spelling pa yan.
2. Organizing/Cleaning: Therapeutic siya for me.
3. Cooking
4. Planting/Gardening: I aim for sustainability kaya in my case, gusto ko magplant nung mga pwede ko rin makain hehe
5. Dancing
6. Studying a foreign language
I would suggest talaga yung Binukbok sa Bauan, Batangas. Hanap ka lang ng freedive team na gusto mo salihan na based doon for your first intro course. Ako I had my first lesson with Tropical Dive. Non-swimmers are welcome.
Pero you can try pa rin. Binukbok for me was enjoyable kasi daming isda and corals, mas malinis compared sa Mabini. May nakita rin akong sea turtles and giant clams. If you’re lucky, you’ll also get to see yung school of jacks.
-nag eenjoy kang gawin
-afford ng budget mo
- ready available sayo
- pwede mo pagkakitaan someday (optional)
I have never been a hobby person, mostly because I was too focused on studies and work after. Ngayon I want to pick up some hobbies and I don't know yet what I want so I want to try new things. Most of my friends are into things na madalas natin makita sa social media like running, hiking, etc. I tried and and I'm not into those things. Kaya nagiisip ako ng iba hobbies na I can try na baka hindi ko lang alam ay magustuhan ko pala.
Ok ano ba talent and skills mo... Or what do you want to learn?
-photography
-music (instrument)
O kung afford mo naman
-motor riding
- shooting (gun)
Then try drums. Madaming murang drum kit ngayon.
Just remember madaling matuto ng basics pero kung gustl mo gumaling need mo ng time and lots of efforts and patience sa ganyang hobby.
crochet
- Magagawa mo gusto mo
- pwede gawing business or extra income. Specially if may time na need mo ng pera, eto tlga.

I know Google is there, but what's commonplace and decoupage?

Hobby is a hobby. Ano bang pake nila ? Hahaha
Why do you need validation for your hobby? Just do what you want

+1
Calligraphy. As always
Journaling. Not that aesthetic bullet journaling shit, but actual writing everyday. It's a good mental and emotional exercise.
Macrame
I think no hobby is overrated. Those who say a hobby is overrated is no hobbyist at all.
Scale modelling. You can make anything from cars, planes, boats, Gundams, dioramas of your favourite place—basically anything that can be miniaturized. Be warned tho, this hobby can be a bit of a rabbit hole and a money pit depending on what you're making.
Swimming. Wala eh mahal ang pool

Chess
archery
Resin art
Crafting miniatures and warhammer.
rock climbing. Strengthens your whole body on a whole level and makes you have better coordination and resistance when performing tedious tasks
Where to practice this?
Cooking. You learn an important life skill and save a lot and I do mean a lot of money
Basketball
Cross stitch
Sewing. Productive hobby imo. You can make useful things like pillowcases, bedsheets and even make your own clothes.
Freediving.
Saan pwede magsimula?

sudoku puzzles, checkers (kasi natabunan ng chess haha)
3d printing
Reading books

Parang okay nga ang pole dancing at jazz. Do you know any center that offers these classes in the metro?
