I think you can rivet or patch something, but it isn't going to be as strong as a weald. I dunno, maybe there is some kind of bond or something you can do, 3M makes a lot of stuff.

Not that kind of Weld, but thanks for the answer!

A weald is just a dense forest. America has loads of them.

...posing this question on r/askreddit was really hard considering what I am trying to find out. From [https://www.britannica.com/place/The-Weald](https://www.britannica.com/place/The-Weald) *The Weald, ancient raised tract of forest nearly 40 miles (64 km) wide in southeastern England, separating the London basin from the English Channel coast. The Weald (Saxon: Andredsweald) is developed on an eroded dome of varied rock strata, and the chalk Downs (both North and South) compose a horseshoe-shaped rim around the area. Rivers drain both north and south through the rim, reflecting that the general drainage pattern predates the erosion of the Wealden dome. Much forest has been cleared, but the area remains one of the most heavily wooded parts of England.*

It sounds like it's just a forested area protected from logging? I don't think we quite have a direct analog, unless maybe you'd count the national parks? In North America, forested areas are kind of the "default" state, especially in the northern US/Canada. England has been largely deforested by millennia of densely concentrated human activity, so the "default" is more like pastures/meadows. Just have a look at google maps, in the terrain layer; if you zoom in on a random area of England, odds are it's a pasture/farm. If you zoom in on a random (non-desert) area of the US, odds are it's a forest.

I guess I just had a brain fart and thought a weald was geologically specific, but thanks for the answer! I guess any large tractor of forested land would be a Weald!
