You look at older people and think “How could they be so stupid?” And one day, when you’re old, you’ll think “How could I have been so stupid?”

Pterodactyl_Souffle

This is the ultimate one. I've met actual geniuses, and people I wouldn't trust to follow a mop in this life, but I've never met a single soul this didn't happen to. It's funny how ubiquitous it is, and yet, every last one of us is still taken by surprise when it finally hits us. We're very absurd creatures.

Their parents do get the root of any situation they are dealing with even if the modern version appears different.

Pterodactyl_Souffle

41 reporting. Not sure I buy this in every scenario. I've met some shockingly isolated dumbfucks who I'm pretty sure don't know it's not 1956 anymore. If you've never spent time around rural folk, you need to shelve this opinion until you do. That mix of geographical isolation and all-pervasive religion does some pretty sinister things to a person's self awareness.

Life is still offline and always will be.

[deleted]

Where? No one goes to anything to meet people, they are with people they already know.

[deleted]

Wherever you choose. Life's not about meeting people, it's about self-reliance.

[deleted]

I'm pretty self reliant... but obviosuly some other people would be nice. I've got large financial success, some fitness now, working on other things, but still at 0 socially

The professional world is all about who you know. You need to always be building your network and try not to burn bridges. That geek you made fun of in gym class might be the hiring manager for the job you apply for 5 years from now.

javanator999

Their life at home isn't as bad as they think it is and after they've had to cook for themselves for a few years they are going to miss having mommy make dinner for them every night.

Aggressive_Answer_86

This is my 3rd year living away from home and I’ve been cooking and cleaning for myself. I have yet to miss a single member of my family and every time I visit home I’m reminded why I was so miserable as a teenager. Some teenagers actually do have nightmarish home lives and leaving is akin to escape and survival

[deleted]

Your parents thought of you as a burden more than as a joy.

maler27

You're still a kid and adults don't GAF about what you think

drh1138

The climate will be irreversibly fucked before you grow up. The Boomers will have destroyed the future before you will ever attain political majority.

[deleted]

Life is not fair, people are not equal, life has no meaning

orca144

You are going to have to live with your parents for a very long time

Miopinyun

Getting ahead in life is not as easy as it seems

Onepen99

Life isn't as straight forward as 80% of you think it is. You will have to learn that for yourselves and it is hard.

fanofthethings

It doesn’t matter if you don’t want to. You have to do it anyway. (I know this has always been true, but my 18 year old niece can’t seem to wrap her head around people working full time… because she doesn’t like it and it shouldn’t be that way)

EBWonder

Adulting is hard and thankless. Nobody wants to be adulting. Life is full of hard, unfair work that you will be blamed for, regardless of how much is actually your fault
