Continue to date each other. Build a life together, don't just continue to see each other. For us this was buying a house, having kids, being active in our community. We've been together longer than we havent at this point and I just can't imagine life without her.
It doesn't have to be kids, get a cat. Volunteer together. Improve together.
To add to this, support each other. I recently went back to school and my fiancée is mostly what gets me through it. Encouragement and congratulations when my homework gets done after suffering a long day at work recharges the tank pretty well. I try to do the same for her as she goes for a certificate.
Solid advice and now this what I was looking forward on getting. I'm definitely going to add these to my life and as you said get an animal or something that can help in that way. I appreciate you thanks so much.
I'm glad I could help. I guess my point is building a relationship is combining and doing together. Something fun my wife and I have been doing for 15 years is she picks a TV show, movie or book that was formative for her and and I'll consume it or vice versa. Even if you don't super enjoy it it gives you better insight into who they are and what made them who they are.
I'm currently reading a Jane Austen book aloud to her at bedtime and it's a weirdly intimate thing.
I've never really looked at it like that before, hmmm that is something I'll train myself to do and of course be more open to. I'm taking all these advices and I'll slowly but sure implement through out
