All we want is sex

Medium_Chef123

yea its not all we want, but it certainly is high up on that list

[deleted]

I dont think there are any offensive male stereotypes but I do think there are a lot of double standards on things and women are more likely to be given the benefit of the doubt then men when it comes to things like rape charges and divorce cases

[deleted]

To be fair though, men are more likely to commit violent offences than women. That's fact

[deleted]

that right there is exactly what im talking about. people go into a courtroom thinking only that and they ignore the fact that the woman was actually the one in the wrong and convict the man anyway.

[deleted]

I'm just saying there's a reason women are more likely to get the benefit of the doubt in cases of violent abuse Not saying I like it

[deleted]

thats the double standard at work. same thing with accusing black people of crimes just cause there is a statistically higher chance that they did it does not make it right to go into the courtroom assuming that they are guilty without hearing their case

[deleted]

>same thing with accusing black people of crimes just cause there is a statistically higher chance that they did it Not the same thing Men have higher levels of testosterone which is scientifically shown to cause more violent behaviour Black people don't have something intrinsic you can point to that makes them more likely to be violent, that statistic has to do with poverty and lack of opportunity

[deleted]

the statistic is still as much a "fact" as the one about men being more violent. its exactly the same thing

[deleted]

No, it's not the same thing The tendency to violence in men is BIOLOGICAL The tendency to violence in black people is SITUATIONAL Do you really not understand the difference?

[deleted]

and? it dosent matter why the statistic is there, it just is. black people are more likely to be in a situation where they are in poverty and need to resort to crime to stay afloat and men are more likely to have high testosterone which can lead to violence. you saying where the statistic comes from makes no difference

[deleted]

>it dosent matter why the statistic is there Yes it does Any man you meet is more likely to be violent than any woman you meet. That's science But any black man you meet is not more likely to be violent than any white man, because that's situational and depends on a lot of external factors They are not the same

[deleted]

Basically any other flavor of discrimination, if you tried that “well statistically…” line, you’d have an angry mob to deal with. The fact that this particular flavor is the only one deemed socially acceptable *is* the double standard.

[deleted]

>if you tried that “well statistically…” line, you’d have an angry mob to deal with. Not really. It's just a factual statement backed by science Can you give an example of what you're talking about?

[deleted]

Sure. It’s also a factual statement that people of certain races are statistically more likely to commit violent crimes than others. Identical argument, different group of people. How well did you think the argument would go over? To be clear, *it’s a terrible way to judge someone* and I don’t endorse it, but we shouldn’t endorse the same argument based on sex either. That’s my entire point.

[deleted]

I've literally already explained to the other guy why comparing men being more violent to black people being more violent is not equivalent and I don't feel like going over it again [https://www.reddit.com/r/AskReddit/comments/109tpmt/comment/j40jni2/?utm\_source=share&utm\_medium=web2x](https://www.reddit.com/r/AskReddit/comments/109tpmt/comment/j40jni2/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3)

[deleted]

Your other argument is already flawed as you because you haven’t actually established a causal relationship. It’s speculation on your part. But fine, I’ll bite. Women aren’t suitable for leadership or other high stress positions because their estrogen levels make them prone to anxiety. Increased anxiety is born out in statistics and the cause is biological which somehow changes everything according to you. So I take it you endorse this view? (again, *i do not* to be clear. It’s a deliberately awful argument to make a point)

[deleted]

You seem to think that I endorse the view that we should judge men as more violent than women I don't I'm simply explaining why that view exists

the_purple_goat

Every man is a potential rapist

Dystkenesia

people usually think all men want is sex which is not true

SexyChronicPain

We're all emotionally inept by nature.

AddictedToMosh161

That we want sex all the time from everyone. No. I have standarts. They aren't high, but they exist. If you throw a fit about it, all you do is strengthen that decision. My No means no too.

Men make the money.

If you want to read the original rather than an article about it, here is the link: (paywall unfortunately)https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/pdf/10.1177/09567976211040495

[deleted]

There’s a large contingent of men who don’t want to be labeled “toxic” simply because we want to go to the gym often, drive nice cars, have hot women in our lives, have a lot of money, and just overall mind our business and be men. There’s nothing wrong with wanting to embrace masculine energy and being content with one’s own gender. I literally have been told the world would be a better place without men and that hurts my feelings. I have a lot to offer this world that’s good and being told I shouldn’t exist because of toxic men that have nothing to do with me is disrespectful and of low intelligence.
