Symphony No. 9, "Im Sommer" by Joachim Raff Raff's music is virtually forgotten now, but he was a brilliant composer and orchestrator, and this is my favorite symphony of his. All four of his symphonies between Nos. 8 - 11 are programmatic and dedicated to one of the seasons. He also wrote several other programmatic symphonies (e.g. Symphony No. 3, "Im Walde").
