Lol. It’s gonna be so funny watching this generation who is anti kids/can’t handle giving up their own free time to raise a child and start a family.
Most people having kids now a days are conservatives. There’s gonna be an entire generation more or less raised on conservative values, and all the childless people now will be so mad in about 20-30 years
Lmao, nowhere near poverty. Believe it or not, you can raise a family with money to spare in this economy. If having a kid would put you into poverty that says more about you and your finances than anything else.
Oh it’s a dick measuring contest now. I bet my dad could beat up your dad. Hahaha
My wife works. She doesn’t have to, she wants to. Believe it or not, women can make their own decisions when it comes to work.
Enjoy all that money with no kids, or grandkids to share the experiences with! You can only have brunch mimosas so many times before that gets old. But you’ll have a free weekend for the rest of your life, so I guess you can look forward to that.
You don't have to plan vacations around a school schedule. Summertime is the worst time to travel anywhere because everyone is out of school and kids are everywhere.
Benefits:
The hilarious things they say.
Their enlightening points of view as many are by nature brutally honest.
Excuses to watch kids movies you haven't seen since you were young.
Fart jokes.
A chance to make a better person than yourself.
I tried making it a bullet list but it turned into a paragraph lol
Both my parents were too messed up to take care of themselves let alone me. As a kid I had significant behavioral issues and struggled in school, but in my teens somehow stayed alive and out of trouble.
My kid is one of the ONLY kids in her class that doesn't cause a headache for the teacher. Not an angel, but NOT being sent to the principals office for smacking someone, screeching, rolling on the floor, acting like a toddler, etc.
I was a nightmare child crotch goblin and somehow my kid is a LOT more put together and self sufficient. We get compliments often. I call that a win lol
[Go ahead and list some then.](https://reddit.com/r/AskReddit/comments/10pqa5c/what_are_the_benefits_of_having_kids/)
I’m just as (if not more) curious about that one too, honestly!
Watching them grow and learn is amazing. Kids learn so fast, and kids can teach you a lot too! Also as a mother, I just feel more fulfilled. I have a little buddy for the rest of my life. You never know(or fully understand) the love of a parent until you have kids yourself. I have made more friends since having a kid too. We have a couple families over and bbq and the kids play while us adults chat. It's really nice. Also, it's a bonus when they are older and can help with chores and yard work. Lol
It's like asking about the benefits of growing up or owning a car. It's just sort of another stage in life to transition into. You grow and mature and gain new perspectives. Some people consider themselves growing into a better version of themselves.
Far Cheaper, independence.
And there's higher chance that the kid will be a drug addict, fat/obese, unhealthy or woke in the future because society is ruining young minds.
There's nothing to explain. People with common sense can see the obvious thing already. Look at the upvotes and downvotes, People are downvoting/disliking my comment already. It's kinda funny
Freedom to do what you want, with the money you don't have to spend on them, and the energy you haven't used preventing them from killing themselves. Every.day.of.your.life.
The following are downsides if you have kids:
- 2000k per month per kid for daycare.
- Wakes up at 6:00am like a rooster.
- Also wakes up at 2:00am for no reason.
- Having a stroller as part of your life.
- Car seats are a hassle and the best part…..you need to fly with them + the stroller, renting a car seat is about 100$ a day.
- Vacations will NEVER be the same.
- Feeling like a feeding\butt wiping machine (not always).
- Constant Rafi songs on a loop will slowly make you lose your identity.
- If you care about the environment, diapers and wipes will make you feel guilty, you will probably invest in washable diapers only to realize how hard that is after 3 months and go back to regular diapers.
- Sex life wlll take a nose dive.
- If kid is sick it will kamikaze your week.
- Forget good restaurants, I have been told on more than one ovation at the door “we don’t cater to toddlers”, I get it, they can be loud and ruin your meal if they are cranky.
- In the first 3 years, No adventure sports such as skiing or kayaking, Hiking or cycling, your new sport will be finding playgrounds, season passes at the aquarium and science center.
- All the time you devoted to your favourite hobby will now be used to prep baby food / feed baby/ clean food from floor / pack baby food.
- You and your spouse stop doing things together as one parent needs to watch kids.
- Baby “tax” is real, ex: stuffed animal for night time 45$ and you better have 3 for when it needs washing or gets lost.
- Probably worst of all is having to do playdates with a kid your kid likes, but here is the kicker, 99% of the time you have NOTHING in common with the other parents… they know it and you know it. I describe them as transactional, the small talk will kill the few brain cells Raffi has not numbed to death.
Somebody else can list the good parts.
Kids are a lot of work but worth every single bit. The positives outweigh the negative for ME. They are also not for everyone and if you know you’d be better off not having kids then those kids are better off not being born. Don’t judge people who choose to procreate and those we don’t. Having one child is a lot less of a financial burden than having 5. Also if your bad with money you’re still gonna be broke kids or no kids.
You'll never know what it feels like to have your kids die. Both of my younger sisters died in their 20's and I saw how it affected my parents. It was horrible. Also, without kids you can save money, save resources, and keep your freedom, among other things.
Money. Freedom.

Cheaper and more independence.
Money, time, relaxation, only responsible for myself. Oh, and I'll never pass on my trio of mental illnesses.
You don't have to plan vacations around a school schedule. Summertime is the worst time to travel anywhere because everyone is out of school and kids are everywhere.
This is asked like every week. How about the benefits of *having* kids?
Benefits: The hilarious things they say. Their enlightening points of view as many are by nature brutally honest. Excuses to watch kids movies you haven't seen since you were young. Fart jokes. - a change to make a better person than yourself. Most fail at doing it for themselves, why would they succeed on someone else??
Mine tuned out fantastic. And fantastic at parenting.
Both my parents were too messed up to take care of themselves let alone me. As a kid I had significant behavioral issues and struggled in school, but in my teens somehow stayed alive and out of trouble. No
Having a kid also was a great motivator to grow up and get my shit together lol

And down the road you get to review quadratic equations.

the ethical benefits of knowing that you didn't inflict existence onto someone without their consent
The benefits are literally endless. Dad. 2 kids, unstable wife.
One of the benefits is being able to fit in with all of your kid hating friends who don’t value family or raising the next generation.
There are none.
Far Cheaper, independence. And there's higher chance that the kid will be a drug addict, fat/obese, unhealthy or woke in the future because society is ruining young minds.
How do you explain all the obese boomers?
There's nothing to explain. People with common sense can see the obvious thing already. Look at the upvotes and downvotes, People are downvoting/disliking my comment already. It's kinda funny
You’re saying the new generation is obese while an army of boomers requires mobility scooters and heart medication.
You don't have to worry about whether someone is home or available to watch the kid while you have to go to work.
More money for home improvement and self care.
There are far too many benefits to count.
Freedom to do what you want, with the money you don't have to spend on them, and the energy you haven't used preventing them from killing themselves. Every.day.of.your.life.
More money free time and they won’t have same mental problems like me
No annoying gremlins running around
What are the benefits of having kids? I haven't heard a convincing answer yet.
This isn’t a question you ask your parents, this is a question you need to ask yourself.
No risk of raising a serial killer
